I guess I have birds on the brain given the card yesterday, so I am showing this card today. This stamp comes from Unity stamps. It's simple but also sweet and gives a nice message to that one you love. I love how the words on the roof of the bird house are things like tweet, chirp,.....I know my DH know I want to be wherever he is. Well, most of the time that is.
Hope everyone is having a great week and everyone had their kids start off a good week at school.

Treat Hummer
Here's a fun image from Sweet Pea stamp's Norma J. Burnell. This image is called Treat Hummer. She creates beautiful images of birds and stunning ladies with a unique and detailed flair. I stamped this image and used Copic Markers to color in the details. I can think of so many wonderful color combos to try!
Here's a close up of the bird, don't you love the little mouse on her back? that, plus that tiny little jack'o latern. How adorable! If you missed the Sweet Pea blog this week, drop by the Sweet Pea Blog and see all the design team who made gorgeous cards using stamps from this artist.

Always been a fan of the fun images from Sassy Studio. This image was a freebie for their monthly progressive challenge at Paper Craft Planet. I have been enjoying checking out all the other creations with this amazing image.

Halloween or year round?
Here's another great Sweet Pea card this week from Teresa Sherman called Alad Poor York (plate #213). This stamp is one that I love to use for Halloween as it is coming up so soon. I added a long border die from Spellbinders to fill in the background here.
Since the border was quite long, I cut it into several pcs and then layered the border using pop dots so there are several layers of borders on the card. I also used some fun glitter paper to die cut out some bats. She's wearing skull earrings as well as bats in her hair and snake jewelry which I colored up in purple to go with her bright red outfit. She's decked out for the night!
This fun image is also available as a digi-stamp.

Here's a close up of the stamp, which is also sold individually as a digi-stamp. I am using some flocked shimmery Heidi Grace paper as the base of this card. So beautiful.

Open your heart and mind
I guess some may find this odd....but I see this little doll, stuffing popping out his head and his heart (and his leg)...then I almost have to giggle a little when I add the sentiment "Open your heart and mind." You know we use such sentiments all the time, but do we ever literally think about what such a sentiment means? well, I guess check out this little image and have a laugh about it.
This cute stamp comes from Queen Kat artist Miss Megs and is called Pin Cushion stamp. Miss Megs designs all kinds of different images of beautiful women, steampunk and gorgeous designs that make me think of pretty tattoos. Check out her work at Queen Kat.

An apple a day....
Hello everyone! This week Sweet Pea stamps is have a variations week, meaning all designers do cards with the same image. Here's my take using Karen Middleton's image "An Apple a Day" I used the sentiment Friends, I can so totally imagine this little girl caught up in her own conversation with this little worm in a apple.
Drop by the Sweet Pea designs blog and see what all the other designers made using this exact same image to get lots of idea for designing with it.
Cheers, Holley
I colored the image using Copic Markers and added some Washi tape to my card. I added some Glitz, the word Friends, as I can so see her holding her own imaginary conversation with the little tiny worm in that apple. I also used a wonderful sentiment from Sweet Pea stamps "For every beauty there is an eye somewhere to see it. For every truth there is an ear somewhere to hear it. For every love there is a heart somewhere to receive it."
Here's a close up of my coloring of this image

You Give me Butterflies
Here's a gorgeous image from Make it Crafty combined with some lovely papers from Paper Temptress to create today's card. This pretty image is named Elisabeth. I am also using a butterfly and a you give me Butterflies sentiment from Unity Stamps. All the papers today are Paper Temptress.
The featured stamp is a digi-stamp, so it was printed out on my computer. For digi-stamps, I like to use 80lb paper, as it runs through my printer my easier. I color with Copic markers, so I find that Neenah Solar White is a good paper which both runs through my printer and colors well. The base of this cards is a gorgeous mica cardstock that shimmers. It's called Flame, I stamped right on it in chalk ink. The red cardstock also has flecks of mica in it, it's Vermillion Sparkle. The black cardstock has a very heavy texture to it, which I showed by adding some white ink to the edges, it's called Black Felt Grandee. You can't tell from the image, but the reason that the "You give me Butterflies" quote lies on top of the cardstocks and the butterfly stamp is because it was placed there by stamping it onto a clear transparency!! Doesn't it look like the image is just floating there?

Beautiful Guest Card, Artist Patti Gilliam
Here's a stunning card that I received in the mail just the other day from artist Patti Gilliam. Let me tell you why this card is so special, it was actually published in the most recent copy of Card Maker Magazine, Autumn 2013 issue. I had signed up for a blog contest on her blog, Cherish Each Precious Day
She announced that she was selected to be published and she was giving away a copy of the magazine as a prize. I won!! That's super exciting to me because you all know how much fun blog candy I do year round, I don't often win myself. I was so happy. At any rate, after nice emails and such, I was so pleased when the magazine arrived, but more STUNNED to actually be given the card itself!! WOW, the one that she had published in the magazine.
If you have a copy of Card Maker Magazine, it's on page 17, let me tell you, the photo doesn't do it justice, when you see it in person you can see the extra layers of the butterflies, the gorgeous papers used, the detailed embossing, Oh, lovely!!
So, next time you are at a newsstand, pick up the magazine and check out Page 17 to see her card or drop by her blog to see her work.
Cheers, Holley

Here's the perfect for summer theme card, a popsicle. Mmmm, I do love those. I colored it up in my favorite color, orange. I love the sentiment it comes with, "You melt my Heart." Awe, so true, 16 years later and he still melts my heart. What a sweetie.

Coffee, Tea, or Meow?
Coffee, Tea or Meow? Hmmmm, I wonder what my hubby would pick...I guess that depends on whether it's the first thing in the morning or later in the day. I might not want to challenge the coffee if it's too early. He's a huge coffee drinker. I am already in competion with the cat we have, at least, that is what the cat thinks, lol!!
How about you, what are you going to pick?

Mushroom Fairy
Here's a gorgeous image from Sweet Pea artist Teresa Sherman called Mushroom Fairy. She's available as a rubber stamp and is sold on Plate #168. You can also find her as a digital image. I love this beautiful fairy. Once I colored her up with copic markers, I had some wonderful Basic Grey paper that went perfect.
Here's a close up of this amazing fairy image:
Be sure and check out all of Teresa Sherman's amazing stamps at the Sweet Pea store. One of my other favorites from her is this awesome Steampunk image called Steampunk Sally!
Have a crafty weekend.

Snowman Ornament
Here's one more adorable Christmas theme stamp for this summer celebration of Christmas stamps from Queen Kat. This adorable image comes from artist Sandra Caldwell. I am showing this image in two different ways, one in a large format on it's own card. He's so cute in his Santa hat and scarf.
Here, I made the image a little smaller, this is a feature that I appreciate about digital stamps, so I could use the snowman ornament to decorate my own little Christmas tree on this card below. Isn't it adorable?
I hope this gives you some great ideas for some quick and adorable Christmas theme cards using these cute and adorable stamps from Sandra Caldwell. Be sure and check out all her great images at Queen Kat.
Cheers, Holley
