Sunflowers for you

Here's a wonderful image from Cat's Pajamas. I just love their stamps.  They also have some of the cutest sayings.  I don't have one for this card, but what first grabbed my attention to their stamps years ago was some of the most funny stamp sayings.

Hoping everyone is ready for May.  Can't believe it is already May!  Planning a quick day trip to San Antonio for family business.  Keep your thoughts for me and the family.

Happy Anniversary John!

Celebrating a special day today, here's a card that I made for my hubby.  I was inspired by a card from Craftylollea's Blog using this stamp and I knew that was the image I wanted to get for the anniversary card.  She's Lady Raven from Kenny K.  Here's my card with Lady Raven, hope the hubby loves it.
Saying in yellow above "Your love is my light, sun of all my mornings, fire of all my nights."
I just love this artist, Kenny K stamps, he does all different types, but really has some gorgeous woman stamps

Here's a peek on the inside of the card, I rarely take an image of the card's insides to show on my blog
Off I go to celebrate a special day. I can't think of a person I would rather be with.  Each year gets better and  better.  Love you John.

Cuppie Cake Time!

Here's the cutest little cuppie cake girl from artist Elisabeth Bell. This cute Sweet Pea stamp is called Little Wishes. This is done on a two sided cardstock that's green on one side and pink on the other.  I punched the bottom with a border punch so you can see both colors and textures of the cardstock.

I also added some gorgeous dies in pink and some fun bling to highlight the fun image from E. Bell.  Don't you love her work, she's just one of those artists that you KNOW it's hers as soon as you see it.
Here's some close ups to see the image itself as well as the card details.

Hope this card brings a sweet smile to your face. I know I am ready for a Cuppie Cake now.  Who wants to go over to the Cup Cake store with me?  I am going to share this card over on the Elisabeth Bell blog today!  Hope they like it.

Cheers, Holley

Be sure and check out all of Sandra Caldwell's newest images at the Queen Kat store.  They are now selling images in both rubber stamp and digi-stamp format.

Tina Tatters

Here's a cute stamp from Sherri Baldy of Scrapbook Stamp Society.  She's called Tina Tatters (click here).  I colored her up and put her on this cute pink card with gorgeous papers from Paper Temptress.  Doesn't she look adorable?

The image was printed out on Heavely White and colored with Copic Markers.  I used a brand new die cut from Nellie Snellen.  The background of the card is gorgeous Mica cardstock in a beautiful pink color called Azelea.  I used part of the Hambly Studio products as my borders on the card by trimming one of the Hambly Overlays called white heliconias.  I used tinypop dots which are hidden behind the design.  I also had a piece of bright pink paper, Razzleberry, which I used to add a great POP of color right in the center of my card.

I hope this card brings you some spring filled love and makes you want to create a card with beautiful papers today!

Cheers, Holley

Just Breathe

Here's a Tiddly Inks image, a portrait of woman in tears. I think we can all feel that way at times.  I added a sentiment from Cosmo Cricket that says "Just Breathe."  I feel that can sum it up sometimes.  We just need to stop, take a breath, and take things one day at a time.  Life can be overwhelming when you think about everything.  Sometimes even when you are trying to solve every problem in the world, often problems that are not your own.  I know I am often guilty of that.  I am not saying that you should be helping out those around you or taking on their problems, but I am saying that sometimes you just need to stop, take a breath, and take things one day at a time.  Just say a prayer and keep going on.
Project Materials:  Cardstock (Bazzill, Crafter's Companion, Neenah, DVWV);  Digi-Stamp (Tiddly Inks); Ink Colorbox Chalk); Punch (Martha Stewart); Die Cuts (Spellbinders Nestabilities); Lace (JoAnns); Color (Copic Markers); Adhesives (Pop dots, Glue All, Ribbon Glue);

Check out this gorgeous Owl card from Sweet Pea stamps.  This cutie is the stamp that is being shown during Variation's week.  During that week, each artist on the design team is using the same image, so on the Sweet Pea blog you will get to see the same stamp used many different ways.  It's become one of my own favorites as I love to see a bunch of ways to play with the same stamp!  This stamp is designed by artist Concetta Kilmer and is called  Under Her Wings.

It's sold both in Digi format as well as rubber stamp format.  Perfect for mother's day.  This artist has several adorable owl stamps.  Be sure and check out her images at the Sweet Pea store.

Lil Red Riding hood

Here's a fun Lil Red Riding Hood Stamp from Sassy Studio Designs.  I love this artist's designs.  I added a fun vellum sentiment for her "Travel beyond your path" as I guess we all know the path to grandma's house that she's taking....

Hope you are all having a great week.  I am still SO happy about the doctor's results last week. It's been such a weight lifted off both me and my husband.  I really hope now that after I finish the current prescription and I am taken off this drug totally, I will be down to just five medications a day.  Woo Hoo.  I know that still seems like a lot, but I was at 8 meds and probably triple the doses I am taking now.  It's remarkable to be where I am now.

Project materials:  Cardstock (Bazzill, Paper Planet, Neenah);  Image (Sassy Studio); Vellum Saying (JoAnns); Flowers (Hobby Lobby, Prima); Brads (Imaginations, Basic Grey, Making Memories); Adhesives (Pop dots, Glue All, Glue dots);  Color (Copic Markers);

Wonderful

Here's a fun card that I did in a favorite color combo of pink and black.  This adorable image is Scrapbook Stamp Society artist Sherri Baldy's image Pigtail Polly.  As you can tell from so many of the images that I love, I also love the pigtails!  Perhaps that comes from being in the military.  I guess I always wore my hair up and I still do most of the time.

Sweet Pea Scrapbook Page

Sweet Pea stamps is having a great contest right now to create a scrapbook page using a stamp from them.  Here's a page that I made recently using some photos of my hubby and me.  These pictures come from about 10 months post brain surgery.  You can see how very tan I am from doing nothing but finally getting out of my house!
Here's the great stamp from Sweet Pea that I am using on this layout, which is 12"x12"  This stamp is called Pink Girl from artist Marlon Teunissen (Plate #239).
In addition to the Pink Girl stamp, my layout is also using three different wording stamps, one is "You make my heart skip a beat!" and the other two sayings  "My heart belongs to only You" and "You tug at my heartstrings" come from Plate #102

Sweet Pea is having a great contest right now, the big prize is $50 gift card!  Woo hoo.  They are also going to pick three additional random contestants for $10 gift cards.  So  it's a wonderful prize.  Put together a scrapbook page and add a beautiful Sweet Pea stamp as your focal image.  Please drop by the Sweet Pea blog to read the RULES on the contest.

Sweet Pea just announced a huge 4th Anniversary/Tax Day sale!  They are having 40% off over 1000 of their images. WOO HOO, now that's a SALE!!  CLICK HERE to read about it.  CLICK HERE to go straight to the sale.

Many thanks to everyone for their thoughts and prayers yesterday (and before!!)  The doctor apt went really well.  REALLY well.  Test was so good.  Surprised the doctor (and me).  Wonderful news and wonderful blessing. My blood count rose an amazing level, that is thanks to dropping two sets of medication and I just hope to keep getting better now.  Let's hope that is why everything is so much better now. I won't even have to get tested again for another 6 months.  I had to laugh when he said wow, the test is "Almost normal"  My husband had to laugh at that.  "Almost normal."  How could it be???  Praise God.

Here's a wonderful stamp from Sweet Pea stamps designed by artist ching-chou kuik called Owl Territory (Plate #238).  I am using some amazing gold embossed paper with some glittery embellishments.  I just love this new stamp.
Here's a close up of the stamped image, using the colored I did, be sure a check out the original coloring that artist ching-chou kuik used so you can see how different this stamp looks just based on coloring!

Here's a close up of the sentiment I am using, I though it just goes perfect with a stamp about Owls.  I know they make me think of wisdom and wonder all at the same time.

Hope this creation makes you feel like crafting today.  Drop by the Sweet Pea store and check out the amazing sales going on.  Too many goodies.  Did you know that you can now get these stamps in Digi format too?  click here

Little Old Fairy

Here's an adorable Little Old Fairy stamp from Queen Kat artist Sandra Caldwell.  Isn't she cute?  I just love her!  I added a cool ribbon/lace combo underneath her in a wavy form.  I also had to add a fun sentiment "Live, Laugh, Love."  At her age, I think she knows that is the way to live your life!!

Sweet little butterfly girl

Here's an adorable little girl from Scrapbook Stamp Society artist Sherri Baldy.  Isn't she cute? You can find her here.   I made this card using wonderful paper from Paper Temptress. YUMMY!
The base of the cardstock is Neenah Solar White 80lb.  It's a nice versatile white paper, it's also great for running through my printer as it's stiff, but not TOO stiff.  I can use it for cards like this, when I am adding additional layers to my card since the additional layers will add strength to the weight of the card.  The 2nd layer was added for color, it's a gorgeous pink that matched both the transparency and the copic markers, it's Poptones Razzleberry.  The Hambly Overlay used here is Magenta Brocade.  Totally gorgeous.  Look at the wonderful background it makes on this card.

I have had a couple people ask me about how to hook these see though items onto the card.  You can hold it in place using many methods:  brads (like the dragonflies above), well placed glue dots, colored paper clips, colored staples, certain adhesives (esp if used in covered area like behind the stamped image), punch a hole and use ribbon, or find a clever way to hide the adhesive with a decoration on top!

Hope this sweet smiling little girl makes you want to create something today.  Cheers, Holley

I wanna fall in chocolate!

Forget Love! I wanna fall in Chocolate!  Well, I have seen some chocolate that looks so good, I might want to fall in there, lol!  But, at the end of my day, think I would actually go for the love!  My hubby is pretty darn sweet all by himself.  He may not taste as good as chocolate, but he sure can make me smile.

Going to put this into the Oozak challenge this month, it's to use pearls (the bling about the ribbon), Lace (that gorgeous lace from Turkiye) and ribbon I put between the two.  I am also using a fun embossing die cutter and a spellbinders die cutter.  Coloring with Copic makers.

Cheers, Holley

Guest Artists: Kelly S and Nikki C

Here's a gorgeous card from Kelly S.  It's really stunning, the flowers are embossed in an orange colors (you know that's my fav color!!)  and match the background paper, the brad and the ink just perfectly.  I think the scanner kind of makes it a little bit brighter than it looks in person.  You can run your finger over it and feel the beautiful flowers.
what lovely work Kelly! Thanks so much for your beautiful embossed thank you card.

Here's another wonderful card that I rec'd from artist Nikki C from Canada

The top image is the front of the card and the 2nd image is the inside of the card.  WOW!!  just amazing work.  She put a cute little note in there that she made me this card because she knows that yellow/orange are my favorite colors.  Yep. She's right about that.  So right.  I just love her beautiful work.  What a treat.  It sure made a cold and mostly rainy week into a wonderful sunshiney week.

Cheers, Holley
