Here's a fun stamp from Queen Kat stamps called Endless Love. It just makes me think of a couple who spent their whole lives together and died in each other's arms. I colored up the roses on this image in yellow and then added some yellow flowers. I am using background paper from Carta Bella.
Here's a fun question for the day, what's the longest married couple you know? We just had a couple in my church, they have been married 65 years!! WOW. But if I am picking like immediate friends and family, hmmmm, I guess my parents are over 42 years now.
How about you? do you know any Endless Love in your life? I just saw a family member (on facebook) who wanted to say that love never lasts. Ahhh, how sad of her to think, she's only 17. I have been with my sweetie John for 16 years. Let's show her how really endless love can be!

I love this stamp! Seriously need to get it. I have known several older couples well over 60 years...including my grandparents.
ReplyDeleteI think a lot of people these days don't really understand what love is. It really isn't a fuzzy warm feeling in your gut, although it usually starts that way. Choosing to spend your life committing to be with someone, through thick or thin, no matter what is really love. I have chosen to do that, and believe me, there are days that fuzzy warmth is NOWHERE to be drempt of! lol I understand too though, that it will pass. And that resentment is a relationship killer!

Exactly 37 years, until my husband fell down next to me, had a heart attack.
His death is now seven years.
Now today comes two months my son died of a heart attack as well.
How sad, but life must go on.

Don't get me started with those who don't thing love lasts. Maybe the infatuation part but love is endless. With that being said, my hubby and I have been married 21 years this year and we dated for 7 years before marriage.

But have tp say the grandparents of my second husband were married for 61/62 years!

s since they were 15 years old, they are now around 66-67 so that's a long time!

This image reminds me of the notebook. My parents were married 56 years. Petty sure that we knew a couple (back when I was a child) that celebrated 74 years!

My great-grandparents where married 76 years. They where both almost 100 when they died.

ReplyDeletewell, I was married for 25 years before my ex- decided it is enough and we have to get divorce just because all of his friends did the same. I was shocked with his argument, but I said it is ok if he needs to be free. So I don't believe in long love anymore... sorry.

My in-laws had just celebrated 71 years when my MIL passed. She was just 17 when she married. It was young love that turned into a long and lasting love. I guess tonight is my night to talk in song lyrics, maybe Endless Love provoked this reaction! Anyway, the card is nicely done.
ReplyDeleteWonderful skeleton image, I love it! Horrible me, I can't remember how long my parents were married. Had to be at least 68 years, maybe more. In our {boomers} parents and grandparents times, people just didn't get divorced. There was quite a stigma attached to it.

ReplyDeleteNo lengths like I've seen other people mention, but my parents were married for almost 40 years when my dad died, and my oh and I have been married for almost 28 years.
My in-laws have been married for 63 years. What a wonderful example they are to our family!

ReplyDeleteCute card. That's said that someone posted love never lasts. My parents will celebrate their 55th anniversary this May and I will be celebrating my 19th in May as well. I agree the divorce rate is very high, but if people would work at a marriage, not rush into marriage, it might just last 50+ years. ;-)

Love does take work. And for it to work, it needs a generous spirit from the couple to always be able to ask for forgiveness and to always be able to forgive each other. When that is present in a couple's marriage, then love is endless. Very thought-provoking card...I really like it. :)
