Here's a stamp from a brand new artist at Sweet Pea stamps. Well, she is brand new to Sweet Pea stamps, but for those of you who come to my blog regularly I am sure you recognize this artist, it's Sandra Caldwell!! After Squigglefly shut down in Feb. Sweet Pea signed her to carry her adorable images, so drop by over there to check out her newest designs. This cutie is called Old maid bee so I colored her up with blue hair! I am using wonderful papers from Paper Temptress today to complete this card.
The base of this card is using gorgeous color cardstock called Tuscan Sun Brawny. The image is printed out on Neenah Solar White Classic Crest and die cut using Lifestyles. The yellow cardstock is from Pop Tones Lemondrop. I cut out the banners using die cuts from CC Designs.
Here's a close up of the Sweet Pea stamp colored using Copic Markers. Too cute, eh?
So, which die cut machines do you all have? I am a little shy to admit how many I do have, lol, I originally got a Sidekick, way back when they were brand new. Then used it enough to break it and buy a new one. I had a dear friend give me an original red sizzix many many years later. I bought myself a cuttlebug, which is probably the machine I use most often (and I have replaced it already once). I also have a BigKick? I can use the larger sizzix dies but the not the super large ones. I like this machine because its just easier to turn the handle and run things through it than the orginal size. So for embossing, I tend to always use the Sizzix and cutting I always use the Cuttlebug. (Oh and I also have the Making Memories Slice--from when it was brand new as well as a Cricut)
How about you guys?
which machines do you have? which dies do you like?
I just saw something the other day I have never seen, I don't know, perhaps there is no seller in the USA for them they were Trimcraft First Edition Dies. Anyone tried these?
Have you seen the winner list? click here
Have you signed up for the other days? if there is no winner listed, then the prize hasn't been given yet, go back and leave comment!
Oh yes, this image sure is cute. After all, it's a bee. ;)
ReplyDeleteI only have one die cutting machine - Sizzix Big Shot. Still the pink and black one so you can image how old it is. But I love it and I use it all the time. The only downside of it is (in my opinion), that I can't cut (bigger) shaped cards.
I love different brands of dies, but especially Magnolia Doohickey dies, Spellbinders dies and Heartfelt creations dies. But Memory box dies are awesome too imho. I've never heard of Trimcraft dies before though.
These image is realy sweet. I have got my Sizzix Big Shot for my birthday present exactly one year ago. Since then it is my faithful companion , with whom I am very pleased. The dies I loved are: Mariane design, memorx box, Spellbinders, Sizzix ...and much more.
ReplyDeleteLP, Marjeta
Very nice image :)
ReplyDeleteI have not any machines, sorry.. I like the cards where the die elements are ised, but I need in somebody who would share these elements with me before I can use them in my works...
I like the card you made now - it is so warm and sweet..
ReplyDeleteSorry, I have not any dies and machines - too expensive things for me..
This is a cute image , love her blue hair!
ReplyDeleteI have Sizzix Big Shot in teal blue which is my favorite color too and I purchased it last year when I started my passion as a card making crafter! Easy to handle and so smooth, love it!!! I have different brand dies like Spellbinders, Sizzix, Memory Box, Sue Wilson, Cuttlebug, Lawn Fawn, Die-namics, Impression obsession, Nellies nest, paper Smooches and many more. But never heard of Trimcraft dies.
Holley, your card is adorable and Summer.. We are in Winter here now, and I need in some sun shine and warm.. Thanks you shared it with us.
ReplyDeleteSorry, now the machine at me.. and I can say nothing answering your qwestion even..
LOL, I love the old lady bee. So cute. I like her because I am old. Darling card. I have a Sizzix Big Kick which is the same machine as the Big Shot. I am wild about dies. Spellbinders, Sue Wilson, Taylormade, Poppystamps, Verve, My Favorite Things, Sizzix and many more. I have not heard of Trimcraft dies yet either.
ReplyDeleteHi Holley!!! I have a Big Shot, the best christmas gift ever....I have it for 1 year now. Just love it!!! And regardind to dies I don't have any favorite brands. Lovely card!!! ;)
ReplyDeleteThis is just fabulous, great image and sentiment - love the blue hair! I have a grand calibur and I love Spellbinders and Memory Box dies x
ReplyDeleteI never think outside of the box, like with the blue hair so cute, but I would never have thought of doing that. Why is it? I like it when others do it, but when I sit down to color my imagination doesn't pop out. your card is darling Holley. I haven't heard of these dies before but now you have peaked my curiousity and I am going to go take a peak. Smiles Sher
ReplyDeleteI have a Cuttlebug and a Big Shot. I also have an eBosser. Like them all for different reasons. I really like the dies that match the Heartfelt Creations stamp sets.
ReplyDeleteYour little-old-lady bee is adorable! What a cute card! For cutting machines, I have a Cuttlebug. I've had it for ages, use it on practically every card I make! I am die crazy so it would probably be easier to say which brand of dies I don't like - and I can't think of any! I love dies!
ReplyDeleteLOVE this adorable card!! I have a Sizzix Big Shot, Spellbinders Grand Calibur, Fiskar's Fuse and a Silhouette Cameo for cutting machines. I use the Big Shot the most because it is so easy to use. I love Tim Holtz dies and Spellbinders makes my heart sing! Heartfelt Creations has some amazing dies also that are created by Spellbinders. Loving Little B's dies and Kaisercraft also. Elizabeth Craft Designs has some AMAZING dies out there that I absolutely adore and another favorite is Memory Box and Poppystamps dies.
ReplyDeleteI guess you could say that I am a die whore! LOL
Oh my this is gorgeous and love the cute image.

I'm so glad Ms. Caldwell isn't gone! Her images really are adorable!
ReplyDeleteI have 3 machines myself! I have the old original Sizzix too. I love it and those steel rule dies! You can cut almost anything with those! I also have a cuttlebug that I use with all of the thinner dies and the embossing folders. I have a revolution too from Quikutz. It does an awesome job with the ultra thin dies! I think I would have to say I have 2 favorite companies for dies. I love Spellbinders and Dienamics best. I also like the dies from Tim Holtz though, and there are just so many gorgeous dies on the market! I really like those ultra thin ones and the steel rule the best.
Love your Old Maid bee card. Her images are very cute. I hae a Big Shots machine made by Ellison. I went to the Ellison factory in Lake Forest, CA years ago and got it for $25 with the starter kit included with several dies. They were selling them off because they had the old heavy plastic packaging and had redone all the packaging. I like Sizzix and Spellbinders, but I really love all the thinlets that are out. I found a company that does saying, Elizabeth Craft Designs and they cut out just like butter. I have some dies from Memory Box and Poppystamps. I also like the Sizzlits too.

Fabulous and funky Holley. I love this sweet image. I have a few machines, you go through phases and want to progress. I have an ebosser and its fabulous.

I love this card. The image is darling and your coloring is fab as usual! I'm glad the Squigglefly artists are finding new homes. It was sad to see Squigglefly go. I also have several cutting and embossing machines. Somehow, I always seem to go to my Big Shot. I love taking my Cuttlebug when I go to crops, though because it's so easy to transport and so light weight.

ReplyDeleteThe old maid bee is just adorable! I LOVE it....and I have an entire collection of copic pens, I LOVE them, too. I don't have the whole collection but, I have many of them. And I've even taken classes before.
ReplyDeleteWonderful cute fun card Holley.
ReplyDeleteJanet xxx
I use my Cuttlebug and my Vagabond mostly. Love this card.
ReplyDeleteSo cute, Holley! As always, I'm amazed at your talent for coloring! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI have a cuttlebug, and a Cameo Silhouette.
ReplyDeleteReally cute card today Holley
Cute bee card and I love the bunting.
ReplyDeleteI have a bigshot and wouldn't be without it now. I use it all the time. x
Hi Holley this is a fantastic card I love the sentiment and the bee. I have a Sizzix Big shot and I have quite a few of their thick dies so I won't get rid of it. I had a pink Grand Calibur but I broke it after six months I got a refund and I now have the teal Grand Calibur. I would really like a Brother Scan n Cut. Hugs Jackie
ReplyDeleteFantastic card I have a sizzix big kick I'm loving all those thin dies they just take up no space at all and are perfect for my little space hugs Nikki
ReplyDeleteSuper cute image. I love that you colored the hair blue. I use the Sizzix Big Shot.
ReplyDeletelovely card and yes trimcraft a uk company and I just have my trusty old cuttlebug

Adorable xx Jan
ReplyDeleteA fabulously fun card Holley. I love the sentiment and cute image. Sandra Caldwell is so recognisable.
ReplyDeleteI have a Cuttlebug, Grand Calibur and an X-press (the X-cut machine by Docrafts). It's A4 size and cuts and embosses everything.
The Trimcraft dies are very similar to the X-cut (Docrafts) dies. Many British retailers post Docrafts products to The States if you can't find them over there. Let me know if you want my help x
Another great card :)) tell me what do you do with cards afterwards ;)

That sure is one cross eyed bee. He is cute.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing him!
This is adorable - and I love the sentiment! My beloved cuttlebug died last year and I replaced it with the big kick. I still miss my cuttlebug. I also just got a Brother scan ncut, and haven't had a lot of play time yet - but it's not love at first use!
ReplyDeleteLove your bee today Holley,
ReplyDeleteSadly I don't have any of those machines, I make so few cards I cannot justify spending all that money for so few cards. Folk over this way are not interested in hand made cards, they would rather spend $12 to $15 dollars for a machine made one. sad.

What a darling honeybee, She looks like she has had way too much honey LOL I like a lot of diecut machines andI own Sizzix Sidecut , Red sizzix machine, Quickutz, Slice, Crop a dile and Cricut.I like my sizzix dies and Spellbinders and Cricuts the most. My wishlist for a long time now has been the Big Shot, and the Cameo. If someone was really nice they would donate one to me and I would love and take care of it forever and that way also hubby will know I did not spend more money LOL. Poor Guy if only he knew ;o)
ReplyDeleteGreat image Holley love her hair, great design. Hugs Jennifer xx
ReplyDeleteSuper adorable image Holley!! Love, love, love it! I'm like you and have several machines but mostly use my big shot. I did just get a cameo for xmas and am just starting to use it also. I think it is going to be a winner!
ReplyDeleteI do recognize her!! beautiful card Holley.. I have a cricut explore which I bought only a couple o months back.. I haven't used it much due to lack of time. But I love how it cuts :) Hopefully I find some time in the near future to put it to full use :D
ReplyDeleteI do NOT have any Die Cut Machines! :(
ReplyDeleteCute Card....LOVE It!!! <3
I also have a sidekick, big shot, cricut, and the spellbinder's cutting machine for big dies. Love your cute image. Great coloring as always!
ReplyDeleteI vow not to have blue hair in my elder years. I hide my grey already with hair color and when it all turns white I shall become a redhead! LMBO! I only have a cuttlebug and I love it. Use it mostly for embossing as I only have the few basic dies to make tags.
ReplyDeleteHi Holley!
ReplyDeleteCute card :)
I have a BigShot and I love it. I have Dies and Embossing Folders from different companies. I like the Nellie Snellen Dies. They are good quality and cheaper than most other brands. :)
Afternoon Holley delicious hun love it great job hugs Judith xxx
ReplyDeleteCute! I have a Vintaj which I just got. I do not have too many dies or embossing folders. I have a few Lawn Fawn dies which are great.
ReplyDeleteAdorable image and card. I have the cuddlebug. Wish I could afford to get a different one. But I cant complain cause I have something that works. I love Time holtz and anything that is steam punk looking, Love some spellbinders dies too..Butterflies are another of my fav's. I don't have a lot of them as of yet though.
ReplyDeleteI have a cricut but have not used it in a very long time.
ReplyDeleteVery cute image. I have the original red Sizzix, Sidekick, and Bigshot. I also have a Fiskars Fuse and 2 Cricuts. (Expression and Personal).
ReplyDeleteSuper cute image and fantastic sentiment. I have a Cuttlebug which I bought last year and l like Spellbinder, My Favorite Thing and Sizzix dies very much.
ReplyDeleteI love the old lady bee. So cute. I have a Cuttlebug and l like Spellbinder, Elizabeth Crafts.
ReplyDeleteI started with a Sidekick which I still have, although I use my Big Shot all the time. I also have a Slice but rarely get it out. The First Edition dies cut really well by the way!!
ReplyDeleteCute, cute card!! I have a Big Shot, ebosser, Cameo and Explore. I like all of them for different reasons. I like Heartfelt Creations stamp & die sets, Spellbinders and Anna Griffin die & embossing sets.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute bee. Love the blue cap. I started with the sizzix red original, bought a sidekick for the thin dies, then on to the bigshot. Rarely a day goes by when I don't use my bigshot. Haven't tried first edition. Hugz
ReplyDeleteJust adorable...and love the cute sentiment! My only die cut machine is the Big Shot and it took me years to finally break down and buy one! I love using it because I can emboss as well as die cut!
ReplyDeleteLove Sandra's image today! I have a Cricut and an Epic Six. I use the Epic Six (QuicKutz) more than my Cricut only because my Cricut is stored under my table and my table is never clean enough to drag it and my cartridges out!! I must do a better job because I'm missing out on so many techniques and designs without it.
ReplyDeleteI agree! Home IS where your honey is! I am sad to admit that I have a lot of them. Some I have 2 of because of living in 2 homes. I have 5 of the crank ones, the old red sizzix, and 11 electronic cutters. Am looking to downsize since I don't use them all. lol My fav would be the bigshot and zing.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great fun saying! Home is where my honey(s) are for sure! I have the small Sizzix that was a hand me down from my mom but she lets me use her Big Shot as well!
ReplyDeleteI don't have any die cutting machines. All I have is a cuttlebug and I don't even use that as much as I should be.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Rosalee
What a cute card!! Love your bee with the blue hair. So adorable!!! I have finally cut back to just a few die cut machines. I have a Sizzix Big Shot which is my go to machine that I use most of the time. I also have a Spellbinders Grand Caliber, the Teresa Collins Cut n Boss and a Cricut Expression. I must admit, I rarely use my Cricut. I guess I'm still a little old fashioned and like to have the actual dies rather than the electronic version. I use the Spellbinders and the Teresa Collins machines when I have dies that are too big for the Big Shot. I love the Teresa Collins machine because she makes 10" x 12" embossing folders, perfect for scrapbook layouts. I love all types and brands of dies.
ReplyDeleteI have a big shot and I LOVE it...I chose it specifically because it is NOT electric. If its manual chances of breakdown are minimal which is why I chose the Big Shot...I love the tim holtz movers and shapers. The smaller the dies for me the better especially so they can at least fit on to an ATC size card. The old maid bee is adorable too!
ReplyDeleteI started off with the sizzix then went to the big shot. I also have 2 cricuit and a Vegabond. Love them all for different reasons!
ReplyDeleteI started off with the sizzix then went to the big shot. I also have 2 cricuit and a Vegabond. Love them all for different reasons!
ReplyDeleteLove a bee card any day Holley! My eldest daughter's nickname is QUEEN BEE and she really is! As for machines, just have the Big Shot right now. Cuttlebug hit the dust as well as my camera so right now am saving for a new camera first. I would love to try the Big Kick someday! Thank you for playing with us at Your Scrapbook Place and best of luck!
ReplyDeleteThat image is just too cute. Love it. My machines, well, I have 3 cricuts, a bigshot which I use most, a cuttlebug which I take to crops, 1/2 interest in a sizzix, a MM slice. I also have a hand held die cutter that only does the little quickcutz dies. And last but not least my scissors, they do lots of fussy cutting.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing with us at Your Scrapbook Place
I love die cutting and painting and coloring my dies. I usually cut them all in white so I can paint them. My Eclips by Sizzix is my favorite, but I love running dies in my Big Kick as well.
