Here's an awesome image from East Wind, they are having a challenge over on their blog called Tainted Love...guess I am dating myself by saying that was a big hit when I was in college. So I chose to make a card with this fun image (which is perhaps something I might have worn back then, sans the green hair because I was in the USAF and that wouldn't have happened). I added a sweet sentiment for my hubby "No ME without YOU"
Drop by their Challenge Blog and join in the fun. Also--did you all know they were making RUBBER stamps of East Wind images? they are--at Sweet Pea stamps! I just made a card with one that I am about to share real soon!!
Now for the blog candy fun of the day...
Hmmmm, well clearly by checking out this card, you can see one of my favorites for décor is die cuts and esp skulls, I also love cardstock stickers for sentiments. You don't see it on this card, but I use a LOT of buttons, they are another regular go-to item for me. (oh, and Ribbon...I seem to have an addiction to ribbon)
So, tell me, What are your favorite embellishements? what can you never get enough of? what are you always buying but never using?
Have you signed up for the other blog candy? be sure you go back to Feb 1 & 2nd and leave comments on each day to be in the drawing!
My latest addiction is veneers! I only have a few, so I hoard them like Croesus! lol Also I love lace and silk flowers. I buy and use tons of the stuff! I just love how it looks on my work!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool card! Love the vibrant colours and fun die cuts! My favourite embellishments are die cuts, gems, and sequins. I can't get enough die cuts! I'm die crazy! My wish list is a mile long! Something I buy and don't end up using is washi tape. I have a hoard of it but that doesn't stop me from buying more when I see it for a dollar! I'm always looking for ways to use it so if you have any washi tape inspiration, would love to see it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a colour. Intensiv card. Beautiful.

Very cute card and I like the sentiment. Die cuts! I love to make my own embellishments with die cuts and heat embossing. I also fussy cut images from prints and scrapbook paper. I love to make my own shaped flowers using die cuts and punches too. Also bling. Love little pearls of all colors and jewels.
ReplyDeleteI love the swirly embellishment on this card! I have SOOOO much ribbon, and I never want to use it because I don't want to give it up! LOL!
ReplyDeleteI love the image, wonderful colouring and beautiful papers.
ReplyDeletestunning image, colours and card Holley

Great compositiion and color scheme on your card. I love die cuts, i.e. Sizzix regular and Sizzlits minis, also framelits, border dies too. Use a lot of die cuts on my cards. I never have enough of flat gems, dots, Candies, nail heads. Flat embellishments make cheaper postage mailings.

Fabulous background and colour combination. Love the image and brilliant sentiment too.

Flowers, buttons and ribbon are my favorite embellishments and depends in whether making a male or female card.
ReplyDeleteLove this! Very well done design!
ReplyDeleteSuper card Holley, how cool is her hair, fabulous layout and detail hun, hugs xxx
ReplyDeleteLove this card, what a great sentiment, to your hubby <3
ReplyDeleteThis is a fun image. Love the color choices and all of the bling. I have been hooked on sequins as of late... and of course glitter.
ReplyDeletegreat card Holley. I love flowers but can't seem to part with them on my cards. I also love stick pins but its another thing I am stingy with on my cards. I am a craft supply hoarder. I love dies, stamps, and sticker gems. I think I could be happy crafting with just paper and ink honestly, but isn't collecting the stuff half the fun? LOL stickered gems definitely a fave because you don't have to break out a glue gun.
ReplyDeleteI have become addicted to sequins lately but love glitters, ribbon and lace, bling, die cutting is a passion of mine, flowers and clay embellishments that I make myself are all my favorite embellishment type items!
ReplyDeleteLove this card!! I had blue hair and purple hair back in the 80's. I had cancer and decided that since I was going to lose it anyhow I was going to have fun with it! For a shy girl that was really out of my comfort zone but I enjoyed it!
I have been using sequins but I always go for buttons. Cool card!
ReplyDeleteLove the bright colours and image x
ReplyDeleteAnother fun card!! My favorite embellishment is pearls and rhinestones (always love using them) and least favorite is anything bulky, especially buttons. I can never get buttons to adhere well!
ReplyDeleteAnother bright and fun card. All all that bling ... Wow! I love it!
ReplyDeleteAs for me, I can never have enough lace, flowers and pearls. Oh, and all kinds of bling. I use tons of those stuff and keep running out of them, even though I have the feeling I'm buying them all the time.
And things I rarely use are stickers and brads. But unlike you I never ever use skulls or bones or that kind of stuff (spooky/creepy things).
hugs! xx
Fantastic card Holley!! I love hoarding beautiful flowers but rarely use them, I do use a lot of die cuts though and I'm partial to a bit of bling!!
ReplyDeleteHi Holley!!! What a fun card!!! I love to use feathers and lace on my projects. But, the embellishment I use the most are blings!!! Hugs, Laila
ReplyDeleteHi Holley this is a gorgeous card the image is amazing. Hugs Jackie

ReplyDeleteI have a lot of ribbons, washi tapes, sequins and rhinestones and don't use that stuff often enough.
I really don't have a favourite. It will be whatever strikes my fancy at the moment
ReplyDeleteOooh, sassy! LOL! My favorite embellishment is probably flowers and small brads and the embellishment that I don't use but keep buying is ribbon! I just hoard it!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! I use bows a lot but not always ribbon, I like the bakers twine too. I also love sparkles so I do use something that sparkles, might be stickles, pen, jewels, something.(I also love lace.)
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI love to use anything sparkly; bling, glitter, etc...
Gorgeous creation. I'm addicted to buttons and all colouring mediums

ReplyDeleteBeautifully done Holley and I'm a Brad Addict and not looking to get reformed :) hugs Nikki
ReplyDeleteAnother adorable image and the pink skulls are a terrific plus. My favorite embellishment is Button Button Whose got more buttons than little ole me. LOL No one but me I am sure. I can never get enough of Ribbons too I love them especially patterned ones. I am forever buying shaped brads and I think I am an addicted hoarder here, with those LOL. Now that I think of it, I may need to start a 12 step program to detox my hoarding, NOT In this lifetime too much fun!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Holley gorgeous as usual. Hugs Jennifer xx
ReplyDeleteA gorgeous card Holley and a fabulously funky colourway. I love the way the girl is bursting out of the paper.
ReplyDeleteI love all embellishments, from buttons and pearls to die-cuts and flowers but my favourites have to be lace and ribbons. I have three big drawers overflowing with them! x
Love your card, Holley! Is it February already?! I'll have to skip back a couple days!! Meanwhile, I love using sequins and pearls; have almost none left in my stash-yikes!
ReplyDeleteAnd I love buying Cricut cartridges, but I probably have at least four still in their packaging! Not enough room to keep the Cricut out and remind me how fun it is (sigh).
Great card. I am addicted to stickles and anything glittery. I keep buying gellatos but never using, lol.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Sandy

ReplyDeleteWow what a card!Great colors and embellishments!
ReplyDeleteVery neat card. Love the colors too. and that green hair.. and skulls...Awesome. Hmmm. Well I am addicted to keys, and they have to look old... also wood veneer. Hmm what else? Butterflies... Love those too. I dont seem to use enough on my projects lately especially since I have been getting into more mixed media projects and painting on canvas. I still like making cards but I am opening my mind to learn all I can learn in every different type of art and craft I can... LOL
ReplyDeleteLovely card Holley, my favourite embellishments are flowers
ReplyDeleteI always love it when you include skulls, which is also the thing I buy the most of. So embellishments . . . anything with a skull, I also use a lot of charms. I almost never use all the ribbons I though I needed so desperately, lol.
ReplyDeleteI like this one!. the colors just pop off the card.
ReplyDeletelove the card..so cte....gemstones and flowers are always on my cards
ReplyDeleteI love die cuts. Always love a little blog also
ReplyDeleteI seem to be buying a lot of washi tape. I have yet to use it on a project. I have a whole box full though! :)
ReplyDeleteI seem to be buying a lot of washi tape. I have yet to use it on a project. I have a whole box full though! :)
ReplyDeleteI am just now getting to know the different names of stamps and papers. I LOVE them all, and I especially love dies and die cuts! I'm also just getting into journalling, but I am sadly behind on two groups I am in. I am loving quirky and weird stamps, too as long as they are small enough for an ATC or big enough for a card.
ReplyDeleteVery nice and bright card Holley!
ReplyDeleteAs for embellishements I love the decorative buttons and laces..
I love laces, beads, sequins and die cuts... beautiful card Holley... very nice..
ReplyDeleteShe looks great with the green hair. I love die cuts and rhinestones. Have lots of buttons. Rarely used!! Hugz
ReplyDeleteRhinestones are my favorite embellishment ever. They fit anywhere and are good for filling empty spaces.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card, love all the bling :)
Hugs, Rosalee
Hi Holley - right now my favorite embellishments are rhinestones and pearls and coloring them with copic markers to match the images. I love buttons, lace, flowers and ribbon, too.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous. LOve that colour combo and the details with the sentiment and use of diecuts. Thanks for playing at
