Hip Hip Hurray

Here's an awesome image from Limited Runs. I just adore lots of their quirky and cute images including their adorable line of cupcake stamps. I made this monotone theme card today. This great stamp is called Jack in the Cupcake!  How fun is that?

What is your favorite coloring medium right now?  what kind of paper do you use?

I think I still prefer copic markers.  I do so love watercolor pencils or crayons.  I think some of the best quality ones I have played with is Stampin' Ups.  I also love how they make their crayon sets match.  But I use copics about 98% of the time.  It's usally when I have  wide base stamps of large white areas that I use watercolor.

Have you seen the winner list?  It's being updated daily now, CHECK HERE!
Do you see a friend's name on there?  let them know.

  1. Holley,
Your monotone coloring of the "Jack in the Cupcake" focal image is perfect. This image is very cute. For my regular watercolor painting I use Arches cold and hot press papers and use Windsor Newton pan watercolors. I like the pan in lieu of the tube paints. If I don't paint for long periods of time, the tube paints tend to dry up. Love to paint flowers and landscapes. For card making I use the watercolors in crayon form. As an artist, I have tried most mediums except sculpture and prefer watercolors. Don't use copics as they are too expensive for me.

My fav medium is Prismacolour pencils, but my next would be Copics. Regardless of the medium, I use Stampin' Up Whisper White cs

  8. I love your card. What a fun image.
I use mostly Sharpies and Bic Markits right now since I only have a few Copics. I've also been trying Inktense watercolor pencils, but haven't quite got my coloring down with them yet.

  9. Hello, Holley! Your card is adorable! Such a fun image! As for colouring, I wish I could afford Copics as I would love to try them, but I use Prismacolor pencils as my main colour medium. I've also been practising with my watercolour markers lately as I find them a bit tricky to master.

  16. fabulous card, I love it, oh as for coloring, I love it all, but my go to would be my copics, and I love the bristol paper by Fabriano. Next I would say my prismacolors. Have a great day.

My favorite color medium is water color! I absolutely love watercoloring and may need a 12 step program! Doesn't matter if it is watercolor pencils, wet paints or dry paints. ANY watercoloring medium makes me happy!!

  26. Love the monochromatic card. I don't do too much coloring-but watercolor paper and pencils/crayons make my work look better then I could just using regular colors and pencils.

  27. Hi Holley - How cute is that card? I really want to learn how to shade with copic markers. I have been collecting them, but haven't gotten the knack, yet. Right now, I try to make cards that are quick, easy and can be mass produced. But, someday, I will have more time .... maybe.

  34. Really cute card. Just goes to show you don't always have to have brilliant colors to make a fun card.
I've been using the Spectra-Noire but not real happy with them. They seem to dry out way too fast. I would love to try the pan pastels but they're a bit pricey.

  35. Oh so cute!!! Currently my medium of choice is Prismacolor Pencils on Bristol Vellum paper...but I hope to jump into the Copic pool soon

  36. Thank you Holley Now I have to go make some chocolate cupcakes your coloring is just AWESOME by the way my new nickname is Jack and I have a chocolate lips to prove it LOL! I love the way you color just so much life brought into your items daily. I love to use Copic's they are so versatile. I also have some fantastic Stampin up markers a dear friend gave to me I like them also and use them too alot. I have always wanted to try water color pencils but haven't splurged yet. I use a lot of different Cardstock and Paper. My problem is keeping myself supplied with both. Jack in the Cupcake is a perfect name for the picture for sure adorable!!!

Right now I guess Copics would be my favorite coloring medium but I'd love to get more experience in water color. I use a variety of paper. Hard to pick a favorite.

  50. I don't have copics; I've got recently some Manga Kuretake and love them, but I need to improve a lot, so during this weekend I was only using aquarelable pencils, I like the result with them!

  51. This card turned out awesome especially for us chocolate lovers. :-)
I've got lots of different types of mediums, but I seem to go to my colored pencils for my best work. I even invested in Spectrum Noir markers thinking that might change. Maybe I just need more practice.
