I think I still prefer copic markers. I do so love watercolor pencils or crayons. I think some of the best quality ones I have played with is Stampin' Ups. I also love how they make their crayon sets match. But I use copics about 98% of the time. It's usally when I have wide base stamps of large white areas that I use watercolor.

Holley,
ReplyDeleteYour monotone coloring of the "Jack in the Cupcake" focal image is perfect. This image is very cute. For my regular watercolor painting I use Arches cold and hot press papers and use Windsor Newton pan watercolors. I like the pan in lieu of the tube paints. If I don't paint for long periods of time, the tube paints tend to dry up. Love to paint flowers and landscapes. For card making I use the watercolors in crayon form. As an artist, I have tried most mediums except sculpture and prefer watercolors. Don't use copics as they are too expensive for me.

Love this monotone card Holley - I'm working with a lot of browns these days too!
ReplyDeleteMy fav medium is Prismacolour pencils, but my next would be Copics. Regardless of the medium, I use Stampin' Up Whisper White cs
Adorable and beautiful! Love the cupcake! I love to do work with Neenah Solar white Cs and ivory sheets. As an artist, i always try different color mediums. I love different watercolor medium, recently color bursts are my most favorite, love copics too, acrylics for canvas! Wish to work with Zig markers!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card - love shades of brown, perfect image.
ReplyDeleteI like coloring with copics and aquarel pencils, papers I bought from our local store, but I dont remember the brand

I love your card. What a fun image.
ReplyDeleteI use mostly Sharpies and Bic Markits right now since I only have a few Copics. I've also been trying Inktense watercolor pencils, but haven't quite got my coloring down with them yet.
Hello, Holley! Your card is adorable! Such a fun image! As for colouring, I wish I could afford Copics as I would love to try them, but I use Prismacolor pencils as my main colour medium. I've also been practising with my watercolour markers lately as I find them a bit tricky to master.
ReplyDeleteLovely card. I use color pencils.
ReplyDeleteGreat card, I love that you used browns. :)
ReplyDeleteMy favourite are also copics, it's just so calming coloring with them. I really love it :) I use 250gram cardstock usualy in white.
Hmmmm....yummy :) Great card. I usually use promarkers for my colouring. It's very hard to get copics in Poland :(
ReplyDeleteLovely card. Generally, I use my copic markers, but like you, also enjoy my watercolor crayons. I tend to use 110 lb cardstock for stamping and coloring.
ReplyDeleteThis card is so darling! Mostly I use Copics and Hammermill cs, now I'm trying to get the hang of colored pencils, but I do love watercolor pencils as well. Barb
ReplyDeleteI love it! I need some of these. I've never seen this stamp.
ReplyDeletePat R
fabulous card, I love it, oh as for coloring, I love it all, but my go to would be my copics, and I love the bristol paper by Fabriano. Next I would say my prismacolors. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteLOVE this monotone card!!!Reminds me of a sweet milk chocolate dessert! YUMMY! LOL
ReplyDeleteMy favorite color medium is water color! I absolutely love watercoloring and may need a 12 step program! Doesn't matter if it is watercolor pencils, wet paints or dry paints. ANY watercoloring medium makes me happy!!
Just fab Holley. What a fab image x
ReplyDeleteHi Holley I love the tomes of brown on this card and a great image. I mainly use Copic, have watercolour pencils but do not use often, just burgh some Prima Oil Pastelsso have a play. Hugs Jennifer xx
ReplyDeleteI love this card. The image is adorable and I love how you mingled the browns. I don't have any copies, I can't afford them, so I can't say I use them all the time like I would like too. I use watercolor pencils mostly. I also use paints at times.
ReplyDeleteLove this card and fun image! I use copic markers on su white.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute and creative stamp! Love the monochrome. I love my Copics but often do some shading with pencils. Although I have some of the expensive paper, I usually just use 110 card stock from Georgia Pacific that I get at WalMart. xxD
ReplyDeleteSuch a fun image and color palette Holley.
ReplyDeleteLaine

thats great and such fun and who doesnt love a chocolate cupcake love the colours too
ReplyDeleteHi Holley this is a gorgeous card. Take care. Hugs Jackie
ReplyDeleteLove the monochromatic card. I don't do too much coloring-but watercolor paper and pencils/crayons make my work look better then I could just using regular colors and pencils.
ReplyDeleteHi Holley - How cute is that card? I really want to learn how to shade with copic markers. I have been collecting them, but haven't gotten the knack, yet. Right now, I try to make cards that are quick, easy and can be mass produced. But, someday, I will have more time .... maybe.
ReplyDeleteThis is one of the cutest cards!
ReplyDeleteLike you I use mainly copis for colouring, and also Promarkers which are very similar
ReplyDeleteThe image is really cute! I like the monochrome effect very much, but I'm not real proficient at it.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite coloring medium is watercolor paints. I like the control I have, and that there are so many papers I can use it with.

Really cute card. Just goes to show you don't always have to have brilliant colors to make a fun card.
ReplyDeleteI've been using the Spectra-Noire but not real happy with them. They seem to dry out way too fast. I would love to try the pan pastels but they're a bit pricey.
Oh so cute!!! Currently my medium of choice is Prismacolor Pencils on Bristol Vellum paper...but I hope to jump into the Copic pool soon
ReplyDeleteThank you Holley Now I have to go make some chocolate cupcakes your coloring is just AWESOME by the way my new nickname is Jack and I have a chocolate lips to prove it LOL! I love the way you color just so much life brought into your items daily. I love to use Copic's they are so versatile. I also have some fantastic Stampin up markers a dear friend gave to me I like them also and use them too alot. I have always wanted to try water color pencils but haven't splurged yet. I use a lot of different Cardstock and Paper. My problem is keeping myself supplied with both. Jack in the Cupcake is a perfect name for the picture for sure adorable!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the chocolate tones of your fab card! A cupcake in a box is much nicer than a Jack in the box! Xxx
ReplyDeleteA fantastic card, I love this stamp and colour scheme. I mainly use Spectrum Noir markers on Neenah card. I have bought a few Copics as I admired other peoples' work with them but am still practising and building my collection. Cathy x
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful card Holley. That cupcake is fun! :)
ReplyDeleteI love distress inks for colouring (my favourite), but I also enjoy colouring with watercolor pencils and markers. I often use a combination ofnmarkers and watercolor pencils.
Hugs! Xx
Oh that is a unique image, love it and the card! I usually reach for my watercolor pencils and chalks when I have coloring to do. I like the chalks for landscapes and background scenery and watercolor pencils for detailed images.
ReplyDeleteHi Holley, beautiful card.
ReplyDeletemy colours well all sorts of colours just what I think.
and most of the time paper with linnen texture.

What a fun image. A cupcake machine, who wouldn't love to have one of those. I'd certainly gain back all the weight I lost so maybe that wouldn't be such a great idea. LOL! Right now I guess Copics would be my favorite coloring medium but I'd love to get more experience in water color. I use a variety of paper. Hard to pick a favorite.
ReplyDeleteIusually use Neenah Solar White paper. I think Copics are probably my favorite, too, but I also use water color and colored pencils.
ReplyDeleteLove my copics. Haven't really experimented with other coloring mediums much.
ReplyDeleteVery yummy looking creation Holley :-)
ReplyDeleteI love Promarkers and I did buy some Neenah card but I can't find where I put it now :-( I use plain old 180 gm card from my printer's shop :-)

Holley this is so beautiful and I flip between markers to pencils to watercolors and I love to mix them in to one image sometimes also using chalks too. For paper it's mainly white cardstock hugs Nikki
ReplyDeleteI don't have copics; I've got recently some Manga Kuretake and love them, but I need to improve a lot, so during this weekend I was only using aquarelable pencils, I like the result with them!
ReplyDeleteThis card turned out awesome especially for us chocolate lovers. :-)
ReplyDeleteI've got lots of different types of mediums, but I seem to go to my colored pencils for my best work. I even invested in Spectrum Noir markers thinking that might change. Maybe I just need more practice.

That is a super fun image. I have been playing with watercolor. But many times I find myself right back to my alcohol markers.
ReplyDeleteThat's a funny image. Made me smile. Distress inks and a waterbrush are my favourite colouring medium. Paper? Whatever I have handy. Hugz
ReplyDeleteHolley, Wonderful card. My favorite medium to color with is copic markers, I love Heartfelt creations and Graphic 45 papers.
