Spring Chicken

Meet the Spring Chicken!  How cute is this?  This fun image is from artist Sandra Caldwell of BabyCakes DND.  She's adding some awesome images in her store for Easter and St Patrick's Day already.  This one is just TOO cute.  I had to add some fun easter ribbon.

Do you use a lot of word stamps on your cards?  how about alphabets?  do you use saying and sentiments from other embellishments instead?

I seem to be constantly collecting words and sayings, both as embellishments and as stamps. I never really use much alphabets stamps, though I will use alphabet die cuts in my scrapbooks.

  2. Spring chicken. This is great! Love the image. I collect sentiments and use them often on my cards. They add so much to an image. Sometimes I leave the inside blank and just use the sentiment on the fronts. Have a great week!

  3. HeeHee! This made me giggle! Such a cute card and image. I generally do my sentiments on the computer. I stink at real stamping and am afraid I'll screw it up. xxD

  5. This is such a great Easter card. I love this image, so much fun. I don't always add words to projects- if I do I tend to print them though I might use alphabet dies for names. Cathy x

  6. I absolutely love your card Hollie. I can't believe I haven't seen Spring Chicken yet. I will have to find this one. It's adorable and so is your card. It's funny I have a lot of alphabet stamps but most of the time forget to use them. Maybe it would help if I took some out to help me remember.

  7. This card is so much fun! :)
I have to say that I wish I would have more sentiments stamp sets because I think they are really nice touch to a card and I use them alot but I just don't have many.. I just love how it looks in the end, for me card isn't really finished without sentiment :)

  8. Although I have collected lots is alphabet stamps, I very rarely use them. However, I do use my word stamps...mostly sentiment stamps. Love this Easter card, Holley.

  9. Really cute. I rarely use alphabets because I don't like lining up the letters. I do use stamped sentiments but mostly for the card inside. On the front I like using pre made elements.

  10. Boy is the "Spring Chicken" really cute. Sandra Caldwell really comes thru with come cute ones. I use word stamps and have a set of mini word stamps that fit in small places. Only use alpha stamps sometimes. I use die cut sayings and like to use brad sentiments. I do use my alpha die cut set a lot when I need a special saying.

  12. Love this image and how you made it work as an Easter card. You always have such cool ribbons on your cards, too.
I also collect tons of words that I do use often. Unfortunately, I very seldom use my alphabet stamps. That's probably another thing I need to get rid of in my destashing.

  15. Great card- I try to use word stamps on my cards, and rarely use my alphabet stamps. Usually when I don't have a stamp that says what I want it to.

  16. Very cute card. I usually use word embellies and stamps. Not really the alphabet. But occasionally on canvas or in the background I might use them.

  17. It is supercute, love ribbon too :)
I like using sentiment stamps, but as I am from Slovakia, I do not have any sentiment in my language, so I often use alphabet stamps (to shorter sentiments or when adding Name of person) or I use word and print it and add it to card or project.

  18. Hi Holley - this card is so cute! I love using metal embellishments with words, but I can't find them in stores! I had some sympathy ones and used them up. Since I can't find them, I end up stamping my sentiments and layering them for cards. I have only really used alphabet stamps for the word "baby".

  19. I don't use a lot of word stamps other than the Thank You's or Happy Birthdays. I do have 2 alphabets that I like to use. One is normal letters and the other is frog letters. I would enjoy owning more alphabet stamps. Especially the odder ones with figures etc. Very nice card!

  20. Hi Holley, I do use word stamps a lot, but not so much letters to make words. I find I am making my own on the computer a lot more now so I can say anything I want!

  26. How cute is this? Super cute!!! Sandra Caldwell has so many cute images! At first I was unsure if I would like to use some of her images because of the 'sketchy' look...and then I colored my first Sandra Caldwell image and I was in love!!! Her images are super cute, versatile and easy to color. As for the question of the day...I use word and sentiment stamps instead of letter stamps...I have amassed a large quantity of sentiment stamps and I am always searching for new and unique sayings.

  27. That's a real coo-coo rooster. Lol
I don't use alphabet stamps too much.I usually use sayings that come on the clear stamp set.
Sometimes I print out sentiments that I've typed out.

  28. I have a ton of embellishments with words and sentiments and also have a lot of stamps with both as well. But I tend not to use them they way they should be used, not sure if that is because I never think of it, or if I am not sure when to use them.

  29. What a cutie pie chicken :o) I like to use words more than the alpha and I suppose I probably use a lot of both embellishments and stamps too!

  34. I use mostly saying stamps. When I use the alphabet ones it is because I want to use multiple colors or offset the letters from each other.

  35. I have both. I have a few alpha sets, and I have a few sentiment stamps. I have decided I want to get more sentiment stamp sets though. I like them a lot!

I love the chicken a lot!

  38. Haha, that spring chicken is just adorable and so beautifully colored! I do use a lot of sentiment on my cards and have been loving text-based designs lately. Whether it's a bold clean-lined sentiment, or lots of smaller ones, sentiments are my favorite!

  39. OMGoodness, this chicken is too cute! Your card is gorgeous! Love everything about it! As for your question, I love to collect sentiment stamps! For greetings and sentiments, I really only have stamps so that's all I use. I have a few letter stamp sets but I don't use them much - mainly use sentiment stamps.

  51. I really love your Spring Chicken - such a fun image and a fabulous card.
I collect sentiments, phrases, sayings and verses stamps - I never part with them, consequently have a plethora of them - so much so it's hard to find the one that I am looking for at a particular time. Sometime I too leave the greeting off the card so that I can decide what occasion I am going to use it for later.
