It is in herself...

I thought this Unity stamp and sentiment were just perfect for this month's celebration. "It is in herself, She will find the strength she needs."    How great is that.  For someone facing something like brain surgery, it's perfect.  Isn't this a stunning stamp? I just love Unity Stamps and sentiments

Question of the day, ???

do you use die cut/stamp matching sets?  They are super popular and I have a ton of them as prizes because I know so many people love them.

I wish I could say I did, but I just don't ever seem to get them to line up perfectly and I get frustrated with them.  I just fussy cut when I want to cut something out.

You can check the current winner list HERE!
Currently no prizes for Feb 22nd to the 27th contest, go back and comment there if you haven't yet!

  8. Beautiful image and card Holley. I do use matching stamps and dies. I don't like to fussy cut so matching dies are nice. I also have a Scan N Cut but I don't always want to get it out if I'm just making a card or two.

  10. I love this beautiful image and your coloring! Such a lovely card! <3
I'm lazy when it comes to fussy cutting so I would always appreciate having coordinating dies :) It saves me a lot of time but again I don't end up buying them all because of budget!

  11. Gorgeous card! I just love how you color your images!

Just a small tip...If you stamp your image first, and then put a tiny piece of washi tape on the edge of your die, then place it over the image and adhere it to the paper before running it through your cutter so the die doesn't move when you make your sandwich it helps SO much with that alignment. It might help, although it may not work for you. Who knows. Give it a try. I also use this method when die cutting patterned paper when there's a certain part of the image I want in my die-cut shape.

I really DO like the stamp/die combo sets! So convenient! Especially smaller images with fine details. I'm finding my old habds some days just don't like to cooperate to fussy cut anymore.

  14. Lovely card! I have that stamp, but my coloring skills are just at the early stages of development, I can appreciate the beauty of your girl! :) I have been using stamps with matching dies for quite some time. Sometimes fussy cutting is the way to go, but it can be very convenient for multiple elements and multiple copies. I concur with Melody Scraps' tips. :)

  18. Your card is beautiful. I love how you colored her hair. The Turkish lace color coordinates perfectly with your card. The sentiment is amazing. I really love sentiments and images of people. I don't have this one yet but many similar to her. I do love stamp and die sets. I find the magnetic board helps in the cuttlebug along with washi tape to keep the die in place. Also some people cut first then save the negative part in the misti and lay the die cut in the negative piece.

  19. As usual, your card is cute. I do use die cuts often. But I always have trouble when paired with a stamp. So I tend to use dies that do not go with stamps.

  20. Green beauty with a unique sentiment!
I totally love coordinating die set with stamps, it made work so easy peasy. But I love fussy cutting too many times!

  21. What a really pretty card and sentiment. Perfect pick-me-up card. I love matching dies and stamps. If you have a stamp platform, try die cutting a "template" from thin chipboard or heavier cardstock then die cut some "blanks" (that will fit into the template like a puzzle piece). Fit the stamp into the die cut "hole" close the platform lid to adhere the stamp to the plate; insert the blanks and stamp.

I like both coordinating dies to go with stamps and stand alone dies!

  26. Love the card, she is beautiful. I do use die cuts to match stamps, but it has to be metal die. That is only way I know how to cut. Or fussy cut, but I am not too good cutting. Love to paper piece so I fussy cut them to fit stamp too

  27. Beautiful card and I agree it is so perfect for the celebration!! I love Unity!. I do use matching stamps and dies. It makes it easier to not have to fussy cut cause my hands get sore quick. But I do agree sometimea its hard to get them lined up right.

  28. It's perfect for the celebration. I don't tend to use die and stamp combos now, but when I did, cutting first really helped, as did using the negative to help line up the stamp xoxo

  32. this is so nice!
no I dont use matching dies because I dont know how!
    always do something wrong.
so I just fussy cut my image.

  33. Wow Holley, this is just gorgeous! I love the green tones and that is an awesome sentiment. I do like stamps and matching dies, because I run out of time (and patience) with fussy cutting. My favorites are the Mama Elephant, Lawn Fawn and other cute critter sets, but I also saw a Coffee set and fun Sizzix flamingo set.

I sometimes have to cut my image a little bit if it cuts crooked, but at least I don't have to cut the whole thing out!

  36. Your card has such a peaceful feel with the soft green and I do really like that beautiful trim. Yes, I do like matching stamp and die sets, as it makes it easy to put a card together. I usually stamp and die cut my images and color them when I have free time. That way I can put a card together as needed.

  37. Oh Holley, this card is just exquisite and so beautiful. I love that Unity image and the way you colored her up. The colored lace adds a gorgeous touch too.
I do like stamp and dies sets, but it does seem to take a little practice to get them all lined up. I find that stamping first and then die cutting is key. Simple images like the Mama Elephant and LDRS type are the easiest for cut for me.

  38. I love this image and sentiment. I've been using green lately as well. I guess I want spring to come here soon. I only have one set of stamps with dies and I haven't had a chance to use it yet. I'll have to try it soon.
