Gorjuss Girl

Always time for a Gorjuss Girl Stamp. I just love this artist's work, as I guess you could clearly tell given my blog design.  This artist is just amazing.    Here's one of her stamps and I added a wonderful uplifting sentiment for the day "Learn from yesterday, Live for Today, Hope for Tomorrow."
I hope this makes everyone smile today.  I can remember when I had such long long brown hair.  Right before my brain surgeries, I had just over 2 foot (yep, TWO FEET WORTH) of hair cut off so they would donate it to Locks of Love and it could be used for wigs.  That put my hair super short before surgery.  Of course doctors will tell you that you don't "have" to cut your hair, but I will also just laugh and say they shaved a huge line straight down center of my head like a reverse mohawk (and several other places).  Hair was about the last thing that mattered at the time to me.  For me, it was just amazing getting my BRAIN fixed and it if some other person could get hair, then that's great.  But to give the hair, I had to go before my surgery and get it cut at a salon.

Project Materials:  Cardstock (Bazzill, Neenah); Printed Paper (unsure);  Image (Gorjuss Girls;  Saying--I think--Hero arts);  Ink (Memento, Colorbox Chalk); Flowers (Prima); Brads (Basic Grey); Die cuts (Spellbinders Nestabilities);  Color (Copic Markers); Adhesives (Pop dots, Glue All, Glue Dots);

  1. Holley that is so sweet of you to have given your hair to someone else and 2 feet would make one pretty wig for some lucky person.
    Honestly who wants to look like a friar yikes. I'm glad your all fixed up and you can always get a wig or a saucy pixie cut :)

  3. "Gorjuss" card - this is my fav so far. I love these stamps, as they have so much personality. And bless you for donating your hair. With all that you had to face with your own surgery, you were generous enough to donate to the Locks of Love ...

  19. I had to comment today... I have been subscribing to your blog for quite sometime. You had made a post a while back about your surgeries and mentioned Texas, so I spent several hours perusing your blog and found out you are in Austin (I'm in Round Rock). You are a huge inspiration to me. To go through everything you have gone through and having such a positive outlook and then being crazy talented.... well, I became even more hooked. I wanted to comment, but then didn't want you to think I was some crazy stalker lady, so I have been keeping quiet! I love your blog and your craftiness. Thank you for sharing your magic and inspiration. Kim
