Winter theme Bestie

Here's a darling card today using a beautiful stamp from Sherri Baldy.  Her store is called My Besties and she makes the cutest little girl stamps and wonderful coloring books!  Check out her amazing site HERE: http://www.mybestiesshop.com/store/c1/Featured_Products.html

The contest over on the SSS Challenge blog this week is to create a winter theme card, drop by the SSS Challenge blog and share your best Sherri Baldy creations and you could win some wonderful stamps from her!

Questions of the day:  Do you like big eye stamps?  Little girl stamps?  what type do you prefer?

My husband tells me that some stamps look a little creepy to him including those that don't have noses or mouths (Like Magnolia or Gorjuss Girls).  I just LOVE those stamps!

NOTE:  If you didn't leave comment on Feb 1st,  please go back and do so as winners will get picked from there everyday! CLICK HERE.  Also winners have not been picked from the 6th through the 11th yet if you haven't commented on those days.  Check the winner list HERE.

  1. What a cute card! It reminds me of my granddaughter walking around the house in winter. She loves her hat and boots! I haven’t used stamps like this before - am intimidated by the coloring.

  5. Great job on your card.  Especially love the lace you used.  I don't use people on my cards.  Not a big fan of big eyes.

  6. I love the big eye stamps, the little girl stamps no no nose or mouth stamps. My kids have said my Magnolia girls look creepy but it has never stopped me from using them. I just tell them thT they are angels and don’t need the nose or mouth. That’s the explanation I was given.

  8. I like seeing Big Eye creations that others make but not inspired to create with them myself! I prefer color layering Florals and other images most of all! Especially from Altenew and Hero Arts! TFS!

  12. Another beauty!
I am not really into using people on my cards, since I am not good at coloring them. So I don't like big eyes on people, but I think they can be cute on animals :)

  13. You always color these girls perfectly but I'm just terrible at it! I actually like the Gorjus girls because they are fairly simple and a bit easier to color. However, I don't care for big-eyed girls or girls with long eye-lashes. I prefer either more realistic or plain looking images.

  16. I absolutely adore what you do with all these super cute images you find, but I don't really do people much. When I do, I prefer them to be one of three things. Either very realistic, Zetti like Teesha Moore's creations or freaky like the ones from Daniel Torrente at Stampotique. Today's card is another hit btw! That lace is just too gorgeous for words!

  17. Hi Holley - I love them all! I just wish I could color like you! I thought you had a link to coloring instructions. Can you post it? I love the big eye girls, cute stamps for kid birthday- dogs and cats, too.

  18. Adorable! This card reminds me of my granddaughter- she loves her hats and boots. Both big eye and little girl stamps are cute. I haven’t used any - probably because I’m challenged in the painting department- haha.

  25. Your coloring skills are fabulous Holley and you always color people so well. I don't usually work with these big-eyed girl stamps or anything by Sherri Baldi but you rock them! I prefer vintage people designs, or images like those by My Favorite Things.

  26. You are a pro at coloring those big-eyed girls but don't go for them myself. In fact, I tend to like girl stamps with tiny eyes...haha! (like Gorjus, My Favorite Things, etc).

  27. This little girl reminds me of my two in the winter. They love boots and hats! I don't buy the big-eyed girl stamps and can barely color animals, much less girls! I either like super simple images or stamps with all the shading already done, lol.

  28. What a lovely card Holley. I love these big eye girl stamps- I used to be on a Bestie DT- but rarely colour these days. I have to agree with your husband, I find Gorjuss girls a bit creepy too! Cathy x

  31. Depends on the images forms if I like em or not some have the reflections wrong and that bothers me a lot sometines

  32. Nope, nope, nope. I agree with your husband. I do not like big eyes, so creepy to not have a nose, no little girl stamps here. I do like quirky people images, my favorite being a woman with a cabinet for your body, lol. Not sure where I found that one as it is years old but possibly Uptown or Rubber Baby Buggy Bumpers

  34. This is darling. I use lots of little girl stamps because I send cards to several little girls. The big eyes are not always my favorite, but it depends on the image. I prefer my people to have noses and mouths and normal eyes.
