Take the Leap

Here's another great image from Sherri Baldy today.   This image comes from my favorite stamp line that she creates, Fluffy girl.  This image is called Scan0010.  How cute is she?  She really makes me smile, check her out in the Fluffy section of the www.MyBestiesShop.com.  I love the sentiment "Take the LEAP and build your wings on the way down."  Now, think about that.  Way easier said than done.

I am also using some great Turkish lace on this card and a simple embossed flower as decoration.  I also had someone ask about the lace I used yesterday, it also came from my trip to Turkey.

Question of the day: do you use the matching stamps and die cuts together?  Many sets now come with stamps and dies that match up.   Almost every company now makes dies that match with their stamps.

I personally have such a hard time lining them up properly that I often don't use them, but I know they are hugely popular so I got a lot of them for the giveaway this year.

Have you checked the winner list todayclick here  There's a lot of winner's that I have not heard from!!  Did you sign up on the previous days?  Be sure to leave a comment on the 1st, winners are chosen from that day each day of the month.  No winners have been chosen from Feb 15th-19th yet

  2. Love the color combo on your card, and that gorgeous lace!
I do like the stamp and die combos! Sometimes when they are offered separately, I opt to get just the stamp set. It depends on the design whether I think I'll get much use out of the dies. But I do like having the option of getting the dies. I've seen some good tips for getting them lined up.

  3. Your card is too cute. Love the lace you used. I do like the stamp and die sets. Often I stamp and die cut off my project, then add them later to my card or project. Right now I am working on making Easter embellishments, but I ran out of light weight cardboard, i.e. cereal boxes.

  5. BEEEEEUUUUUUTIFUL card! If I can afford both stamp and die sets then I will definitely use them! I really hate cutting everything out by hand! Unfortunately I most often don't buy the dies because they are usually so darn expensive!

  7. Love the blue lace. I prefer to spend my money on the stamps first, but if I can afford it I get the matching dies. Sometimes it's easier to cut the piece and then stamp it. Lining up can be fiddly. Love stamps and dies. HUgz

  8. A lovely card! I do have some stamps and dies and I love using them. I probably don't use them often enough. They can be pretty expensive so that deters me from getting a lot.

  9. This is a gorgeous card and I LOVE the sentiment- words of wisdom for both children and adults. I really like stamps and matching a dies. I line them up as best I can (the magnetic platform helps) and go for it. Love the convenience of not having to fussy cut.

  10. Beautiful coloring job on that image! I only have 1 set of stamps that have dies that came with them. It's an architectural set and I have only played with it once or twice. It was fun tho'. If it were a different subject/theme it would probably get more use, lol!

I like to use the stamps, but I have not a cutter machine to use the dies. Although it is always noce to see the way another masters do that, and I am glad for them.

  16. Such a fun, colorful card! Love the added flowers. I do enjoy the stamps and matching die cuts - though, I admit, some can be very hard to line up - In those cases, I stick with fuss cutting the stamps

  22. Such a sweet card. I am really liking your Turkish lace. It reminds me of Turkish Delight from The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. I do enjoy using my matching dies and stamps. It is so much easier than fussy cutting. Although, I don't mind fussy cutting. I always liked paper dolls.

  24. I don’t have many sets of matching stamps/dies. The few times I’ve tried it has been hard to line everything up. I don’t mind fussy cutting as I have been doing it for many years.

  27. What a cute image. I actually laughed out loud for this one. Great card.
I do use stamps and dies that are coordinated. Sometimes the dies don't line up with the stamp easily and I find that frustrating, but I still use them.

  28. Oh, what a little cutie on this card! I love the colorful flowers and uplifting sentiment too. Yes, I do use stamps that have matching dies, although I am still learning how to line them up with the images. Thank goodness for washi tape to give a removable bond.

  35. I used to fussy cut all the time and not worry about finding stamps with matching dies but once I tried a few I was hooked. I especially like them for making multiples of cards, for a quick and easy process. Your Fluffy card is so adorable and full of fun!

  42. This is such a happy, colorful card! I love the blue lace!
The sentiment is very inspiring but I agree, not always easy to do. It's hard to be brave.
I love using stamps with matching dies. Cutting images with scissors hurts my hands so I was thrilled when cutting machines hit the market. LOL.

  43. so nice card
no I dont use coordinating dies. to much money for me

  44. That girl image is darling. I do not use stamps with matching dies regularly. I have very few. The investment is just too much for me.

  45. Beautiful lace and love that shade of blue...I don't have any matching stamps and dies as I mainly use digi images, but I would image they would be awesome to use instead of fussy cutting!

  46. That is one fabulous quote! It's so not me, though. LOL Gotta have all my ducks lined up before I give it a shot. I rarely purchase the coordinating dies because I don't mind fussy cutting. It's kind of therapeutic. xxD

  47. Such a cute image. And I love the lace you keep using. Its so pretty. I do sometimes use stamps and dies together .but not always. I fussy cut alot still.

  48. This card is lovely. I love the color combo, the image, and definitely the lace. I don't use the matching stamp/die sets very often. I like the flexibility of being able to use the shape in different ways. The one time I like the set is when the stamp puts finishing touches on the die cut. For example, I've seen many Disney and Harry Potter dies that have a tiny stamp to finish the face.

  49. Fluffy girl is very cute!

I have used the stamps and die sets together. I only have 1 set of them though... They are a bit tricky I agree.
