HedgeHog Love--More Blog candy quest

Here's the cutest little heart shaped card with a pair of adorable little hedgehogs. Such a sweet little couple that I had to include them on this valentine card. I think ground hog day yesterday made me think of them.

Project Materials: Cardstock (Studio G, Neenah); Rubber Stamps (Hedgehogs-Studio G; Heart-The Angel Company); Ink (Memento; Colorbox Chalk); Adhesives (Pop dots);

So, for a prize today, the question is, how many staples did it take after surgery to reclose my head? I will tell you that they cut from the left ear all the way to the back of my skull up to the top and around to the center of my forehead. So the size opened would be larger than my hand, at least 1/3 to 1/2 of my head. After the 2nd surgery they used large metal staples to close the skull back together; (and no, they give you no pain killer when they yank those suckers out of your head!!) Add a user comment to guess the number of staples that it took......

Today's winner gets a cute stamp set from Stampendous Perfectly Clear Stamps Called Button Border--an adorbale "stitching" set. Lol, see I have a sense of humor!! see photo of the prize, click here; WINNER: Jan L!!!!

Want to see the photos? Here's to photos that show SOME of surgery and me now! CLICK HERE

  2. I hope people aren't guessing because it make them uncomfortable. I would hope with the wonderful results that this surgery gave me, they would understand that no matter how many staples it too, it was worth it!! Will give a link to a pick AFTER the contest (to both show it and to show how you can't even tell now!)

    So Make your guesses! Thanks for yours Julye!!

  36. My god! 81?? I am stunned. my nephew had to undergo operation on his skull after suffering a fracture in a road accident. I remember how scared we were before the operation.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I was able to guess close to the total because my late husband had about a million staples in his head after surgery for a brain tumor. He had a very long incision, as well.

  38. Holley,
    I know the contest is closed but I just wanted to tell you I adore these little Hedgehogs. Yes, they do remind me of Groundhog Day which btw said spring was going to come early because he didn't see his shadow. He didn't see his shadow because when he came out the hole he was still buried under 3 feet of snow! Any ways, cute card.
