Cute as a button

Here's the sweetest image ever from artist Sherri Baldy!  There's a wonderful contest going on over at Scrapbook Stamp Society Challenge Blog.  This challenge is to create a shaped card.  Here's my card for the current challenge using an adorable image with a purple and yellow combo (and a hint of orange too!).

Totally some of my favorite colors and a bunch of my favorite embellishments as well, buttons and flowers with a little bling and die cuts!

Out of curiosity, do any of you scrapbook? do you scrapbook as much as you make cards or vice versa?  I guess since I don't have kids (due to all the medical problems that weren't fixed until age 40), so I rarely scrapbook unless we had a vacation or some other special event.  Of course there's a lot of overlap in the materials we use card makers and scrapbookers....

    Lovely shaped card. Iam making my very first scrapbook for my neighbor, who will be in March celebrated 50 years. For now it looks good....

    I wish I could scrapbook more than I do, but I have not enogh stuff for this, also it is a problem to get any rubber stamps for cardmaking here even..

    I used to scrapbook but I haven't for at least 3 years. My kids scrapbooks are so behind you have no idea. Wish there was some way to get me to do it again.

    wow! I love this cute girl! The card is adorable!!
    Well, to get a time for scrapbooking is not easy if you are working 12 hours per day daily, plus the time to come back home, cook, clean, etc... But I try to make anything on weekends if this is a day off (seldom)... Of course to use any special punches, masks, stencils, etc. would help a lot, but I have not any, and this makes me sad.. But the creation gives me so much good emotions in any way. :)

    Yes, it is really cute! The buttons maybe so bright and good as like this card is..
    I wish I had some Copics to colour the same.. I love the cardmaking and scrapbooking, but scrapbooking demands a lot of special stuffs as like the papers, embellishments to be done as well and be interesting in the end..

    I LOVE this card, Holley. Yes, they are totally yours colors! I do scrapbook. I used to create layouts more than I did cards, but scrapbooking takes chunks of dedicated time, while cards are fast. So I usually only scrapbook when I can run away with my photos and supplies for a whole day or even a weekend crop.

    LOVE this colorful card! I am not a scrapbooker mainly because none of us likes our picture taken. I am trying to get at least one or two pictures of the grandchildren and their daddies whenever we get together though! I have had to become quite inventive on ways to get them to allow me to take pictures but they are getting better about it!
    I love making cards, altered art and am starting to get into painting. Talk to you soon!

    This one is my favorite so far. I love the purples with the yellow. The way you colored the flowers on the image is awesome. As for the answer to your question. Not much scrapbooking for me... I dabble every now and then.

    I usually scrapbook more than make I make cards. I guess my thing about cards is you do all this awesome work for someone to toss it in the bin in the next few days as with a layout it is forever in my album. I only make cards for a few really special people in my life that I know cherish them.

    Adorable card. This is a really cute Image and I love the colors you chose. I have done some scrapbooking but not alot. I make cards and tags more and lately I have been messing around with other things like mixed media on canvas. I also want to try other things. But I am more to make a card than scrapbook.

    That is awesome! I wouldn't know how to mail that though but it is still awesome. I love the colors. I scrapbook more than card making although it isn't a huge difference since I have 12 grandchildren alone, (13th will be here any day). I am forever making cards since it is always someone's birthday.

    Oh my, this card is so adorable! Love the purple and yellow together and you're right about that being the cutest image ever!! I do scrapbook a little, but with 2 young kids I usually have to stick to quick projects, like cards!

    I love Sherri Baldy and I love purple, so this is a card for me!! So beautiful. All the elements work perfectly together. I started scrapbooking then started making cards. Now I make more cards than scrapbooks.
