Here's a delightful stamp from The East Wind. I adore this cute cat and added the perfect sentiment for this month, "Celebrate the everyday!" How great is that. I also just LOVE this piece of Turkish lace that I added. Usually i goto the lace stores in the lace district and get whole packages of lace (like 5meters or 10meters), but sometimes and often I will go to the pazaars (like a bazaar, but bazaars are permanent structures and pazaars are put up daily in different areas of town.) Well, sometimes you go to the pazaar and in different pazaars you will find a whole area there that does lace, row after row of laces (think flea market). It's just awesome. The pazaars may sell pieces or small portions of lace (remnants) for just a lira (which right now is about USA 14 cents). How fun is that?

I love adding sentiment stickers and dimensional stickers but seem to avoid chipboard and alphabets personally

Oh Holley, this is so beautiful. I love everything from the patterned paper in green and white (so fresh looking), the unique lace and that gorgeous image. From your description of the pazaars, I can see why you had to buy extra luggage just for the lace.
ReplyDeleteI don't use many stickers, but when I do it's often the layered ones. I like a bit of dimension, but not too much bulk. Some of the layered stickers are much to thick to mail.
Oh, I love eberything in green... :) I always wonder where do you het so many ideas for your cards and using the establishments? I like all!!!

ReplyDeleteI very rarely use stickers. I do admire the Jolees 3d stickers and have been known to buy them occasionally, but I hardly ever use them! I just never remember to incorporate them into a card.

ReplyDeleteOh! Perfect combination of paper, lace and art! Love the way she is holding her, kitty, too.I like flat and 3 D stickers, and really want to do more with sentiment stickers. Sometimes I like chipboard but rarely....I do like little wooden accents much better.

ReplyDeleteYour amazing coloring brings this card to life! The lace is really pretty. How fun to be able to buy it in small pieces - great way to build a collection. I use a limited amount of stickers on my cards, more in scrapbooking. 3D ones tend to damage pages when the scrapbook is closed if they’re really puffy, so I’m careful about those. I don’t use chipboard very much, unless it’s part of a paper suite - decorated, but relatively thin.

ReplyDeleteSuch a bright and hopeful card. Gotta love the lace, though. Had never heard of pazaars before but they sound amazingly fun. I used to hit flea markets all the time in the spring and summer. There are always truly wonderful treasures to find. I like stickers but tend to stay with flat ones. I use them on envelopes, inside and out, too. Hope the utilities are coming back on line in your area and the stores are stocked. Hugs, Barbara

ReplyDeleteI do use stickers on my cards. I go in spells where I use them quite a bit. I esp love the beautiful layered ones that are still mailable. I use flat ones, too, though. I like fancy image stickers and sentiment stickers, but don't really use alphabets.

Lovely card and great image! I don't use stickers or chipboard. If a paper pad comes with sentiments on the paper, I'll try to find a way to use them so as not to waste the paper.

ReplyDeleteNow, about stickers. I have quite a few, and I almost never use them. Every couple of years I go through all the stickers I've been sent and donate a whole bunch. I know a lot of people love using them, but I just don't seem to be one of them. Sorry.
The lace is just amazing and reminds me of waves. The girl is so pretty with such beautiful eyes. The green is magnificent! I have a few of the 3d stickers, they are great and I need to remember to use them more!

ReplyDeleteI use tons of 3D stickers but on my layouts. I accent my cards with older than 20 yrs, flat stickers, like Mrs. Grossmans of hot water bottles, hearts, and stethoscopes to accent the images I am using.
