Happiness Blooms

Sharing this adorable Bear stamp from Hetty Clare today.  Don't you love him?  I think he's just perfect for February.  I added a sentiment from the Paper Loft, "Happiness blooms from within."  I added some gorgeous Turkish lace to go on the card.  This piece I bought as a remnant, I couldn't ever find it as a whole package, I totally wish I had gotten more of it.

QUESTION OF THE DAY: Do you use die/stamp combos?  i.e. those stamp and die sets where you stamp the image and then line up the die to cut out the stamped image?  (eliminating fussy cutting).

I haven't picked winners for Feb 14-Feb 19th, so if you haven't left a comment on those days, go back and leave one to be in the drawing!

Have you signed up on Feb 1st?  prizes are drawn from there every day this month, so be sure to leave a comment there!  GO THERE

  8. The sentiment is such a good one, and your bear is precious! Gorgeous lace as well! I do use stamp and die combos when I have them, but I am one who enjoys fussy-cutting so I don't seek out coordinating dies for my stamps. Thanks again, and enjoy your weekend!

  9. That is a wonderful sentiment. The bear reminds me of my great niece who just learned to blow kisses! Lovely lace, I can see why you wanted to get more of it. I do use stamp and die combos when I have them. But I don't mind fussy cutting. I think it's relaxing for some reason :)

Answer: Love having both stamp and die but not a must have. Love fussy cutting and if it becomes too much then I get the die for it.

  33. That bear is darling but I absolutely love the stunning lace you used! I do like to use stamp and Die sets . Since my accident I shake a lot and do not have a lot of strength in my hands so it is really hard to fussy cut. The dies really help me a lot.

  41. SUCH a cute card!! Like everyone else I LOVE the lace!!

I use stamp-and-die combos but only to a point. I don't like them if there's a white border around the stamped image, so I either buy sentiments (where I want the border so the words stand out) or Stamps of Life because they give you the die that lines up exactly AND the shadow!

  42. Gorgeous card. Cute bear and wow that white lace is so pretty. I do have some stamp/die combos but if it's a choice between matching dies or a totally different stamp set I'd spend my money on more stamps, or stand alone dies. A matching die is a really expensive way to cut out an image, unless you want a lot of the same cuts, and quite honestly, I rarely do. I don't usually like the border the dies leave and I love fussy cutting. But I don't have anything against them if they are included with a set I really want. Hugz
