QUESTION OF THE DAY:

what's your favorite card background color?  I love to use browns, whites, red, oranges, yellows.  I think they call these colors warms and neutrals.

  1. That is a beautiful image and sentiment, Holley! Gorgeous coloring and beautiful lace. I love all colors, so I don't have a favorite for backgrounds. I do find myself using a lot of grays, browns, blues, and deep reds.
Thank you for all the fun this month!!

  6. I was looking at my stack of cards that I have to send this week and all of them have dark card bases and patterned paper. The colors are all over the spectrum. How funny is that? This card is beautiful with the Unity stamp. Lovely.

  10. I love Unity - I think I have more stamps from them than any other company. Your card is beautiful - can't go wrong with any of their lady images or Angie Girls. I don't have a favorite color for a BG. I enter challenges with my cards so it just depends on what the particular challenge is to govern the BG choice.

  11. I love Unity as well, and I truly admire this card, and amazing lace paired to perfection with how you colored the image. I love white and kraft, and otherwise do enjoy yellows, marine blues and soft greens, and pinks....

  15. Nice card, Holley! Love Unity stamps! I use a lot of printed scrapbook papers for my backgrounds. The small 6x6 pads are my favorite. Adding a saying and some embellishments with ribbon or lace complete the card!

  16. Gorgeous card Holley. Love the colours and Unity Girls. Hmmm, card base colours are whatever I have that fits. Probably blue, black and white are most used, with a good splattering or red, green, brown and yellow. Hugz

  20. Beautiful card! Your coloring is amazing as always. I use white or bold colors as my card base and love to add designer paper prints to tie the colors together. Assortment packs/pads of paper make it really easy to complete the card.

  21. Your card is absolutely gorgeous and has such a serene feel. The kraft background is a favorite of mine too but I often use a white card base, or shades of blue, gray, or even black.

  22. Oh what a beautiful card Holley! So serene and reflective. I tend to make pretty clean and simple cards but sometimes so white is my most common background color. I do enjoy playing with techniques and using them for backgrounds as well as tossing in the occasional colored background (still pretty neutral).

  32. Beautiful job on this card. I love that you don't overdo your cards so much that it distracts from the main image.
I guess I go more towards the neutral colors on my background cardstock. I used to experiment a lot with darker colors, but then I need to add a lighter piece to the inside anyway to be able to write a message that can be seen. I can't wait to see all the new stuff you'll be showcasing this month!
