Here's a gorgeous stamp from artist Terra Biddlespacher. I totally love this artist's images! I don't know if she is currently selling her images at her Etsy store, but she used to have multiple stores selling her images in rubber. I am thankful to have gotten some awesome stamps before they were gone.
Hope you all are having a great weekend, Yesterday I started the winner list, so if you haven't checked, go back to yesterday's posting and take a peek. if you haven't posted comments on the earlier Feb postings, please do so as the winners for the earlier days this month are about to be chosen!!
So, hmmm, what shall we talk about today?
Epilepsy affects more people than multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy and Parkinson's combined – yet receives fewer federal dollars per patient than each of these. About 50,000 Americans will die annually from Epilepsy (ie Status Eplipeticus, SUDEP, accidents from seizure activity); That's higher than number of people who die from breast cancer. When you have uncontrolled epilepsy, your mortality rate is 2 to 3 times higher than that of the general population.
Now you know why at age 40 I never thought I would be alive. I am so very grateful every year that I have now. I was not only that person with epilepsy, but the person with uncontrolled epilepsy. The one who took 4 different medications plus medications to stem the side effects of my medications. I was also the person who would look at the medical chart on the back of my doctor's door and realize that I had taken just about EVERY kind of pill on there. I was quickly running out of options.
Never cease to be grateful for what you are given, be it the day it's given to you or 5 years later. Life is so precious!!
So, hmmm, back to what we should chat about today, what's your favorite stamp topic? for me....sexy ladies, cute girls, funny or funky images, puns or silly sentiments
Very pretty card, and beautifully coloured! I appreciate the information on epilepsy - it's really not talked about much. Very easy question today - my favourite stamp topic is cats! I also enjoy other cute animals and butterflies. Wishing you a wonderful weekend!

Lovely card Holley, my favourite is vintage
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card, loving the image.
ReplyDeleteI adore many stamps, I tend to collect more female stamps than any, sentiments are always great to have at hand!
I know quite a few people with Epilepsy including close relatives, thanks for sharing, it is great to hear others stories and facts, you don't hear about it as often as we should, there should be more awareness. x
Another sassy card with a great color combo! Love red, white and black together. As for my favorite stamp images, those would probably be vintage collages and house or scenery stamps. I make a lot of masculine cards so am always looking for masculine images!
ReplyDeleteA great card, Holley. I love the sentiment. I tend to do cards for family who seem to like puns and humor, so I usually look for an image that I can match with a funny sentiment or pun.
ReplyDeleteCute sentiment and beautiful coloring Holley! I like clean graphics and cute animals the most!

ReplyDeleteThanks Holley for sharing your work with us just darling. My son had a seizure once while driving on an interstate from Florida to Ohio. He had never had one before this and his wife thought he was clowning around and then realized it was for real. He went the hospital in Kentucky from there and then they both a few years later went to nursing school to give back to help others. She works at a heart hospital and he works in ICU at another hospital. I am very proud of both of them especially him. He conquers all things tossed to him just amazing much like you! My favorite stamp topic is large eyed girls and guys of all ages. They just make a page or card perk right up. My other very favorite is anything medical from equipment to body parts to everything in between just marvelous!
ReplyDeleteI love the sexy ladies as well, there just seems to be something empowering about them
ReplyDeleteI love your cars too Holly, they are very bright and colorful. My daughter had a seizure once when she was 15, dr.s said it was a freak thing. Kept her from driving for two years to make sure. Turns out they were right, thank God! We are Blessed that you are still with all!
ReplyDeleteA fabulous card Holley and a gorgeous image. The sentiment is brilliant too. I love pretty stamps. I wish I could do justice to the sexy ones like you do.
ReplyDeleteYour facts on epilepsy are interesting. It's such a little talked about condition here in the UK as well and doesn't seem to generate the attention or fundraising it deserves.
There is always something to be grateful for and saying thank you should be as easy as breathing. I'm very thankful for some fabulous news I received yesterday x
I like this one ,,,, cheeky....
ReplyDeleteMy preference to stamps are scenery, floral stuff and things for kids.

ReplyDeletenice to know these info about epilepsy.. tfs... I love flowers, flourishes, background images...
ReplyDeleteLove your sassy girl. I think I like cute and prefer animal stamps to people. Probably because I feel happier colouring animals than people. Interesting about the epilepsy. I think this is one of the hidden illnesses. I don't think I know anyone with epilepsy. It's not so visible and most people don't realise how serious it can be. I think cancer is so high profile because it affects a lot of people and even the word is scary fo most people. It's good you talk about it here and give us something to think about. Thanks. Hugz
ReplyDeleteLovely card. When it comes to stamping, my favorite topics are floral, sentiments and kid inspired.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Rosalee
Hi Holley - right now my favorite stamps are ones with framelits that match! I also like cute sayings, punny sayings, flowers, people, critters, etc etc
ReplyDeleteHmmm, I just scrolled down and think I missed this card somehow. It is very pretty and I am so interested in reading about epilepsy (thanks for sharing the information). My favorite stamps are images of fantasy that are realistic. By that I mean they don't look like a cartoon but more like a real person and they are subjects like fairies, (even people with wings such as angels). That also includes a unicorn, Pegasus, or even just a person in a tropical garden with butterflies and/or hummingbirds....yeah, I know....probably sounds odd but I really love images like that.
ReplyDeleteI pray every day that cures will become a reality for such horrible illnesses.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE owls especially whimsy ones! Birds, too. My favorite bird is the hummingbird. I put a feeder right near my window every summer so I can see them up close and personal. They are so mystical!
How cute and sassy! I am a flower person, I love coloring flowers for my projects.
