Get Well card

Here's a sweet get well card for the upcoming contest at Outlawz Monday Greetings Challenge.  It will get posted late tonight and started tomorrow. The theme is to create a get well card.  Our wonderful sponsor this week is Di's Digi Stamps who made this lovely image  Happiness is a Beary Daisy.  I made this card for a dear church friend who has been in the hospital lately.

What's your favorite card size?  I seem to be stuck with 6x6 (though I trim them just a little to make sure they will fit in the 6x6 envies when I am done).  Other than cards is there something you like to create?

Have you seen the winner list?  It's being updated daily now, CHECK HERE!
Also, if you didn't comment on Feb 1st, be sure and go back to that day to comment, prizes are still be drawn from Feb 1st and grand prizes will get drawn from there.

  1. This is so adorable, Holley! Your friend will smile and feel better for sure. I usually stick to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2. Standard A2. Square cards take extra postage so I don't make too many of them. Have a wonderful week!

  2. Beautiful and Cheerful image! I usually create standard sized card(41/4"x 51/2") which fit to envelop easily and sometimes I made bigger than normal size then I made my own designer envelops!
    Have a beautiful day!

  3. Such a cute card...sure to cheer your friend up!!! The cards I make are odd sizes because I match card size to the envelopes I have on hand. I get my envelopes the day after a holiday from the greeting card representatives. Did you know they just toss the envelopes away and usually will give them to you free... if you ask nicely...lol So, if I'm in town, I always check the greeting card section the day after a holiday to see if the rep is pulling cards. Do I create other things? Yes!!! I am always trying new crafts and art mediums. I love, love, LOVE making things with my hands, my mind and my heart!!! <3 <3 <3

  5. This is so adorable. You do so well will your yellows. Your church friend will love it. I like making odd sized cards. Anywhere between 4x4 and 6x6. Other than cards I love making art journals, mixed media projects especially on canvas and really anythingnew to try it. As long as its artsy of course.

  6. Such a bright and cheerful bear he's a cutie .
I make a lot of A2 cards but I also love making square cards. Lived making 5.5 inch ones but I like mini ones 4 - 4.5 so they fit in a standard envelope flat which is great. Love making bookmarks and ATC when it comes to paper crafts

  7. Look at this adorable mousey ... Too cute! <3 I bet your friend will aboslutely love this card. it's really sweet of you to be thinking of her and making this for her. :)
My cards are 14x14 cm (approx. 5.5 inch). Other than cards I love making mini albums too. They are a bit time consuming to make, but once they are done, you can see it was worth the effort! :) And I make paper gift bax/boxes too. Also, I've trying to learn to crochet (but am not getting very far with that lol), and I like to make a piece of jewelry every now and then too.
    Hugs! xx

  25. What an adorable cardamom! It makes me feel better too, so I am certain your friend will love it!

I never really made cards much, but I am starting to get into them. I like to make them 4.25x5.5 or 3.75x5.75 inches. Those are easy envelope sizes, which I also make.

My passion though is Artist Trading Cards! I have made thousands! I have traded with artists all over the world, and I am never unamazed by the miniature masterpieces that appear in my mailbox! I have been trading them for about 6 years now, and I think I will be making them until I am too weak to make art any more. I love the format and the versatility of mixed media art, and ATCs are the perfect foil for that.

  39. I make A2 almost every time. I like the look of square cards but found out quickly that the cost of mailing them really goes up.

Cute card. Love the flower and the naked buttons. Some people don't like naked buttons but it's great to slap some glue on them to add a little something to your creation.

  57. I love this little fellow on your card. The yellow really exudes cheerfulness. This reminds me of you. Even at your most trying times before your surgery, you were spreading the smiles with your cheerful cards.
I'm pretty blah when it comes to card sizes. Most of mine are A2 size. My big passion with crafting is to revamp thrift store items. I repaint older frames and make wall art out of them by adding verses with artwork or embellished crosses inside of them. I add design papers to slabs of wood & then add painted & embellished letters to give them new life. I love making stuff for my grandkid's walls that matches their personality or the things that they admire at the time.
