Here's a sweet get well card for the upcoming contest at Outlawz Monday Greetings Challenge. It will get posted late tonight and started tomorrow. The theme is to create a get well card. Our wonderful sponsor this week is Di's Digi Stamps who made this lovely image Happiness is a Beary Daisy. I made this card for a dear church friend who has been in the hospital lately.
What's your favorite card size? I seem to be stuck with 6x6 (though I trim them just a little to make sure they will fit in the 6x6 envies when I am done). Other than cards is there something you like to create?
Have you seen the winner list? It's being updated daily now, CHECK HERE!
Also, if you didn't comment on Feb 1st, be sure and go back to that day to comment, prizes are still be drawn from Feb 1st and grand prizes will get drawn from there.
This is so adorable, Holley! Your friend will smile and feel better for sure. I usually stick to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2. Standard A2. Square cards take extra postage so I don't make too many of them. Have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteAwesome Job!!!
ReplyDeleteLovely card Holley it so cute.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and Cheerful image! I usually create standard sized card(41/4"x 51/2") which fit to envelop easily and sometimes I made bigger than normal size then I made my own designer envelops!
ReplyDeleteHave a beautiful day!
Such a cute card...sure to cheer your friend up!!! The cards I make are odd sizes because I match card size to the envelopes I have on hand. I get my envelopes the day after a holiday from the greeting card representatives. Did you know they just toss the envelopes away and usually will give them to you free... if you ask nicely...lol So, if I'm in town, I always check the greeting card section the day after a holiday to see if the rep is pulling cards. Do I create other things? Yes!!! I am always trying new crafts and art mediums. I love, love, LOVE making things with my hands, my mind and my heart!!! <3 <3 <3
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful card. Yellow is such a cheerful colour and bears always win the day. love it

This is so adorable. You do so well will your yellows. Your church friend will love it. I like making odd sized cards. Anywhere between 4x4 and 6x6. Other than cards I love making art journals, mixed media projects especially on canvas and really anythingnew to try it. As long as its artsy of course.
ReplyDeleteSuch a bright and cheerful bear he's a cutie .
ReplyDeleteI make a lot of A2 cards but I also love making square cards. Lived making 5.5 inch ones but I like mini ones 4 - 4.5 so they fit in a standard envelope flat which is great. Love making bookmarks and ATC when it comes to paper crafts
Hugs Nikki C
Look at this adorable mousey ... Too cute! <3 I bet your friend will aboslutely love this card. it's really sweet of you to be thinking of her and making this for her. :)
ReplyDeleteMy cards are 14x14 cm (approx. 5.5 inch). Other than cards I love making mini albums too. They are a bit time consuming to make, but once they are done, you can see it was worth the effort! :) And I make paper gift bax/boxes too. Also, I've trying to learn to crochet (but am not getting very far with that lol), and I like to make a piece of jewelry every now and then too.
Hugs! xx
Such a cute image, and nicely coloured
ReplyDeleteLovely bright cheerful colours and image, exactly what's needed for a get well card - this will cheer your friend up!

what a happy card to cheer someone right up! I make mostly 6x6 cards, too. :)
ReplyDeleteSuper sweet card. I usually make the A2 sized cards, but it varies.
ReplyDeleteI make the A2 cards with the 5x5 thrown in there sometimes. Just hate the extra postage for the 5x5 cards.
ReplyDeleteAw such a cute card Holley. Just gorgeous. I must admit I vary the size I make. It can vary between 6 X 6 and 8 X 8 cards. Depends who I'm sending them to really. Also the type of card stock I use for the blank varies too...I hope that wasn't your next question hahahah xxx
ReplyDeleteJust what I needed to see, to brighten my day after a nasty snow storm!

He is adorable. I know I would be cheered up if I got that card.
ReplyDeleteI make 5x6 cards but I'm trying to cut down to 4 1/2 x 5 1/2.
Adorable card.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card!
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet card and image! You've coloured this beautifully! As for card size, I mostly make A2 but occasionally 6x6.
ReplyDeleteWhat an adorable cardamom! It makes me feel better too, so I am certain your friend will love it!
ReplyDeleteI never really made cards much, but I am starting to get into them. I like to make them 4.25x5.5 or 3.75x5.75 inches. Those are easy envelope sizes, which I also make.
My passion though is Artist Trading Cards! I have made thousands! I have traded with artists all over the world, and I am never unamazed by the miniature masterpieces that appear in my mailbox! I have been trading them for about 6 years now, and I think I will be making them until I am too weak to make art any more. I love the format and the versatility of mixed media art, and ATCs are the perfect foil for that.
Awww, this is so sweet. Will surely cheer your friend right up. I generally make 5 x 6 1/2" inch cards but I'm leaning towards square lately too. I love making wall hangings too. xxD
ReplyDeleteMy favorite card size is 5 1/2 X 4 1/4 right now but it changes often! Mostly it depends on what type of card I am making and how much embellishing or how many techniques I want to do on that particular card.
ReplyDeleteThis Get Well card is so adorable! LOVE this image!! TFS!
This is so very cute Holley. Such a sweet image. I am hooked on 7'' x 7'' cards. A perfect size for me!

Hi Holley - I love this card. My favorite size is A2 and it is common to find envelopes, although I bought an envelope maker, so I can make any size cards, now.

ReplyDeleteI love this little bear.I usually make 15cm at 15 cm.
ReplyDeleteYour friend will be delighted with this bright, happy card. I usually stick with the standard 4 1/4 X 5 1/2, but do make larger as well. I also do a lot of canvas work and collage.
ReplyDeleteSuch an adorable image with perfect accents

ReplyDeleteI don't make a lot of shaped cards-just stick with square and A2 sized.
ReplyDeleteAwww, this is so adorable! That card is really going to cheer your friend up. I make mostly standard sized cards that fit into the regular invitation sized envelopes, I think they are called A2?
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute card Holley - nothing like yellow to cheer someone up! I'm with you in the 6x6 but it depends on the project. Shabneez xxx
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute card, and the Spring colours are so cheery!
ReplyDeleteI make A2 almost every time. I like the look of square cards but found out quickly that the cost of mailing them really goes up.
ReplyDeleteCute card. Love the flower and the naked buttons. Some people don't like naked buttons but it's great to slap some glue on them to add a little something to your creation.
Most of mine are A2. Lately I've made a few that were odd sizes to fit my idea though.
ReplyDeleteSo sweet Holley, love that little bear! I'm sure your friend was pleased to receive it. Xxx
ReplyDeleteCute. Love the bright yellow buttons. Most of my cards are 6 x 4 or 6 x 6. Hugz
ReplyDeleteThe card with the little hedgehog holding a flower for the getwell card is so cute

ReplyDeleteFabulous card, very cheerful. I love to make 8 x 8 cards. Creative Blessings, Tracy x
ReplyDeleteMost of my cards are A2, i like the sizes, you can get envelopes everywhere! and many of the papers I get here are A4, so it's easy to make it work together.
ReplyDeleteI usually do the A2 size because of the postage issue.

ReplyDeletegreat card... i like to make 6 x 6 and 5 x 7 cards
ReplyDeleteI love the card. I like making 6x6 and 5x7 cards--can use a little larger image. I also scrapbook and do needlework, mostly knit and crochet.
ReplyDeleteI love this little fellow on your card. The yellow really exudes cheerfulness. This reminds me of you. Even at your most trying times before your surgery, you were spreading the smiles with your cheerful cards.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty blah when it comes to card sizes. Most of mine are A2 size. My big passion with crafting is to revamp thrift store items. I repaint older frames and make wall art out of them by adding verses with artwork or embellished crosses inside of them. I add design papers to slabs of wood & then add painted & embellished letters to give them new life. I love making stuff for my grandkid's walls that matches their personality or the things that they admire at the time.

ReplyDeleteI tend to stick with taking an 8.5 x 11 cardstock and cutting it half width wise. I never remember to do anything else.
