Happy Friday everyone! Here's a stunning image from a brand new artist at Sweet Pea stamps, Charity Dauenhaur. As I mentioned last week, there's so many stunning love themed images, I have decided I would spend all month in my Sweet Pea cards using a red/pink combo. This week, all the design team members are creating cards using Charity's stamps. I chose
The Vintage Heart. I just love this new artist's style, you will be seeing lots more of her images.
Here's a closeup of the stamp itself. Currently her stamps are available in digital format.
Have a great weekend and I hope you will get some stamping in! If you have time, be sure and check the link to check out the artist's original coloring on this image, as my coloring is totally different. It really gives you a great idea of the versatility of this stamp.
So I know you all THINK my favorite colors totally must be pink and red by now, hey, it's like Valentine's MONTH not day, but in reality my favorite colors are actually orange and yellow. I do like red and pink, also brown. I have the hardest time using purples, greens and light blues/aqua shades.
So what are your favorite colors? what colors do you use when you want to challenge yourself?
Be sure and check the current winner's list (

Oh, how beautiful fresh and exquisitely made, all of the wonderful things included!
ReplyDeleteAlthough I do a lot of self-pink, still I like red to blue to brown to green, there are a lot of options, but when you learn to combine.
Have a good weekend for you Holley!
Hugs Kaija<3
I like blues and browns a lot. But basically any colour is fun. A challenging colour would be orange - but I love it anyway.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite colors on cards are turquoise, pink and yellow. I have a hard time using blue and red!!! And I really don't know why!!! :)
ReplyDeleteHugs, Laila!
I think my favorite colors are pink, blue and black. I challenge myself with fall colors, sometimes it comes out good, sometimes not so much! lol
ReplyDeleteLovely card :)
ReplyDeletemy favorite colors are the teals/turquoises.
I find to combine different greens always challenging, espacially when coloring.
I use a red, black and white color combo a lot but my latest "Go to" card stock is kraft.

Gorgeous card Holley!! You did fantastic coloring her. I tend towards bright colors like turquoise and pink and shy away from colors like brown and dark blues. Have a great weekend!

ReplyDeleteLovely image Holley, I don't use a lot of pink and red
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful card! I like all the embellishments and he heart doily in the background. Great colours too.
ReplyDeleteI like using pink, purple, blue and brown colours on my cards/projects, but I can't seem to work with black or grey.
Love what you did on the Vintage Heart Card. The layout and coloring on the stamped image is terrific. You're going to have all your Valentine's cards done for next year. I like the colors you don't like. Not a big fan of red as I grew up with 3 redheads in my family. My Mom's favorite color and she made me wear everything red. My favorite color is green.

Hi Holley, love your card. My favourite colours are blue, blue and blue. I don't use red and pink so much
ReplyDeleteThis is a real pretty fairy card! Did you color it with copics?
ReplyDeleteMy favorite color is red,so this card is right up my alley LOL.
The color wich would challenge me the most is green.
I like the heartsheped doily as background.
I love that you reenforced the heart shape in the stamp with the heart doily. Love the total effect!
ReplyDeleteI like to see blue with yellow and pink with either brown or grey.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful imade, coloured so well, lovely card.xx
Hi Holley, another gorgeous card and image. Love the colours.
ReplyDeleteHugs Erin x
Holly, your cards and coloring is really cute. I was going to suggest you add a watermark to your colored photos so the public can't copy them and it protects the copyright artist. You can do this really easy at www.picmonkey.com - it's a place you can edit your photos and add a custom watermark. That will also get your name and blog recognized more to. Blessings, Sherrie Clark
ReplyDeletehi Holley hun great job x
ReplyDeleteLove this new image from a new designer. Your card is the perfect showcase for it!
ReplyDeleteI love to use teal and brown together, but I have an awful time with purple!
lovely image Holley and I love the heart background is that printed or cut out.
ReplyDeleteHelen
I like the jewel-tone colors. My challenge would be using orange for something other than Halloween . Cute stamp - hair is almost Medussa-like :).
ReplyDeleteI love your card. My favorite colors tend to be blues and greens. I have been using a bit of pink and read lately and when I really want to challenge myself I go for black, orange or yellow.
ReplyDeleteVery sexy!!!! Love those flowers.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card! I did check out the image on the site and they used blue and browns.......very different!
ReplyDeleteLove the use of the doily.
A lot going on and that is why I love it.
Hugs,
Linda
Hot pink is my favorite color and I love seeing all the pink in your cards this month!
ReplyDeleteLove the stamp too!
nancy bahr
It's amazing how different she looks in shades of blue.
ReplyDeleteI like your version too. But my favorite colors are purple and blue.
hugs,
Brooke
She's a beauty! You never seem to have problems with your reds bleeding. I avoid them because mine always bleed. I like earth tones and jewel tones.
ReplyDeletewow, this is a beautiful card. love the lady and the roses.
ReplyDeletekaye G
Beautiful card. Love the label xoxo
ReplyDeleteLovely detail in both, the image and the card. I don't really have any particular go to colors. I suppose the hardest for me is monochromatic...so not really a specific color but any color in it's entirety.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful card. The embellishments are perfect for the image.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful card. The embellishments are perfect for the image.
ReplyDeleteJust the way I like my Valentines, filled to the brim with lots of hearts and embellies. This is a super kewl image too.
ReplyDeleteI love purple, but don't use it very often in paper crafting projects, mostly I think because there aren't many patterned papers with purple. I also like red and pink, so your card is right up my alley.
ReplyDeleteLove your color combo. Beautiful card. I don't think I have a favorite color combo. Guess purples with pinks. black and red. I'm not great at picking combos so I rarely try something new.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty stamp!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite colors are reds and pinks along with Aquas and teals. If I wanna challenge myself, I do monochromatic. It's really difficult to stay all in one color sometimes.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous, as usual Hollie...tfs Hugs Gillian
So pretty - love the heart doily and how you've shaded it.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy using a light lilac colored purple with cream, I also like to use greens monochromatic. Oddly, blue & pink are my favorite colors, just not the ones I reach for the most when stamping.
ReplyDeleteLove the card. I love using colors (any and all colors). I don't use earth tones very much, but once in a while I'll see something and use earth tones.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy all the Deep Darker Colors like Plum, Navy, Green, Brown. The color I have the hardest time using is White, some will say it is not a color but none the less I don't like using it at all. This card you made is nice but not one of my favorites as I like a bit bigger eyes to bring out the color of the eyes. The overall image style is wonderful and your coloring is awesome as always, just something the shape of eyes on the stamp I don't care for.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous Holley!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite colour to work with is purple! I am challenged when I try to colour something that requires a bunch of different colours - i.e. a colourful quilt
Very pretty.
ReplyDeleteHolley - my favorite color is blue! Audrey r in austin
ReplyDeleteStunning card! I don't usually stray too far with colour experimentation so I stick with what i know looks good! Usually pinks and browns, red and black, purple and green etc. HUgsxx
ReplyDeleteLovely card again Holley.
ReplyDeleteI tend to make most cards in reddish colors and purple. Sometimes I sway to greens or blues but not that often
Hi Holley,
ReplyDeleteGreat image and fab card. TFS.
Your favourite colours of yellow/ orange/ brown would be the colours I would struggle with most. I love purple and green and lately I've been using a lot of kraft cards.
Hugs,
Trish x
Awesome card. Love your work!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm more of an earthy tone person, with blues and grays a very close second. Bright colors are a challenge for me, although you always manage to make such fabulous card with those colors (like today's card - it's gorgeous!).
ReplyDeleteAmazing card .I like colors and every thing.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful card! My favorite colors are blue (all shades of blue) and red. The hardest color for me to work with is yellow.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite colors to use are blues, greens & purples. Whether it is cards or scrapbook pages, I lean towards those colors.
ReplyDeletefabulous card... all the elements making this so elegant and perfect...
