Happy day 1 of school. They will be working on getting the kids situated and safe in the classroom. Getting them to follow the routine and schedule. It's normal for some and new for others. Let's just all BEE happy, Don't worry, BEE happy. My schedule this year is currently set for TU TH Fri. I am thankful to be back to a three day work week.
WOO HOO. I can't wait to see the kiddos. I am guessing many of them will be kids that I recognize from last year in other classes. We often did activities together so many of them hopefully know me. I just found out that today is a greet the teacher only day, so they will be coming in and seeing us but not staying for a complete day. Wed. is actually the first day of school for us this year

Happy to be home and ready to see some of my teacher friends next week as we prepare for school next year. We will have training and get ready for new classes. I don't yet know my assignment. I hope I am again in a class with the kiddos as opposed to being a floater.

Last day of break and school training starts up. Time goes so quickly but so much has happened that I feel very blessed to have gotten so much done this summer. So, here come the next school year. I believe they are supposed to be 175 days long....
Hello! Hope you are having a great week. I must say I do feel refreshed and I am on the ground running 100mph with the lace business to get started before school starts. I hope to have lots of wonderful orders and fun things to send everyone this year. I am trying really hard NOT to think about how long it will be until i can return to Turkiye YET.
Happy Monday everyone! Sometime this week we will be starting up the teacher week to prepare for the kiddos next year. I hope the kids are happy and excited. I know it can be hard to come back to school for some of them. Some had the entire summer off while others went to all the summer school sessions. Either way they will now have a new teacher and assistant.

Happy Friday. Next week we will have some teacher training for school. I am not sure which days that will include as well as which days I will be working. Last year I started as MWF and eventually moved to TU W TH F. It was a tough move even though it's just one extra day.

Happy Thursday. This week is the last full week off before teachers go in for training for the next school year. I will need to redo my CPR and health training plus at least 24hours of other trainings. LOL so much work to get ready for the school year. Not sure what my schedule will be until I get in.

Had to share another summer card because it's super HOT, that's the truth. I think it's not only HOT here, it's HOT everywhere. LOL. I have about a week before school starts (for teachers) and maybe two weeks before it starts for the kiddos.
WOW, first Monday of Summertime that I am in Texas. WHEW it's hot. Thankful for air conditioning. That's for sure. One reason many people don't like Turkiye is the lack of AC. I am used to it. I just accept it. It's something you get over it's something you just deal with in order to be in such an amazing place. But yeah, I am a spoiled American, lol

I think Mondays are often holiday for most museums/sites, so I will likely spend the day saying goodbye to people and going to all my favorite places. As is like me, I have already packed and weighed my bags so I can't add ANYTHING lol. Guess I better eat up some baklava WITH ice cream.
Happy Sunday. It's my last week, I have had a fabulous trip and I can't wait to get back home and hit the ground running. I am so very thankful to be going straight from Istanbul to Dallas with no layovers. That makes the extra luggage so much easier! WOO HOO.
Last Saturday here, so I hope to relax and see some sights, you know, maybe act like an actual tourist. I didn't do that as much on this trip as I have on others. Since it's my last few days, I wish to do a little sightseeing too. I'll have to see what items are new around town.
Last Friday, perhaps a bazaar or just being with friends would be nice. I look forward to seeing then one last time and saying goodbye. I want to go to my favorite restaurant in Capa and eat my favorite food one last time before I have to come home. One thing that means is a last glass of Turkish Tea.

Happy Thursday! Just 12 more days. WOW. that's like the length of most people's entire vacation. Wow. do I feel very blessed. I am now gonna have to be limiting what I can buy and shove into my suitcases. little things now like fun jewelry and trinkets that I like (crazy beautiful beads and such). Last year I got my sister the most stunning stone sphere and such.

At this point I have so much lace I am having to be more selective and careful what to buy. Will ship a couple boxes home and the rest has to come home with me in person. I am likely to buy another suitcase and will take three suitcases home.
Wow, happy Tuesday. You know my mind is set on Gonen. I wonder what is happening there this morning. I just so want to be there, lol. But there is also SO much lace in Istanbul that I have yet to see. Can you believe that? a month and a half and I have yet to see it all?
Happy Monday! How is y'all summer going? just two and a half weeks more to go. How fabulous is that? I hope you are also having a fabulous summertime. One other thing that I just LOVE in Turkiye is the FOOD and one of my favorite places is far away from me now because it is back in Capa Sehremini called Altin Kapa. Used to eat there all the time, now it's a rare treat to get that far away for just a dinner.

I must say I don't even go look at the typical tourist locations in Istanbul anymore, but one place I want to see on this trip is called Iznik, which is a city outside of Istanbul. Biblically known as Nicaea. Definitely gonna try and do that this trip

Happy Friday. So another place in Istanbul that I like to go is Uskadar. In fairness my residence for summer is technically considered to be in Uskadar, but very far away from the initial spot that people think of when they say Uskadar. Most people who talk to me are referring to the coast spot right at the Marmaray stop called Uskadar. One of my preferred places to eat is there, a few blocks up the main street. I like the service and they have a decent menu with many choices. They have an AMAZING bakery with eye popping treats.
Happy Thursday. I am hoping to still be doing lots of shopping in my typical lace place, that is Eminonu. I have friends there that I hang out with and often join in their home for some dinner or other parties. They are the nicest people! I love to visit with them every year. Usually, I will shop for a while then drop by their store to chat and catch up.
Happy Wednesday all! You know what that means. Yep! Fatih Pazaar. Let's hope this year I am finding my same friends in that market, I can think of at least three or so that usually have products I am buying. Fun to search a market like this and get lucky with some great lace.
Happy Tuesday. All I can do on Tuesdays is think of that amazing Pazaar that is happening in Gonen. Oh, I just wish I could be there every week!!! I wish Istanbul was closer. Hopefully I can make some friends while I am there and find some who will be willing to send me laces to America or at least to Istanbul.

So another thing that I found on Instagram was a Friday Pazaar in Kadikoy. It says it is two levels with the bottom level being all fabrics (which could also mean laces). I am going to go there and look to see if I can find any....gotta take a peek.

Happy Wednesday. It's time for the Fatih Pazaar. Hopefully this year I am finding some good stuff there. Last year I made some friends at this pazaar and joined them at their home for dinner. It was so lovely. Their family is just a delight and the food was totally amazing. I mean AMAZING. oh my goodness. This card is a Travel Log with the words Turkiye Hos Geldiniz. meaning "Turkey Welcome"
