Amythyst

Here's a stunning image from Sweet Pea artist Joanne Schempp's called Amythyst (Plate #206).   Be sure you click the link and check out this stamp on the Sweet Pea website because when you see the artist's coloring it's just so different and amazing.  It's so neat to see what a stamp can look like when done in different color families.

Here's a close up of my coloring of this image, I am using a warm color group, with reds as my primary color.  I used a wonderful background paper from Basic Grey to bring out all the colors and added small amounts of bling everywhere.  The image size is approx 2.75" x 3.5"

Don't forget that we have blog candy running until Dec 12th.  There will be 12 winners!!  All prizes will get mailed out right after the contest is over and please email your address if you see your name on the list (htondre@aol.com)!  All you have to do to be eligible is to leave a comment on each day's posting, winners are chosen at random!

Gorjuss Girl

Always time for a Gorjuss Girl Stamp. I just love this artist's work, as I guess you could clearly tell given my blog design.  This artist is just amazing.    Here's one of her stamps and I added a wonderful uplifting sentiment for the day "Learn from yesterday, Live for Today, Hope for Tomorrow."
I hope this makes everyone smile today.  I can remember when I had such long long brown hair.  Right before my brain surgeries, I had just over 2 foot (yep, TWO FEET WORTH) of hair cut off so they would donate it to Locks of Love and it could be used for wigs.  That put my hair super short before surgery.  Of course doctors will tell you that you don't "have" to cut your hair, but I will also just laugh and say they shaved a huge line straight down center of my head like a reverse mohawk (and several other places).  Hair was about the last thing that mattered at the time to me.  For me, it was just amazing getting my BRAIN fixed and it if some other person could get hair, then that's great.  But to give the hair, I had to go before my surgery and get it cut at a salon.

Project Materials:  Cardstock (Bazzill, Neenah); Printed Paper (unsure);  Image (Gorjuss Girls;  Saying--I think--Hero arts);  Ink (Memento, Colorbox Chalk); Flowers (Prima); Brads (Basic Grey); Die cuts (Spellbinders Nestabilities);  Color (Copic Markers); Adhesives (Pop dots, Glue All, Glue Dots);

Where's Your Adventure?

I am sure you can tell this lady is ready for some adventure.  She's called Shady Sassy from Sassy Studio Designs.  I am guessing you can tell she was inspired by the recent love for 50 Shades of Grey, which I must confess that I haven't actually read.  I might however dress up like this to get my hubby to find some adventure. Hmmm.....
Are you signing up for blog candy?  All you need to do is just leave a comment!  I am picking out random comments to choose 12 winners from Nov 12th to Dec 12th.  Dec 12th will make the time at which I will return to my cancer doc to be retested.  Hoping of course to see better results, though I know my chances are of course slim.  Speaking of slim, I am also slimming down as I get ready for it.  Dropping 20 pounds to be exact.  Decided I would do that back in Oct 12 when I got the bad test results.  So far, only about 11 pounds down.  So, just over halfway there!  Better get my walking on. Can you say 10-15 miles a day?

Happy Thanksgiving

Here's a little thanksgiving card using a cute stamp from CC Designs and some amazing papers from Paper Temptress.  I stamped the image out on some copic friendly paper called Heavenly White and colored it with Copic markers then cut it out to be placed on the final card.
The base of the card is amazing metallic paper in shimmery copper called Mica Copper.  The layer on top of the copper is a ruche that gives wonderful texture against the shimmer.  It's called Crepe.  The top layer is a very dark brown that I die cut and embossed with Spellbinders.  The paper is a wonderful thickness so it takes the embossing very well.  It's called Pop Tones Hot Fudge.

Project Materials:  Cardstock (Paper Temptress);  Rubber Stamps (CC Designs); Ink (Memento);  Adhesives (Pop dots, Glue All);  Die Cuts (Spellbinders Nestabilities);  Color (Copic Markers); Sticker (Recollections);

Joesette, Lil French Maid

Here's a sexy girl digi-stamp from artist Heather Valentin of Scrapbook Stamp Society.  I am guessing this lady would be a dream come true for most husbands.  I colored her up in pinks and made a pink card for her with a beautiful gold die cut.  Her name is Joesette Lil French Maid Naughty Girl.
Think my hubby will like this card?  or should I just go buy myself a costume?  (lol, think I will have to just give him the card, if I buy myself the costume, he might think I am gonna start cleaning the house or something.  HA!)

This woman is just stunning. I see her looking out and just remembering and hoping for something to return.  I added a wonderful fabric label to the bottom right corner. I am using some yummy gold embellished paper and colored the image with Copic Markers.  I just love all of Anna Marine's images.  She makes everything from pretty and haunting looking beauties to those stunning sexy ladies that make you want to create a card for the hubby.  Check out her images at the Sweet Pea store.

Lost Boy

Here's a wonderful image from Kraftin' Kimmie stamps. He's one of the lost boys from Peter Pan.  I love the saying that comes with him, "Never Grow Up!"  If only life could always be so easy, but then as I recall, I wasn't much of one for childhood. I was pretty much ready to grow up pretty instantly so I couldn't imagine ever going back to being a kid.
So, today's the first day for blog candy!  Woo Hoo, just leave a comment today, I will pick one of today's comments as the winner, later this week.  The winner will be listed at the bottom of this post!  I will also announce on each day's post when a new winner is announced and who the winners are, so you will know.  Just add a comment to each project everyday and join in.  There will be 12 random days picked between now and Dec 12th.  Today's a day I am going off to my cancer doc to see a dear friend, she's having a treatment today.  Say a prayer for her. Her cancer was in remission, but has now come back.  One month from now, on that Dec 12th day will be my new testing at the same cancer doctor.  My last tests were not good, meaning that my white blood cell count has gotten lower.  They are testing in Dec to see if there is any improvements.   Hugs everyone and good luck!!

Mermaid Cutie

Don't we all love mermaids?  How about baby mermaids?  Here's a stunning Sweet Pea image from artist Conie Fong called Flowers on the Beach.  Isn't she just adorable?  I added a wonderful sentiment from and older set of Sweet Pea stamps "Flowers are the sweetest things God ever made and forgot to put a soul into. "

On this card I am using 2 shades of cardstock and some major punches!  When I look at it now, it's almost hard to tell, which cardstock is the base color and which is the secondary.  The orange color is the card, it was punch via a large border punch and then a green background color was put behind it, to add the green.  Then on top of the card, I used the same green to layer my colored image.  The card shows three layers of depth that way.  It's a nice way to show some depth with out adding too much bulk (for example if you know you want to mail a card internationally and you know anything sticking out in the envy will get damaged).  This type of card allows you to make wonderful layers and give height and make the item perfectly mailable without having to include it in a package.  Just an idea!!

Cheers, Holley

Here's an awesome sexy stamp image from artist Heather Valentine called 50 Ways with Tiffany.  Ooo La La.  I added some amazing papers from Paper Temptress to make this card super special.  Heather has a whole series of Naughty Girl themed stamps out at Addicted to Stamps Scrapbook Stamp Society (click here).
This card is using a variety of amazing papers from Paper Temptress.  The base of the card is Neenah Solar White in 80lb.  For this particular project I am using 80lb paper because my image is a digital stamp and the 80lb paper runs through my home printer very easily.  The black layer is Eclipse Black 100.  The wonderful shimmery red background is called Incandescent Rosso. It's an amazing golden shimmer to it, so I added some diamond shaped embellishments on top.  The final touch was a little bit of gold edging to go with the golden shimmer, I cut some of the wonderful Hambly overlays and added it to the edges.  The sheet I am using here is from the sheet called Gold Hanging Heliconas.  I cut one stripe right down the center.  That paper makes stunning backgrounds for cards too!

Happy Fall Y'all

Here's a wonderful new stamp from artist Sandra Caldwell called Thankful America.  So perfect for those fall time cards and especially for those Thanksgiving themed cards.  I think it would also be wonderful for sending to those soldiers and families of soldiers.
The sentiment being used on this card also comes from a stamp set designed by Sandra Caldwell, it's an adorable Scarecrow (perfect for fall too) which comes with the perfect saying I used here.  Hope this inspires you to start creating some Fall theme cards.

Project Materials:  Cardstock (Bazzill, Neenah);  DieCuts (Spellbinders Nestabilities);  Image (Queen Kat); Ink (Memento);  Ribbon (Hobby Lobby);  Lace (Recollections);  Adhesives (Pop dots, Glue All, Glue Dots, Ribbon Glue); Color (Copic Markers)
