Squigglefly Challenge

Happy Monday everyone!  Do you know what that means?  yep! It's time for this week's Squigglefly Challenge.  The challenge this week is to include a Sun on your card.  As you can see on my card here, I used a button in the shape of the sun.  You can also use a sun as a die cut, a sun in your stamp image, a sun on your paper/cardstock, a sun as brad/eyelet or a sun as an embellishment.  As long as there is a sun somewhere on your card!  Join in the fun!  This birthday card I made is using an image from Niina Niskanen called Birthday Girl.

Drop by the Squigglefly Challenge blog and check out the creations by the Holley Hobbyists this week and then create a fun card to play along with us!  You could win a prize from Squigglefly!!

Rag Doll

Here's an adorable stamp from Unity Stamps. I never really had dolls as a kid, it wasn't something I played with. I was always a kid who like puzzles and crafts, books and such.
Something about this doll just touches me though. The red hair? the button eyes?  She's just TOO cute. Maybe it's the striped socks.

I think this stamp came with the saying Frazzled?  I was feeling that way at the end of the week, VBS is now over. So tired.    Looking forward to this rejuvenating weekend.

Hugs all!!

Butterfly Princess

 Here's a wonderful image from Sweet Pea artist Conie Fong.  This beautiful stamp is called Butterfly Princess.  I colored up this wonderful image like she was a sunflower today. Yellow petals for her dress with a brown center as her top.  I gave her matching wings and an adorable banner on the card that says "You are so Loved."  Totally makes me think of a ballet costume as I have been seeing all my friends little girls being dressed up in the most adorable costumes for their recitals lately.

Here's a close up of the image itself.  This stamp is also available in Digi Format.

Be sure and check out all of Conie's wonderful images at the Sweet Pea store and join us in our contest and weekly prize at our Facebook page Sweet Pea Friends and Fans.

DIY

Love this fun image from Stamping Chef, isn't she a bit Cheeky? ha!  She's got a clipboard that says Keep Calm & DIY.  I guess I am only a Do It Yourselfer when it comes to crafting. Just about everything else I leave up to the hubby to take care of.  I had to laugh at this adorable image though and it made me think of this hilarious saying that I have from Squigglefly.  HA!!

Hope you are all having a great week.  I am going to drop this card off for the Stamping Chef Challenge this week.  Drop over there and check it out!

Project Materials:  Cardstock (Neenah, HeidiGrace, unknown); Die Cuts (Spellbinders); Digi Stamps (Stamping Chef, Squigglefly); Buttons (misc); Die Cuts (Frantic Stamper, Penny Black); Adhesives (Pop dots, Glue all, Glue dots); Ink (Colorbox Chalk); Color (Copic markers);

It's good to be Queen

Isn't this a fine Queen?  here's an awesome stamp and sentiment from Kraftin' Kimmie stamp on a card made by DCWV.  I just love how this card goes with this image. It looks as if it was fit for a Queen.  She's a real beauty.

Just a few more days of vbs to go now. Do you think I have taught the kids at church enough crafts yet? I am trying.

Squigglefly Challenge

Hi everyone!  Here's my card for this week's Squigglefly Challenge. I am joining in with Rhonda's Rowdy Rascals this week because Rhonda picked this week's fun, "Make a One Layer Card."  How hard is that?  Actually, a bit harder than you might think!  Sounds pretty easy, but after I printed out my stamps, I was just stumped.  I will confess that I had to go back, rearrange my images on the computer and reprint them to come up with the design I wanted!  I hope this fun qualifies as I didn't add any layers of paper, just a ribbon and buttons.  These adorable images come from Carmen Gamble.  They are called Lightbulb set. There are 4 images included, the three shown plus "Great Idea" that can be used together or separately.

Drop by the Squigglefly blog this week and join in the fun. You could win a wonderful prize from Squigglefly.  If you haven't every played, please join in!  You can even use a freebie from the store!

Project Materials:  Cardstock (Heavenly White); Images (Squigglefly); Color (Copic Markers); Ribbon (Michaels); Buttons (OTC); Adhesive (pop dots, Ribbon Glue);

I would pick you everytime!

Isn't this just the cutest image?  It's a darling stamp from Sherri Baldy of course!  I made this fun card for the SSS Challenge this week, Add Swirls to your card.  I am using a beautiful die cut from Cherry Lynn to add some gorgeous swirls with a touch of leaves and some bling too.
Hope you will join in the fun this week. The contest is anything goes +swirl.  You could win some wonderful stamps from Scrapbook Stamp Society owner Sherri Baldy.  Check us out!

Hey

Sharing this Clean And Simple card today using a hot mama from Stamping Chef. Don't you love her?  If only I had legs that long! If so I would wear a dress that short...well, maybe not, but I guess if my legs were really that long then all dresses might look that short on me.

Unfortunately at 5'4" my dress comes a lot further down.  I suppose that's a good thing, of course my husband would say that as he would not like all those men checking out my legs.  At 10+ miles a day, they may be short, but they sure are built, lol!!

Have a great weekend everyone.  Check out The Stamping Chef blog, I am entering this simple card for their Anything Goes challenge.

Feeling naughty?

Here's a fun image from Unity Stamps.  I had to laugh when I saw this stamp and the fun saying in their store.  Got both these stamps so I could make some cards for my hubby. I used a cute sizzix embossing folder in the background to make the heart pattern.

Hope he's gonna like it.  Maybe he'll be inspired for some fun...

Project Materials:  Cardstock (AC, Neenah); Images (Unity Stamps); Ink (Memento, Colorbox Chalk); Buttons (American Traditional); DieCuts (Spellbinders Nestabilities); Embossing (Sizzix); Bling (Michaels); Adhesives (pop dots, Glue all, Glue dots);

Runaway Ruby

 Happy Friday everyone!  Here's a great Sweet Pea stamp from artist Regan Kubecek called Runaway Ruby.  Be sure and check out the artist's coloring of this image as my coloring gives you a totally different idea.  I am using all warm greys on the background so the girl stands out.  I just love the little Skull on her hat, around her neck and in her hair, so I added some great skull borders as well as some fun skill die cuts.  All my background/embellishments are in a three color combo, white-black-tan.

Here's a closeup of the image itself, which is currently available in Digital format.
Be sure and check out all of Regan Kubecek's stamps. She has some wonderful images in both rubber and digital format.

I'm Cougarlicious, Baby!

Here's an adorable stamp from Creative Vision that I used in combination with some stunning papers from Paper Temptress to create today's card.  This image just makes me laugh.  I know I totally need an outfit and I am totally Cougarlicious too!  Hey, my husband is like 5 months younger than me, that means I am a cougar, huh?

The papers for this card are yummy Paper Temptress papers.  The base of the card is called Tuscan Sun.  On top of the base is a partial sheet of Hambly Studio Screen Overlays.  This one is in GOLD, doesn't it look shimmery on top of the Tuscan Sun cardstock?  I love the way it stands out.  This overlay is called Gold Woodgrain.  You can also get the Hambly Screen Overlays in a wonderful 6x6" assortments so that you get many types for less cost, click here.  There's a small strip of textured black cardstock on the left, it's called Black Felt Grandee.  The white paper used for this image is called Heavenly White.

Cheers all and have a Cougarlicious day!

Bling it on!

Here's a fun image from The East Wind.  I am loving Lucy Loo. She's just a cool image!  She has a great line of stamps at the East Wind etsy store.  The challenge this week was to bling it on. I have used a ton of bling on here and I am totally disappointed that the image doesn't do it justice as some of it is metallic and black.  Phooey!  I also added some fun metallic and metallic glitter too.

Can't wait to see more fun images at the East Wind Challenge.

Cheers, Holley

Project Materials:  Cardstock (Mambi, AC, Neenah); Bling (Recollections, Studio G, Prima); Brads (Recollections); Flowers (Making Memories, Prima); Die Cuts (Spellbinders Nestabilities); Ink (Colorbox Chalk); Sentiments (Colorbok); Image (The East Wind); Color (Copic markers); Adhesives (pop dots, Glue all, glue dots);

Lil Miss Bubblelite

Here's an adorable girl from Scrapbook Stamp Society artist Sherri Baldy,  this cute girl in a bubble!  Don't you love her?  She's called Lil Miss Bubblelite. I made this fun card today for the Anything Goes Challenge over at the SSS Challenge blog.  I hope you will create something fun and come join me.  Sherri has wonderful prizes.

There's just a handful of days left to join in, so go check out the wonderful creations over there and share your work with us (Click Here).  I also think it would be totally fun if you took this image and instead of coloring the inside of the bubble as I did, you colored outside the bubbles blue leaving the bubbles white and then put fish or other sea animals outside leaving the girl in a clear bubble.

Cheers. Holley

Meet Posy

Everyone on the Sweet Pea team is sharing a creation this week using a stunning image from artist Norma Burnell named Posy.   I decided to chose two colors as the focus for this card, turquoise and violet.  I just love how the bird in the image is holding two tiny flowers so I added two birds to my card and put small flowers in their beaks.  I added a simple sentiment "Live Laugh Love."

Here's a close up of this stunning image, she is available both in rubber as well as digital format.

Did you know there's a great Facebook group where you can share your cards that you make with Sweet Pea Stamps? It also has contests and prizes!  Click Here

Simple Pleasures

Here's an awesome image from Stamping Chef! I just love this girl.  I dressed her up with a hot red shirt and matching red sunglassed.  I finished off the card with matching red flowers and red/black striped buttons.  I wonder what simple pleasures she is seeking today...

For me it's often that shift in the sky, when the clouds move to cover the heat of the sun for just a moment.  Ahhh, that's a wonderful thing. That's when I am thinking, "Thank You" and looking up in the sky.  Do you think God hears me?

Project materials:  Cardstock (Bazzill, Neenah, AC); Image (Stamping Chef); Die Cuts (Spellbinders Nestabilities, Memory Box); Sentiment (Cosmo Crickett); Flowers (Prima); Brads (Making Memories); Buttons (Grandma's Button Bag); Twine (Target); Ink (Colorbox Chalk); Color (Copic markers); Adhesives (Pop dots, Glue all, Glue dots);

Dance in the Rain

Sure was some good rain last month, I hope we will also get some rain this month. Texas is having a huge drought situation.  The lakes that we have near Austin are at an all time low, one of these lakes provides water for a million people in this area alone.  It's currently at 39% of it's normal level.  All businesses near the lake have been shut down for a couple years (boat docks, restaurants on the lake, rentals,...).  It's currently projected if rain doesn't increase significantly, we will reach an all time record drought situation matching the state of 1951.  Difference of course being, that the consumption now must be significantly larger than consumption was in 1951.
So, may we all be thankful for the water we have and pray for more water to come.  We need it here. Thanks much for your prayers everyone.  If you have prayer requests, feel free to leave them here.  Hugs all!

Think Fast

Here's a great image from Stamping Chef.  I have been seeing lots of soccer over the last month as the park I walk in has youth soccer.  I see everything from 12 yr olds to kids who look about 4 yr old.  So cute.  Poor kids have everyone yelling at them, teammates, coaches, parents, refs....they just want to kick the ball!

I am going to submit this card to the Anything Goes Challenge.  Hope they love it!  Have a wonderful weekend everyone. Hope everyone has some fun time to get in some crafting.  I know I will be spending much of the day with a dear friend whose daughter is graduating from High School.

Also I want to enter this card in the Left of Center creative Challenge--movie theme-- for the movie Gracie, which came out, a little while ago about a real life story of a determined high school girl who beat all odds to compete and play soccer ON the boys team!!

Love Never Dies

Here's a stunning image from Sweet Pea artist Katerina Koukiotis called Love Never Dies.  What a stunning image.  I truly can not imagine losing some one so near and dear to me.  I added a simple sentiment in vellum "become STRONG," but I know that is so very hard at such a real trying moment in life.  There's gorgeous glittered cardstock in the back and some beautiful lace at the bottom.

Here's a closeup of this image, she's currently available in digi as well as rubber format.
Drop by and check out all of this artist's amazing stamps at the Sweet Pea store.

Gotcha!

Here's a fun card using stamps from Art Impressions and gorgeous papers from Paper Temptress.  Has cupid's arrow struck you? I am guessing he's coming after you then.  I know he catches me on occasion, sometimes when I am just looking over at my partner of the last 16 years.

The base of this card is use a shimmery metallic paper called Mica in Fairway.  The wonderful blue textured paper is ruche called Sky Blue Crepe. The printed paper is a specialty paper from Hambly Studio.  This sheet is part of their Screenprints line, it is called Mod Circles.  It matches well with the blue and green shades of this card. The stamped image, as well as the sentiment, were stamped and die cut using Heavenly white paper.

I hope this card inspires you to create something lovely with some gorgeous papers! Did you know there was an Anything Goes challenge at Your Scrapbook Place?  they are looking for cards too...if you have made a card, join in HERE!

Girlie Challenge

Here's a fun card I made with my first stamp from East Wind.  I have been eyeing this artist's stamps for a while.  So enamored with her stamps called Lucy Loo.  Awesome.  I have a feeling I will get a little collection of these images going.

I had to add a skull with a pink bow. It matches her cute necklace. I colored her in copic reds with a black skirt and chose a card in red and pink polka dots.  I am going to enter this card in the Left of Center Creative Challenge.
