Happy Saturday

It's Saturday, that usually means a nice day in Ortakoy or going all the way to the pazaar in Barkikoy.  I haven't been as lucky finding lace in Barkirkoy the last few years.  Pre-covid it was an amazing market, Filled with laces everywhere.  Now, I see mostly fabrics.  It's very close one of the largest fabric districts in Istanbul.  Every once in a while I get lucky, so it's worth a try, but sometimes disappointed.

Last day in Istanbul

Well, today is my last day in Istanbul, I leave tomorrow, but at 8:30 am and I have to be at the airport 3 hours before the flight.  SIGH.  that's just SO early to get up and get to the airport, lol.  Will be running around today to say goodbye to people and having a last dinner or lovely meal.

Enjoy the ride

Today is my last full day in Eskisehir, this city is also famous for having a waterway in the center of it, much like, well, I don't wanna compare it, but just to give you an idea, think of Amsterdam.  Now, reduce the size tremendously. and think of only one water way, not a grouping of waterways like Amsterdam has.  Suppose I could take a gondola ride or just have a lovely lunch sitting aside the water and enjoying the cool air.

Skull card

 Here's an interesting skull card that I made with some gorgeous embellishments that I got in Turkiye.  The skull was meant to be a patch, but I adhered it to the card with glue dots.  The flowers were lovely little embellishments in a store, I don't know what they are meant to be used for but I thought they would go perfectly on greeting cards.

Happy Birthday Ms. Rambo

Happy Birthday Ms. Rambo!!  She's an awesome teacher at AISD.  We worked together in the DHH department.  I wish her the very best on her special day today.  I have a goodie for you from Turkiye!  I hope to see you sometime.  This card is using beautiful paper that I got in Turkiye.

Ooo La La

 Here's a gorgeous die cut set that i got while in Turkiye.  I just love it, it's also have a lovely velvety feel to it.  I thought this card was just perfect for the DH upon coming home from Turkiye.  Missed you dear.  Kisses.

 Should be on the plane today for like ever....well, only 15 hours if you count AIRPORT time as well as flight time.  I never sleep during the flight either so it's LONG, very long.  I am super thankful to the DH for getting me a business class ticket.  he's really the best ever!  love you honey.  I can't wait to see you.

Summer Sun

Time for the wonderful (?) summer sun in Istanbul.  I guess that is very relative.  It's about 10 to as much as 20 degrees cooler there than it is in my home of Austin, TX.  But, last summer there were record heat days in Istanbul over 100-degree F, that's of course with no Air Conditioning, which most people in America, especially south Texas, can't believe.  Even the place I stay, has no air.  At best there's a fan (and if not, I go buy one for the summer).

Heart from Turkiye

 Here's a gorgeous felt die cut heart that I got in Turkiye.  What a gorgeous embellishment to make a card. I just love many of the things I find there to use as creations.  This heart is one of them.  I added some pretty white butterflies in the corners.  Happy Friday everyone.  I hope you all have a great weekend

Happy Birthday Ms Johns

Wishing a very happy birthday to Ms. John's today.  She's one of the DHH teachers who is now retired, but she will come in a substitute for us, so we are more than thrilled to have her always. I worked with her multiple times in my first two years. She's such a good teacher and just a delight of a person to be around.

Mesmerizing

 Happy Monday everyone! we're now on the 2nd month of school.  WOW. I guess this is just the beginning of the second month, but who can believe that?  Sharing this beautful turkish embellishment, it's a gold peel-off type sticker that's a wonderful eye mesmerizing shape with a heart brad in the middle.
