For the DH

I have HUGE thanks for my DH who has stuck by me through all this.  The sickness before surgery, the surgery, the HUGE amount of changes after surgery and now....the wonderful normal life post surgery (with occasional panics about going back to pre-surgery life).  What a trooper he is.  He's the best, i tell you what, the BEST!  I had to whip out this Penny Black stamp, coffee theme of course just for him!

Here's the cutest Penny Black card using some gorgeous Turkish Lace that I just love.  I think the light brown lace set that I have is probably the best one.  But, then, I am biased, lol.  I probably use more white than anything and sell mostly cream/white combos.  At any rate, I love this lace on this card.  I hope you are having a wonderful week.

Got Bones?

Here's the cutest dog from Penny Black.  I added a home made sentiment to him, Got Bones?  TOO funny.  I think he is just perfect.    I also put on a bunch of bone confetti from Recollections.  Though now thinking, putting this cute dog inside a shaker card with the bones would have also been just adorable!

Winter Trio

Here's the cutest winter trio from Penny Black.  I thought this would make a lovely winter card, or could be made into a Christmas theme card as well.  I left mine as just a general winter theme card, I used a corrugated card from DCWV as the card base.  Today's the last day of school! I wish all the kiddos and the teachers a very happy holiday break

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday to Merve in Istanbul!  Hostess to my home away from home.  I hope I get good news soon (in December) that I will be traveling to Istanbul this coming summer, please keep your calendar open for me.  Hugs and Happy Birthday!

Of course I had to make a cat card for Merve.  What was so surprising the last visit was that her cat sat down with me on the first day that I arrived.  Usually that cat is not so friendly with the guests, or so I hear.  For her cat to come right up to me was quite unusual.

Happy 50!

Wishing a Happy 50th to the DH!!  About time you finally hit 50 like me.  (For those of  you who don't know us in person, he's been teasing me a lot since I hit 50 and he was still 49).  SIGH.  Well, now he's 50 too.  Sign him up for AARP.

 I love this cute little girl stamp from Penny Black.  This is one of the stamp sets that my DH bought me for Christmas.  Isn't it too cute?  I want to say the little girl is named Mimi?  I don't recall there being a name of the girl on the stamp set though.  TOO cute either way.  I am  using some great Turkish Lace to go with the card.

Here's a super cute image from Penny Black. I think I got this stamp from Austin Creative Reuse center. I rarely buy wood mounted stamps anymore, but occasionaly I will see a cute Penny Black or Whipper Snapper for just a $1 and I have to have it, lol!  Here's an example of one of them.  I think I also got that LOVE clip for the corner from the same store.

Dia de los Muertos

Here's an awesome die cut that John bought for me last Christmas. It's a Dia de los Muertos theme skeleton from Penny Black.  You know I love that theme.  I used a pop up card die from Sizzix to create this fun card and some bright and beautiful colors as that is what you would see being used for celebrating Dia De Los Muertos in San Antonio where I grew up.

I hope you have a great weekend.  I can't believe we are almost at the end of September!  Where has this year gone?  I guess being away in Turkiye and then coming home so late in the summer has just made this year so out of season to me.

Penny Black in Paris

Here's an adorable image from Penny Black from her Mimi stamps in Paris theme. While visiting family this Christmas in Iowa I learned that one of my nieces just loves Paris. I had given her a set of stickers and a little book that she could decorate.  She made me a darling little handmade card.  When I got home I cut her a bunch of Eiffel tower die cuts and gathered some assorted Paris theme items to send, along with this card.  Also while we were crafting together I was able to show her my sister and her husband who happened to be celebrating Christmas in Paris that year.

So, have you ever been to Paris?  I have not. The only place that I have traveled to is Istanbul. It was wonderful, I highly recommend it and I would go back there again, any time that I could.  I would love to hear where you guys have gotten to travel.

It's the most....

It's the most wonderful time of the year.....does this make a Christmas song start in your head?  I think they have been playing now since about June in Hobby Lobby, but perhaps just the last two months in most other locations.  But, no I am not talking about Christmas today, today is My Birthday!  not just my birthday, also several friends who have the exact same day!

So, for just one day in Dec, NO Christmas anything, just Holley.....ha ha.

My heart listens...

Here's an adorable Penny Black stamp.  I added a wonderful sentiment from Cosmo Cricket, "When your soul sings, my heart listens."  Oh how true.  Doesn't always take words coming out of someone's mouth for me to hear it.  Sometimes I can just look at him and know, good or bad, what he is thinking.  Of course for us, mostly good, but there are always those moments when I can tell he's holding back those crazy things that he would like to be saying to the people around us, lol!  ha!
