Friendship

Now that the real FIRE of summer is here in Texas, I just had to use the heat of summer to make a card. As August hits, we will be over 100 degrees just about 100% of the time. Even when it cools off, it will be in the 90s. Pretty crazy when you wait to go outside until 8 or 9pm and find out it's still in the upper 90s!! That's the trade off you get around here for the lack of snow all winter. Well the FIRE has inspired me for this stunning stamp of Elaine Cox. It's called Magical Springtime. If you have seen the original colors used, you can see the difference based on the color set that i have selected and used on this card.The card uses wonderful cardstock from Paper Temptress; fun flowers from Prima; Brads from Basic Grey; the Friendship stamp from Plate #55; Bling and Pearls from Martha Stewart and Queen&Co. The image was colored using Copic Markers.

Hope your summer is hot, hot, hot! Be sure to take a dip in the swimming pool!

What a Princess!

Oh Tilda! What a princess you are. Aren't there little girls out there that make you think that? I know a few like that. My niece Regina, she's a real cutie. She would love to wear such a beautiful dress with a little crown and everything. How adorable. I wish grown ups would stay so innocent and adorable too.Project Materials: Cardstock(Bazzill, Neenah); Rubber Stamps (Magnolia; saying-I Brake For Stamps); Buttons (Grandma's Button Bag); Border(Bazzill); Adhesives (Pop dots, Glue Dots, Glue All); Ink (Memento); Color(Copic Markers);

Tuesdays

Ahhh, nothing like a soak in a bathtub. Those of you who know me, you know I love that. Nothing like laying down in and relaxing there. I guess that's one reason that being so short is a good thing. I can fit in a standard sized bathtub (for the most part). When I saw this stamp at Whipper Snapper, I just had to get one!

Project Materials: Cardstock(Bazzill, Neenah, Unknown); Stamp(Whipper Snapper); Ink (Memento, Colorbox Chalk); Flowers (Prima); Brads(Basic Grey, Bo Bunny); Ribbon (Colorbok); Adhesives (Ribbon Glue, Pop dots, Glue all);

Lean on me!

Happy Sunday! Wishing you all a beautiful day. Here's another adorable stamp that I got from Whipper Snapper. I love this one. It's "Lean on Me". Sometimes we all need someone to lean on. Some of us need more people to lean on than others!! So hugs to all of you who have let me lean on you over the years. You are a true blessing. Call me when you need someone to lean on. The longer I have been healing, the stronger I have been feeling. It's been a truly unbelievable period now.
I am just over 5 months with NO seizures, little or no headaches, I have dropped over 40 pounds, it's just been amazing. I never believed that the pain and daily struggles would go away. I never even realized how much of a toll they had taken on my life until they were gone. What a miracle. Thank you, God!! (Thanks for everything!!) Hugs to all of you have been praying for me.

Social Butterfly

Here's a wonderful stamp from a stamp set sold at I Brake for Stamps. The image was stamped with black Memento ink and colored with Copic markers. The background was stamped in white stazon ink. What a beautiful social butterfly. I always wanted to be so free as a child, but I was much more shy back then.

The papers here come from The Paper Temptress here's a more defined scan, so you can see the detailing in the papers, especially the black colored paper, which is actually a wonderfully designed glossy paper. The light shining on the paper lets you see the actual definition. The brown columns has wonderful depth which is why I often use ink staining on the paper to show it.

Be sure to check the links in the right hand column to get your codes to save money the next time you buy products at I Brake for Stamps and the Paper Temptress!

Project Materials: Cardstock (Paper Temptress- Brown Columns, Heavenly White, Retro Black Glossy Lustre); Rubber Stamps (All Designs by-I Brake for Stamps); Ink (Memento; Stazon); Adhesives (Pop Dots, Glue All); Color (Copic Markers);

Set Sail With your Teddy Bear

Who else to take on a journey? I guess I always saw such cartoons as a child and thought balloons would lift me up and take me on a trip. I soon learned in science class that there was not nearly enough helium in those balloons. Oh well. At least I do still have an imagination (some what).

Sweet Wishes

Here's another wonderful stamp from Elaine Cox called Celestial Garden Fairy from Plate #34. I used a square Bazzill card with metallic paper to highlight the image. These images from Elaine are so beautiful. They stamp great and are so much fun to color.The embellishments are done in wonderful summery colors, bright oranges, dark yellows, deep blue, clear crystals, pretty pinks and a ribbon border on the bottom to bring all the colors together. I added a cute saying of "Sweet Wishes" to the side using a border punch.

Paper Temptress Fairy Flight

Here's a beautiful fairy card using some wonderful papers from the Paper Temptress. I love this columns paper that adds wonderful background texture to my cards. The green paper has beautiful flecks of mica in it. It didn't scan well here, but in person you can shift the card and see the shiny flecks that lay in the cardstock. Just a cute couple

Here's an adorable owl couple! I love this cute stamp from Stampendous. It's one of the cling mount (i.e. foam mount that is used with clear blocks) that they now offer. I love stamps that are sold this way. I tend to buy a lot of stamps unmounted nowadays and mount them onto EZ mount and store them in notebooks, so stamps that are already sold on cling mount are a bonus! I always seem to have my notebooks nearby, so they seem to get used more often too.

What's new?

How about a Whipper Snapper card? I was excited to see them have a sale on the 4th of July weekend so I put in a little order on their site. I am looking forward to that showing up, hopefully it will be here this weekend. Keep your eyes peeled for some new Whipper Snapper stamps used in cards very soon. This cutie is a little bird with his cat. We have been again enjoying some rain here in TX, so that makes the walking much easier in the cooler temperature (i.e. upper 80s instead of upper 90s, lol!)

Thinking of You

Here's a cute image from Hanglar & Stanglar. Just a note to let people know I am Thinking of them! I know I have been so quiet this year. I guess I used to call and write people a lot more than I have this year. I know I will eventually get back into that mode but after the surgery this year I have spent more time just being quiet and enjoying the little things in life.

Believe

This card started out with an old but fun piece of lace that I found. I loved the stitching on it and the sequins. I just wanted to include it in a card. This Sweet Pea stamp is designed by Elaine Cox and is called "Playing with Stars." To add the lace on the card I used staples in a misc pattern on the top and bottom and then added other metal embellishments such as brads, words and shapes.Next I think I want to try a fun piece of fabric or two on my cards. In hindsight I will say this ribbon was very loose and sheer which is why I used brads and staples for it, but for more solid ribbons or fabric, I would think about something like a xyron to adhere it. Wishing you a be-witching day!
