We're off to see the Wizard...

.....the wonderful Wizard of Oz. Didn't you love that movie as a child? I can remember seeing it many times as a little kid, then I can remember it becoming my brothers favorite movie for over a year. During that year, that movie was played at least TWICE everyday, sometime even more. Kid you not! at least TWICE a day. He knew every part by heart. This card makes me smile and think of him. I love this artist Kelly Ann's drawing of the characters. This stamp comes from Queen Kat stamps and is called "Friends of Oz" (CLICK HERE to see it in their store); Stay tuned tomorrow, it's the start of blog candy! Project Materials: Cardstock (Bazzill, Neenah); Rubber Stamp (Queen Kat Stamps); Ink (Memento, Colorbox Chalk); Words (NRN Stickers); Flowers (Imaginescense); Brads (Making Memories); Adhesives (Pop dots, Glue Dots, Glue All); Color (Copic Markers); Die Cuts (Spellbinders--Nestabilities);

Thinking of you

I am in love with this beautiful image from artist Brigid Ashwood. She's elegant. She looks so deep in thought and I added a wonderful "Thinking of You" stamp to the top of the card. This gorgeous woman comes from Plate #104 with another stunning stamp.
I wanted to make part of her look almost wooden and the other part look human so I am mixing a family of brown copic markers with skin tone copic markers. These colors go wonderfully with a brown cardstock base and red/black highlights. The border punch is from Martha Stewart and the bling I used is from Queen&Co.

I think this image itself makes the card say everything. A few beautiful embellishments to highlight the image is all it takes to give a wonderful greeting to the person you are thinking of.

Hope this card inspires you to go make a card today!
Cheers, Holley

I ordered them from the UK and have been waiting for these goodies to come since the beginning of March. OH, so wonderful!! Normally, I post a project I make everyday, but today I wanted to share a couple of projects that I received recently in the mail! Here's some wonderful thank you cards that surprised me in the mail! The beautiful green card below came from Audrey R. I just love the beautiful stitching and the wonderful fringe everywhere. Stunning. The one on the right hand side is a duel sided paper embellished with a multi-layered flower from Melissa-Marie M, so sweet Melissa!

Here's a lovely card from Jan L, who won the Button stamp set from me for guessing closest to the number of staples that it took to close up my head after brain surgery. Her winning guess--80 staples!! Thanks so much for this adorable card. I do so love those button stamp and how you used it here on the card.

No April Fools about that!The goodies on this card come from a set called Little Princess, see the set (Click HERE) on the Crafter's Companion Website. Never forget how to fly

Here's a beautiful stamp that I got from my DH (for those of you who don't know stamper shorthand, that's Dear Husband) for christmas. This stamp comes from one of my favorite online stores called Cat's Pajamas. I love this cute girl holding a bird. I added a wonderful saying "Never forget how to fly."Sometimes we all have downtime, I know when I was really sick, and I am talking about a 5-6 year period (you don't hardly realize how sick you are until you are suddenly NOT sick) it's easy to forget. Suddenly you wake up and realize not only do you feel better, but YOU can fly. You haven't forgotten, you just gave up on it. So let's all FLY now. As the allergens outside start settling down, I am back to walking 3-4 hours a day!

Project Materials: Cardstock (Bazzill, California Paper Goods, Neenah, AC); Stamps (Cats Pajamas); Ink (Memento); Die Cut (Nestabilties-Spellbinders); Bling (Queen&Co); Adhesives (Pop dots, Glue Dots, Glue All); Color (Copic Markers);

My heart belongs to you

Here's a beautiful image from artist Nikki Burnette named Arden (click here). This stamp is sold individually and on Plate #82. I love the coy look on her face and the mask she carries to hide herself. I think that makes the saying "My heart belongs to only you!" go with this card so well, as this woman would hide herself from others and only look her lover in the eye.
That great saying comes from plate #102. I used some wonderful paper from WeR Memory as the background on this card along with some mesh to give background color. I used some Colorbox chalk to soften the edges and add depth to the whiteness of the papers. Then I added some color matching buttons and ribbon to round out the card with some simple highlights.
Project Materials: Cardstock (WeRMemory Keepers, DCWV, Neenah); Rubber Stamps(Sweet Pea Stamps); Ink (Memento, Colorbox Chalk); Buttons (American Traditional); Ribbon (Michaels); Diecut (Spellbinders-Nestabilities); Adhesives (Pop dots, Glue dots, Glue all, Ribbon Glue); Color (Copic Markers);

Delightful

Here's another little faerie card, this one also comes from Faerie Song Art Stamps and I added a sweet saying "Our friendship is Faerie Delightful!" Been such a long week, by week I am talking of last saturday when the ultra high pollen counts hit us here in Austin to now, most days of which have been miserable. I pray that all those surrounding me are making it through the allergy season better than I am. I hope after another year without any seizures I will be able to get treatment for it. For now, I just suffer through it. I can't take medication for it.Project Materials: Cardstock (Bazzill, Nestabilities, Hobby Lobby); Rubber Stamps (Faerie Song Art Stamps); Ink (Memento, Colorbox Chalk); Ribbon (Doodlebug); Adhesives (Pop dots, Ribbon Glue, Glue All); Color (Copic Markers);

Sunday Angel Card

Here's a Sunday Angel card, something I don't think I have ever had before, a boy angel. Some time ago I showed half a duo called "Sweet and Toxic" from The Greeting Farm. Here's the other half. She was a cutie. So is he. So, I ask you, is he the sweetie? or perhaps are they both Sweet and Toxic? Hmmm. At any rate, I like this stamp and let us all have a wonderful Sunday. As the card says, Praise the Lord! We all have so much to be thankful for, especially me!Wanna go back and see the other card I made with the girl from Sweet &Toxic? she's a real darling too! (CLICK HERE) Be sure to read the entry below---more blog candy is on the way!!

Project Materials: Cardstock (Bazzill, Bazzill Swiss, Neenah); Ink (Memento, Colorbox Chalk); Rubber Stamp (The Greeting Farm); Saying (Hobby Lobby); Flowers (Prima); Bling (Queen&Co); Adhesives (Pop dots, Glue Dots, Glue All); Color (Copic Markers); Die Cuts (Spellbinders-Nestabilities)

Here's an adorable girl from Dog Gone Stamps. She's too sweet and has some flowers for you this spring. We're in full bloom here in Austin. I am having rotten allergy attacks. I guess it's much better than previous years when I would be knocked out and totally miserable, but this year I am in sinus misery and throat swelling. I suppose all that walking and being outside has its advantages (and disadvantages).Thanks to all the sweet notes I have been getting from those who have gotten their blog candy. Bee my Honey!

Here's a sweet teddy bear from Whipper Snapper and he's flying up into the heavens. I added a cute saying from Cat's Pajamas that says "Bee my Honey." Will say that I don't often use sayings with the word Honey in them as I have a sister named Honey, so that's not a name I often call people in endearment (other than her of course).

Become strong....Bloom

I love this adorable image from Tickled Pink. She's too much! I know how many times I have felt the way that she looks. I added the saying under her that I think can sum it up "become strong," I think that is often what picked me up. Then on the right side of the card I added what she is to become, beautiful flowers with the word "Bloom." As a tiny seed bursts through the earth and turns into a beautiful flower, so can we all burst through the trials of life and turn into what we should be. So, Bloom everyone!
