You are Loved

Here's a super cute image from Sweet Pea Artist Sandra Caldwell.  This wonderful image is called Old Lady Love Letter.    I used a combo of red and greens on her so I translated that onto the card itself.  I hope I managed to do that without it looking anything like Christmas.  I added a simple sentiment from Cosmo Cricket "You are Loved."

Here's a close up of the image, currently available in Digi Stamp format at the Sweet Pea store!

Here's a fun secret (well, guess it's not much of a secret now, is it?)--Sandra Caldwell drew me a stamp just for my 5th anniversary!!  Can you believe that?  How sweet is that!!  She made me the cutest image to celebrate my 5 years of seizure free life.  I have already made a wonderful card from it and I will be sharing it with you all on the 28th!!

What is your favorite card size?  I seem to be migrating more to the 6x6 size, but I often find it hard to get envelopes.  Or, the envelopes are exactly 6x6, so anything bulky won't go in the envie.  It often makes me trim down a 6x6 card a 1/4 or so to ensure it's going to fit in the envelope when finished.

Have you checked the winner list?  there's lots of goodies and I haven't heard from all the winners on there, if you name is in BOLD letters, I haven't gotten an email, drop me a line with either your email or your address. When I get your info, I change your name into blue.

Cute card. I don't think it looks Christmasy. My favorite card size is A2, followed by A4. I generally make rectangular cards. The largest I have ever made was 8.5 by 10". I made it for a friend who has vision problems, so I made everything giant so she could see it.

My cards are of different sizes , depending on the images of that use . But mostly doing 11x17cm large cards , namely because of the size of the envelopes .

My favorite size is 2.5x3.5 inches. I make a TON of ATCs! I make whatever I feel like for greeting cards though. A friend gave me a huge box of blank envelopes and they are all different sizes and shapes. I did recycle the largest ones though as I didn't have paper big enough to fit them. lol

I really like this little lady in today's image. She's cute. I don't think the card is Chrismas-y either. It is pretty cute though!

Beautiful creation, lovely image with beautiful coloring and love to see the gift image on 28th!
My cards are almost of various sizes, depending on my need and creativity and hand delivered to all my friends and relatives in a plastic pouch, so need of envelop:)

What a sweet image! And I adore all the amazing texture you've used!

Beautiful card. And even though you used red and green colour combination it doesn't look Christmassy. :)
I usually make 6x6 cards as well. But mine are always bulky, because I like to used lots of flowers and ofther embellishments. They never fit in a regular envelope. I either have to get a big(ger) padded envelope or a box to mail them out.
Have a great day!

How lovely that someone drew a stamp just for you. Its so nice when someone thinks of you, isn't it? Both the stamp and the card are lovely! I am still too new at making cards to know what my favorite size is.

I do A2, don't think I've ever tried making a 6 X 6! Sometimes the size depends on the cutting file I make and the size of the paper.

Wow, how fabulous that Sandra made you your own stamp - can't wait to see it! Your card today is lovely - such a sweet image! As for my favourite card size, I use A2 for my CAS cards and 6x6 for my embellished cards. Wishing you a joyful day!

How cute!! I love this image!! I would use it to send my BFF who is always there for me a card! My favorite size cards to make are A2, 5 x 7 and 6 x 6. Although, often I will make different size cards and then make my own envelopes so they fit. Can't wait to see the image that was made just for you!

Great card. Love the colors and the embellishments. How exciting to have your own stamp! Congratulations. I can't wait to see it. What a great honor. I usually make 6x6 or A2 cards. I have a We R Memory Keepers Envelope Maker so I can make envelopes to fit any size card - fat or thin.

I usually do 4 1/4 x 5 1\2. I really need to get out of my rut. I have an envelope board punch so making an envelope can make any size card work.

Love the card! I like larger card sizes. I bought a bunch of David Tutera card blanks on close out that are 5.5x5.5. They fit great in a 6 inch square envelope. I've also been using a lot of 5x7 and 6x6 cards.

Teresa Godines #6857 said...

I usually stick to either A2 or A4. Anything else makes it hard to find envelopes. This is another adorable card. TFS

A fabulous card Holley and not at all Christmassy. The image is adorable and I love the hearts and the bunting.
You are so lucky to have your own image designed by Sandra, I can't wait for the reveal.
I love using square cards, anything from 6" to 8". I always cut them down slightly so I can add dimension and they will still fit in the envelope. I often put the envelope underneath when I'm laying out my card to make sure everything will fit x

Great idea to use green. I wouldn't have thought of that for a heart, but it looks great. Still a traditionalist- I like to use the 4 1/4x5 1/2 - probably because the envelopes are readily available.

This card just makes me giggle! As for card size, I make mostly A2 cards so they can fit into regular envelopes. Not too big or too small!

Cute Card! I am a A2 size card person. I like that I can make the most cards out of a piece of card-stock since I do so many.

What a cute Image. this is so cute. I love that you have a stamp made just for you. That is just too cool. And I can wait to see it. I usually stay in the 4X6 area... But really I do move around it because sometimes it depends on the stamp or other things you want to use on the card.

Karenladd said...

Oooh, love that pretty heart doily and this adorable stamp! I also can't wait to see your personalized stamp and project!! I generally make A2 cards but also sometimes make square ones or long cards. Don't usually make really large cards though...too hard to mail!

lovely card, Holley.
i make more and more square cards, the will fit into a 6x6 envelope, so the card is 5,5x5,5 (less or more).
my standard card size is still DIN A5 folded, So the folded card is appr. 6x4. It's a standard size and goes through the mail without problems and quite cheap.
square cards through german mail cost more than double.

I adore that little woman! I usually pick an envelope out of my envelope drawer and then make the card to fit. I have all sizes of envys. Hint - Go to any card shop after any major holiday (Xmas, Easter, Valentines etc) and ask if they have any envys to give away and you may just walk away with a sizeable box full. They send back the unsold cards, but not the envelopes. I have two large dresser drawers full of multi colored, multi sized envelopes.

Unknown said...

How cool is that!!! I actually don't have a favourite size it happens to be whatever strikes my fancy at the time. 😊

Love Sandra's images. I won a 5x7 framed art colored by her of a long time ago. Have it in my craft room to inspire me.
I like to make 6x6 cards, unless I'm mailing them out-too much postage! So I usually end up making the 4-1/4x5-1/2 standard note card size.

Audrey R in Austin said...

Hi Holley - I still use the standard A2 size. But now with envelope makers, you can make any size envelope, so you shouldn't feel limited if you want to use the 6x6 size. You can make the envelopes if they are hard to find.

Berina RGA said...

beautiful card Holley... nice image... I do not have any specific size... Till now, I do not frequently send the cards that I make,.... So I have no idea about the envelopes.. or the cards that I have sent, I've used the bubble mailer...

Card size usually depends on the image I am using. I do like making square cards. I have a lot of 14cm square envelopes so that's always a favourite choice. Hugz
