Send my Fairy Godmother

At times, don't we all wish for a Fairy Godmother? After seeing Cinderella as a child I knew I always wanted one who was gonna fly in the window and grant all my wishes, but she never showed up. (Doesn't mean I still don't wish for it!) I love this cutie from The Greeting Farm. Perhaps she will grow up one day and turn into a Fairy Godmother for someone.Project Materials: Cardstock(Bazzill, DVWV Metallic, Paper Studio); Stamps (The Greeting Farm; Saying-Rubber Stampede); Ink (Memento); Border Punch (Martha Stewart); Bling(hand dyed dew drops); Adhesives (Glue all, Pop dots, Glue dots); Color (Copic Markers);

Be Happy

Here's a sweet giraffe stamp from Whimsy Stamps. I paired him with a great saying from TAC, "If you want to be happy, be." I do think happiness can be that simple at times. Sometimes you just have to let it out of yourself and be happy in spite of everything around you :)

Project Materials: Cardstock (Bazzill, Neenah); Stamps (Whimsy Stamps; Saying-The Angel Company); Ink (Memento, Colorbox Chalk); Buttons (unknown, but I think American Traditional); Adhesives (Pop dots, Glue dots, Glue all); Color (Derwent Watercolor Pencils); Stampin' Up Blender Pen;

So Foxy!

Here's an adorable set of images from Starving Artistamps. I love this cute fox and the saying that comes with him. This card is to celebrate my DH coming home from his trip to San Fran. The cat and I have been missing him this week. Of all the weeks he was gone, it would be week that I get bitten by a neighborhood dog. I walk everyday for 2-2.5 hours and the week he is gone is when one runs up and bites me. UGH. I know my hubby felt awful for not being here to help me. I'm just happy he will be home!!Project Materials: Cardstock(Bazzill, Archivers, Neenah); Stamps(Starving Artistamps); Flowers (Prima); Ink (Memento, Colorbox Chalk); Mini buttons (Grandma's Button bag); Adhesives (Pop dots, Glue all, Glue Dots); Color (Copic Markers);

A Tomboy....like me

I really like this image from I Brake for Stamps. It's a more realistic type of image of a tomboy little girl. That was always me as a kid. I wasn't big on frilly clothes, I didn't like pretty dolls; I wanted to play in the mud and see the bugs; I liked science and math. I remember my favorite toy as a little girl was a dump truck that my grandfather gave me. Girly girl things were just not for me. I guess that is why I grew up and eventually got into science, became an engineer and computer programmer; I like hobbies collecting fossils and watching basketball. That's just how I am. The wonderful "Beauty is inside" saying comes from the Stampinback section (see here).Be sure to use my coupon code the next time you go to the I Brake for Stamps website. The have been adding new stamps to the updated site regularly. Coupon is 10 percent off your purchase, code is SAVE10HOLLEY

Meet Oleander

Thought I would sneak in at least one Halloween card this week. Here's a sweet girl named Oleander. She's from the Sweet November line of stamps at CC Designs. They just came out with some new stamps this month called Twisted Sisters. I really like Oleander. Her cute little wings and witchy dress. After picking her, I realize I may have to get another stamp from this artist someday.
Be sure to vote for your favorite card last week! Vote is on the top of the right hand column!

Project Materials: Cardstock (Bazzill, Neenah, Archivers); Rubber Stamp (CC Designs Sweet November); Flowers (Prima); Brads (Basic Grey); Ribbon; Border (Doodlebug); Chipboard Accent(Cloud 9); Adhesives (Pop dots, Glue All); Color (Copic Markers);

Goldilocks and the three bears

Here's a wonderful little girl and she just loves the three bears. This little Goldilocks isn't scared of the bears at all. She has her arms wrapped around them and is hugging away!! Just my way of sending you guys, a really huge hug today! What a fun stamp from Kraftin' Kimmie.

Something I haven't done in a long time is have a voting contest for card of the week. Thought I might try that this week. It's on the top of the right hand column. Please vote and let me know what your favorite card was last week!

Project Materials: Cardstock (Bazzill, Pressed Petals, Neenah); Rubber Stamps (Kraftin Kimmie); Ink (Memento, Colorbox Chalk); Borders (K & Co.); Adhesives (Pop dots, Glue All); Color (Copic Markers); Die Cutter (Sizzix, Nestabilities);

Time Flies

This stamp is an elegant image from Artist ching chou kuik in her Fantasy Art line for Sweet Pea Stamps. My version here looks so very different from her original coloring on the website. I thought this image could also be converted into a Halloween style image if you liked. The stamp is called "Time Flies."This card folds down the center. To ensure that it opens of course, adhere the image to only half of the fold. I used a lot of white ink to make the coloring on the backdrop of the card lighter and silkier. I wanted it to look like fabric, like the image is floating on top. Then I added a row of small buttons on each side of the crease where the card folds together.

Project Materials: Cardstock (Bazzill, Neenah); Rubber Stamps (Sweet Pea Stamps); Ink (Memento, Versamark); Buttons (Jesse James buttons); Adhesives (Popdots, Glue Dots, Double stick tape); Color (Copic Markers);

Tilda says Happy Halloween

Here's adorable little Witch Tilda wishing everyone a Happy Halloween along with her rubber spider. I suppose it may look like a real spider, but what kind of adorable little girl would be carrying around a real spider? (and p.s. it only has 6 legs, what kind of spider would be 2 legs short, lol!!) I would certainly not be doing this as a kid and I wasn't really all that girly.Project Materials: Cardstock (Bazzill Dotz, Neenah, Archivers); Stamps(Tilda-Magnolia Rubber Stamps; Saying-Studio G); Ink (Memento, Colorbox Chalk); Adhesives (Pop dots, Glue All); Flowers (Prima); Brads (Basic Grey); Color (Copic Markers); Die Cut (Nestabilities); Punch (Creative Memories);

Fluffles Ghost

It's one of my favorite cats, Fluffles from Stampendous. Here he is in his Halloween costume. Turns out he's quite a scaredy cat!! Hard to see based on the scanner but the ghost costume he is wearing has actually been colored in a couple of very light shades of grey. This kind of washed out in the photo making it look stark white.
For those of you who haven't been to Sweet Pea's site, she's having a GREAT grab bag sale right now, get 10 stamps for only $20!! That's only $2 each. Less than 1/2 price. See HERE!!

Happy Sunday Card!

Here's a Sunday card for all of you. "Let your light so Shine" Matthew 5:16; or, if you are familiar with the whole verse, Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
I must admit that thinking of the seriousness of this verse alone the simpleness and cuteness of this card seems a bit silly for such a verse. But, I hope letting my light shine for people will make their light shine as well.
Project materials: Cardstock (California Paper Goods-Ruby Mica); Borders (All My Memories-Herbanella); Vellum Quote (DCWV); Eyelets (unknown); Eyelet punch (Fiskars);

Just Batty for you!

I am just Batty for you!! Here's another adorable image from the Kraftin' Kimmie Halloween line. This stamp is extra special for the Austin area as we have one of the largest and most well known bat colonies in North America. It's really amazing. During certain months of the year you can be near down town on the bridge and see the bats fly out in a huge group for a long time, it's truly amazing. It looks almost like a stream of smoke until you really look and realize that it's small bats. There's an estimate of about 1.5 million bats.

Last chance to sign up for the blog candy!! Picking the prize winners will happen on sunday (Tomorrow!!) and announements will come on monday, so please go down and sign up, it's the Aug 17th blog entry to find the contest.

Jack'o Lantern Greetings

Here's one of the wonderful new stamps off the sheet that I Brake for Stamps just released for Halloween. I love these happy pumpkins. I am using a beautiful sheer mica paper as well. It's shimmery with an almost metallic shine in it. It's hard to see from the photo, but I also used the Happy Halloween stamp from the same sheet of stamps. It shows up wonderfully on the card, but the flash from the camera makes the shimmer from the card almost as bright as the white text.I hope this card makes you feel like making some great Halloween cards! Be sure to use my coupon code when you go by their store SAVE10HOLLEY
