Happy Monday everyone! It's now week 5 of school. Today will be an observance of the events of 9/11. It's such a hard thing to really explain to most kids as young as we have what really occurred. They have never lived in a pre- 9/11 world. The upper 4th and 5th grades can perhaps grasp some of the detail, but the younger grades it's very limited what we can explain to them. At any rate. My heart still go out to all those affected by those events. Thank you to all the rescue workers!

Such a lovely card! A six year old student came down the hall on that fateful day and told me about the first plane. Trying to explain to first graders was a challenge.
