Journey

Here's some wonderful images from Graciellie Designs.  I am using the The Journey set which comes with the bird and three sentiments including the one shown. This amazing set is only $3! Also, I am using the Black and White paper collection that is shown in the background.  It's a paper set with 6 different paers from Graciellie Designs.  All the wonderful papers on this card are from Paper Temptress.

I am also using all Paper Temptress papers on this card, the base of the card is paper bag.  The images and the paper collection background image is printed out on Neenah Solar White Classic Crest paper.  The Blue layer is a wonderful textured paper called Ruche, Sky Blue Crepe.  The shimmery blue layer is a Mica/Metallic paper called Lapis Lazuile.

Somewhere....Over the Rainbow

Here's a great image from Ike's Art!  This wonderful freebie is available at her Challenge website, Ike's World Challenge Blog.  The theme of the current challenge is anything goes, Over the Rainbow.  I am using this week's awesome freebie and I even added a great arrow filled with rainbow colors pointing to her!

I hope you will all go check out Ike's Art shop for some wonderful stamps and she has a great Facebook group, Ike's Art Fan Page, where we all card share and she gives away awesome images there as well!

Cheers, Holley

Sassy Studio Designs

Here's a sexy image from Sassy Studio Designs.  I adore this artist wonderful women stamps.  I just had to add some fun handcuff charms to go with it.

I hope everyone is having a great week.  Here it is spring break, so it's much quieter than usual and the park and other places are filled with children and their parents.  I have recently gotten a Fitbit (ok a fitbit knockoff) and started walking again.  So yesterday my step count was 21300.  About 7.25 miles.  That's a bit slow for me, but I am just starting to get back to the swing of things so I need to take it slow.  I really had no idea how many steps I ever took before.

Graciellie Designs and Paper Temptress Papers

We are having a wonderful Blog hop today using gorgeous stamps from Graciellie Designs, she has wonderful stamp sets in a brand new store on Etsy.  All of her remarkable images come with beautiful and eloquent sentiments. She is also selling wonderful digi papers which I have used below.   I have combined her stamps with beautiful papers from Paper Temptress to complete my card.

I am using the a set called You are the Sweetest, which comes with the darling kitty image shown plus the sentiment used and 2 additional sentiments.  This wonderful set is available for only $3.50.  The background paper I am using (digi paper printed on Neenah Solar white) is from the Black and White Patterns digi paper pack.  It has the paper I am sharing plus an additional 5 other designs.

I am using gorgeous papers from Paper Temptress on this card.  The base of the card is Basis Black.  The Red paper has a wonderful mica dust sparkle infused in it, it's called Vermillion Sparkle.  The white paper is Neenah Solar White Classic Crest.  The Shimmery gold that the cat and the sentiment are layered on is Mica called White Gold.

Here's the adorable stamp and paper set I used from Graciellie Designs:

Today there is a great Blog Hop going on with two awesome $20 gift certificates.  The prize winners will be announced on April 1st on both the Paper Temptress Blog as well as the Graciellie Design Blog.  So please take a little time and hop around to check out all the great stamps and beautiful papers.

Hello Friend

Here's the cutest Bestie image from Sherri Baldy.  There's a brand new contest started at the SSS Challenge blog today, it's Anything Goes + Distressed edges.  I did tearing around my image and on the other parts of the card I used a file to rub the edges to make them more coarse.  I used the texted paper (Bazzil Swiss) so you could see the paper distress better.

Drop by the SSS Challenge blog and check out the Design team's work and then you can share with us your current Sherri Baldy project.

Cheers, Holley

Irish Blessing

Here's a lovely image from Creative Bug.  I love this Easter Lily stamp and I added the Irish Blessing to go with it

"May God grant you many years to live,

For sure He must be Knowing

the earth has angels all too few

  And heaven is overflowing."

We are having a challenge on Outlawz Monday Greetings Challenge this week and it starts tomorrow.  You can either use Shamrocks or use an Irish sentiment.  As always no matter your card's theme, make sure and include a sentiment on the front of your card.  We can't wait to see what you create.

OK, the KJ Arting digi stamp prizes went out yesterday.  So Linda, Sandra, Virginia, Jean, Em Louise, Donna, Shell, you should now have those prizes!!

Bell Fairy

Here's the cutest new image from Sandra Caldwell today.  She's called Bell Fairy #1370.  Don't you just love her fairy hair?  too cute!  She also looks like she has some attitude!  She will be brand new in the Etsy store- Babycakes DND today along with many other brand new images by Sandra.

Life is so good

Here's the cutest image from LOTV that I made a darling card with using gorgeous Paper Temptress Papers.  Did you know Lili of the Valley is now selling their fun images as Digis?  I was super excited to get several of my favorites now in digi format.

I am using some gorgeous MICA cardstock as the base of this card, the color is Flame.  I matted the adorable teddy printed on Heavenly White on some red cardstock called Rocket Red.  To add some depth and more texture I used some great ruche called Black Crepe.

Hello Handsome

Sharing one of my favorites from Simply Betty today and it has a great saying from Unity Stamps.  Totally love this image, she does lots of wonderful lady stamps.

Hope you all are having a great week.  I am starting to hear from the winners, I am so glad your packages are arriving.

I haven't gotten the KJ Arting order put in yet as I am waiting for one more person, Sammi if you see this, please contact me.

Cheers, Holley

Hug Me

There's a wonderful challenge going on over at the Lizzy Love (Oddball Art Challenge) Blog.  It's Crazy little thing called Love.  I had to use this precious image of hers to create this card.  I just LOVE her girlie images.  She definitely looks like she needs a hug about now, perhaps her love is going unrequited.

Check out their current challenge (click here).

Has anyone gotten their packages yet?  I am dying to hear....

OK, so I got one package back, it was Cara M, not because it had the wrong address, but because they say I put in in the post box and it was over 13 oz....UGH, so that one is getting remailed today.  Also Kathy,  yours got lost in the pile yesterday and is going out today as well along with a winner from Feb 8th, Beth.

So I spent yesterday afternoon cleaning up the area that I have been using and putting away the prizes that are left and what did I find?!? TWO BOXES, one with just brads and eyelets and such and another box with ribbons and such.  WOW.  Guess we will be saving those until next year ;)

Springtime fun

Here's a gorgeous image from Eureka stamps.  They are the sponsor of the Monday Greetings Challenge at Outlawz.  The theme this week is spring or easter.  I am using this adorable image for a springtime card, though I think this wonderful girl would also be perfect for an Easter card as well.  She's called Girl with Bunny.

Drop by Outlawz Monday Greeting challenge to check out all the DT creations and then join in by sharing one of your spring/easter cards.  As always, don't forget that your card needs to have a sentiment on the front of your card to join in.

OK the digi stamps have all gone out, or a request has gone out to get your preferences.  I am waiting for ONE person's response for the KJ Arting still.  If you were on the prize list for ANY digi stamp and didn't receive your prize, check your spam folder and if it's not there, just email me and I will resend. htondre@aol.com

The following packages have gone out in the mail today:  Virginia M, Pat R, Pat M, Kathy, Melody S, Jean C, Amy M, Jennifer

That should be the majority of the packages, I have only 2 packages left (Mary and Suz);  so if you didn't see your name for your package getting mailed, PLEASE Let me know.....

Cheers, Holley

Not my dolly

Here's a quick and cute card using a wonderful image from Lemon Shortbread. I love this artists images.  This stamp is called Gothic Lolita, Not My Dolly.  Isn't she awesome?  I am using some great Turkish Lace on the base of the card.

Hope you will have a great upcoming week!  I will get the rest of the packages mail and will let everyone know as they go into the mail.

I just sent out the Ike's Art image to the people who won that.  At this point if you won digi stamps, you should have received them OR been given an email to choose which stamps you wanted.

I have not gotten the stamps yet from KJ Arting as I am waiting for everyone to make their choices.

All the others have been sent, if you don't have your, please check your SPAM else, drop me a line and let me make sure I sent it to you, htondre@aol.com

Love....

Here's a lovely image from Squigglefly, they are now closed, but I always loved Lynn Stansbery's images.  This one is no exception.  I think the sentiment is just perfect with it.  I used an embossing folder on the background and some wonderful flower 3d stickers on the front.

I am in the process of getting my packages in the mail now!  Whew, so much work.   I can't wait to see what everyone creates with their prizes, I would totally love to see your creations.  Send me a photo or a link to your blog so I can share it!

so yesterday I was asked a couple questions that I thought I would share as I am sure it's not just one person's curiosity (if you have a question, send it to me);

Hi Holley,
I am also a card maker and, as my cards seem to pile up faster than I send them out, I always wonder what others do with their completed cards? You posted one or two cards for every day in February, which really impressed me...and are often posting throughout the year. I would love to see more info on your blog about your process, how you color you digis and what you use for coloring. Also, do you donate your cards, or send them to family and friends? Do you sell them? Knowing a bit about the process makes seeing projects even more fun for me...and I might even pick up a tip or two. Thanks again for a fabulous February celebration...and hello to March!
Karen Ladd

Karen, I do a card everyday for my blog.  So at least 365 a year.  Now that's a LOT of cards.  Like you said, I also find I have cards piling up in my house faster than I can send them out (or go broke with postage doing so).  I do a combination of gifting cards to certain people, those who I know appreciate something handmade and will also USE the cards (as opposed to stockpiling them in their own home).  I also donate them to several places.  My primary location is the local church which I attend. We have a bazaar each year and I sell them there very inexpensively.  Most of my cards are created as part of a design team work and thus I received free papers, free stamps and other supplies to make them.  I am not trying to re-coup the money I spent on them.  I am just happy that they cards find a new home and the charity which the church is sponsoring gets some much needed financial assistance.

I don't sell, necessarily, but when I teach card-making classes I will take lots of sample cards with me that might sell.  When I say that I don't sell, what I mean is that I don't MAKE cards with the idea of selling.  That to me can take the fun away from making cards if I always have to keep in mind the idea "is this going to sell?" with every stamp I get, every supply I buy, every topic I enjoy, every embellishment I add on.  I want to make what I love, I don't want to make what I have to make that sells.  I have done it before, a museum wanted 10 copies of a set of seashell cards.  So 70 cards.  UGH, I wanted to poke my eyes out after that.  I hate making the same card over and over again.  So in short, I make what I love for pleasure first, not for what I think I can sell.  Just my own preference.

I use Copic Markers for coloring.  That's been my preference for the last 8 years or so.  I am an engineer by trade but I did take art in both high school and college.  I will have to set up a tutorial type project sometime to share more details on a project if that interests people.

Hope this answers your questions today

Cheers, Holley

Gorjuss Girl

Here's one of my favorite stamps of all time, I guess more correctly would be my favorite stamp characters of all time.  I am sure that is obvious because of my blog header.  I just LOVE Gorjuss Girls.  Oh, these stamps are just TOO cute.  How can you not love them?  Well, I do know some people don't like them, my husband says they (like Magnolia stamps) are totally creepy because they don't have a mouth.

I just love them though.  When I was in Turkiye this summer I was fortunate enough to find a store that had the Santoro line of merchandise.  For people in Europe, this may be common, but in the USA, we don't ever see this merchandise.  It's quite pricey, but I was able to chose to get a nice wallet for myself that was a Gorjuss Girl theme.

Want to see my living room? It's covered in envies and crafting stuff as i package everything to get ready for mailing....

Did you see the grand prize winner list:

I will say I have a least half of them wrapped up, now what they need is postage!!  so I am getting ready to start listing names of the packages going into the mail

ALSO--Give me a day or two and I will start emailing out the DIGI stamp prizes, it will take me a moment to get the emails together and start sending them out.

Did you see the grand prize winner list
