Tilda and the Ladybug

Welcome to a new week. I can't believe November is coming to a close and December is about to start. Today's card features Tilda of Magnolia Stamps and her little ladybug friend.

Just as the sentiment says, I wish you all a Happy Day today. As I have learned over the last couple of weeks, live each day you get to the fullest. You never know when life will throw you a curve ball. Find the good in everyday. There are so many wonderful things going on all around you.

Meet Elly

Meet Elly from Faerie Song Art Stamps. She's a cutie. I paired here with a fun saying "Hold a true friend with both hands." I have a lot of wonderful friends and don't have enough hands to hold everyone. Hugs to you all

Thought I would try a blue and orange combo. These are colors that art teachers tell me go together but I don't always naturally put them together.

Project Materials: Cardstock (westrim, bazzill, DCWV); Stamps (Faerie Song Art Stamps); Flowers (Prima); Ink (Memento); Color (Derwent Inktense, Copic Markers); Brads (Basic Grey); Ribbon (Unknown); Adhesives (Ribbon glue, Glue All);

Fall Fantasy Girl

This adorable girl comes from Sweet Pea Stamps. I love her because she is so versatile. The foliage that surrounds her face can be colored in different ways which allows this image to be a great image for fall, spring or summer.

I paired the stamp with a beautiful saying that is also from Sweet Pea. "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart. Helen Keller"

Project Materials: Cardstock (Bazzill); Stamps (Sweet Pea Stamps); Ink (Memento); Color (Copic Markers); Leaves (Grandmas Button Bag); Adhesives (Glue All, Glue dots, Pop dots);

Sugar Nellie's Daisy

Here's a stamp that Sugar Nellie simply called "Daisy". What a sweet little girl. I love how she looks so innocent and thoughtful. The saying "The Kingdom of heaven is within you...." was something that I can imagine her sitting there thinking about.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I hope you all have a wonderful day with your families and friends. May God be with you all on this, the day we give Thanks. I am especially thankful for this past year. I am thankful that my health has held out and that God has brought me to accept possible surgery. I am very thankful for my dear husband John and my supportive friends and family.

Be the Change

Here's an adorable image of Hanglar from Hanglar&Stanglar sitting up on the branch of a tree. She's so cute. I love how the shading turned out on her outfit. I paired her with a saying from Ghandi "Be the CHANGE you want to see in the WORLD."

What a different place the world would be if we all took that advice. Can you imagine a world without war? without hate? without poverty? I guess with Thanksgiving around the corner, now is a good time to think about a world like that.

Project Materials: Cardstock (DCWV); Ink (Memento, White Pigment ink); Stamps (Hanglar&Stanglar Rubber stamps; Saying-unknown); Color (Derwent Inktense);

My Friend

Here's a cute Tilda card, sitting on the ledge above the pretty flowers. My house smells of flowers from all the bouquets I got while in the hospital. I can smell the roses very strongly here at the computer.

Hope you are having a great week and are getting prepared for Thanksgiving. I don't think we will do anything for thanksgiving this year. It will just be John and I, so we will probably go out and eat somewhere.

Bad Hair Day?

I love this cute little girl. She's from Stamping Bella. Her hair is curly and everywhere. I have super thick straight hair, so I always wanted curly hair as a child. I even curled my hair a lot during childhood through college.

Project Materials: Carstock(Bazzill, DCWV, California Paper Goods); Stamps (Stamping Bella); Ink (Memento); Color (Derwent Inktense); Buttons (Jesse James Buttons); Brads (unknown); Adhesives (pop dots, glue all, glue dots);

CC Designs Fairy Girl

Today should be my last day in the hospital. I hope to have news soon about whether they will do the surgery or not.

Diane Duda's Cat

Here's a great new stamp from Diane Duda of Sugar Nellie Rubber Stamps. I wanted to pair Pink and Orange for this card.

I started by coloring the image in various shades of pink and orange using my Derwent Inktense watercolor pencils. Then everything just came together by adding more shades of pink and orange to complete the look. I think this stamp would look great with lot of different color combinations.

Project Materials: Cardstock (Bazzill, DCWV); Stamp (Sugar Nellie Rubber Stamps); Ink (Memento, Colorbox Chalk); Buttons (Grandma's button bag); Flowers (Prima); Button Brads (Making Memories); Ribbon (Fire Mountain Gems); Adhesives (Pop dots, glue dots, glue all)

Pumpkin Girl Emma

Here's a cute little card of Emma wearing a pumpkin hat! SO adorable. I have removed the rest of the stamp and just framed her face using Spellbinders embossing dies.
Today is my first day in the hospital. I am all hooked up and ready now. I have some WIFI connection so I can occassionally check in. They will be running lots of tests as well as inducing seizures, so once that starts happening, it will be too hard to do things on the computer. Nothing more miserable than days of seizures. Wish me luck!

Project Materials: Paper (Bazzill); Stamp (Emma-CC Designs); Ink (Memento); Color (Copic Markers); Borders (Doodlebug); Die Cuts (Spellbinders);

Faith Blog Hop, Day 3

(to read more about the Friends of Faith blog hop, scroll down to friday and saturday's posts)

Here's my card for today. "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways, acknowledge him and he shall direct thy path."

This is a HUGE week coming up for me. I find this card particularly fitting as I am about to go into the hospital for testing. It's quite a surprise really, as I have always been very anti surgery. But here we are and here I go. I pray that the Lord will guide me and help me to deal with the outcome of this week, regardless of the results. I will either find out that I am a good candidate for brain surgery and will then face brain surgery OR I will find out that I am not a good candidate for surgery; that will be a very depressing blow. So either outcome is a little scary and will take much faith to get through. I have made some great cards for you all to see next week. Please come by and visit everyday. I hope to have WIFI connections at the hospital, so I will leave messages as I can. Hugs to you all!!

Tilda is a Tweet Heart

Here's a cute fall color Tilda as she looks at a little tweetie bird. What a tweet heart!!

Have any of you ever had a bird come up to you? I can't think of an occasion, even someone's pet who has flown up to me. One time in Hawaii we did take a photo with some tropical birds, one on each shoulder and one on my head! Too bad I didn't look good in those photos. They never made it into the scrapbook.

Here's a super cute fairy stamp from Faerie Song Art Stamps. Her name is Sassafras. I got several adorable stamps from Faerie Song last week. Their rubber is top notch.

The cat is actually part of a larger image, but he was so sweet that I thought he deserved a card all his own. Friends make everything bearable!

Here's a cute bear from CC Designs. I colored him up with Derwent Inktense watersoluable pencils and blended it with a blender pen. I used a cute saying from Stampin' Up to go with him.

Let us all be thankful for all our friends today. They do make life better don't they? They are the first ones we want to share our good news with and the first ones who console us when something bad happens. HUGS to all of you, especially my Internet friends. I won the Sweet Pea DT challenge!

I won the first Sweet Pea challenge. Contest required use of Bright red, yellow and blue in the same card and only use Sweet Pea Stamps. The contest ended today and my card was the winner by website vote.

Thanks so much to everyone who voted for my card. I am going to get a great sheet of Sweet Pea stamps, probably one of their newer sheets when they are released next month. They just put out three new sets of Fantasy art by artist ching-chou kiuk. You can see some of these on my site, as I made card for the release party.

Thanks for your support everyone. Hugs, Holley

Sunday Card

Well, I usually make this morning the time for my Sunday Angel card, but I found this stamp in my drawers and this is the perfect Sunday for using it. I hope it's large enough that you can read the card.

"What is a Christian? It's like being a pumpkin. God picks you from the patch, brings you in and washes all the dirt off you may have gotten from the other pumpkins. Then He cuts the top off and scoops out all the yucky stuff. He removes the seeds of doubt, hate, greed, etc., then He carves you a new smiling face and puts His light inside you to shine for all the world to see!" So, Let your light shine on!

I have posted the new "Vote for Card of the week" Poll. It is in the right hand column. Please take a moment and pick your favorite card from last week!

Project Materials: Stamp (Eureka Stamps; pumpkin-unknown); Cardstock (unknown); Pumpkin cutouts (DCWV); Ink (Memento, Colorbox Chalk);
