Pumpkin Perfect
Here's a super adorable image from Simply Betty Stamps. I got this cute digi from one of her great sales recently. I just love this cute costume. If only I had an adorable Jack O'Latern outfit like this with some stripe-y sock to match. I would totally wear that on Halloween.
I added some great embossing from Tim Holtz and a spider brad to go with it....Now if we can change her look to a little bit scared, perhaps her man will come save her from the spider....if it was me, I guarantee you my hubby would be called to the room.Project materials: Cardstock (Bazzill, DCWV, Neenah); Image (Simply Betty Stamps); Ink (Colorbox Chalk); Brad (Recollections); Die Cuts (Spellbinders Nestabilities); Embossing (Tim Holtz); Bats (K&Co.); Color (Copic markers); Adhesives (Pop dots, Glue all, Glue dots);

Love Magic
Well this card is definitely a witch, but she is strikingly beautiful and certainly not looking like a Halloween theme card. I just had to make her now though, as I think you could change up the colors used and make her in to a more Halloween image you wanted. I also think she would make an awesome Valentine card. She's from Sweet Pea artist ching-chou kiuk and she is Love Magic (Plate #249). Can you just imagine the spells and potions she is creating?
Here's a close-up of this wonderful image that you can also buy in digital format. I added a simple embellishment of a die cut heart from Memory Box and some perfectly matching buttons to go with her. I think she's gorgeous all by herself on this card.

Cute as she can be!
Here's a sweet little girl from Scrapbook Stamp Society artist Sherri Baldy. This cutie is img872. I had to color her up in yellow which is a favorite of mine. I added red flowers on her outfit, so I decided to put some pretty red flowers on the card. The SSS Challenge this week is to create a card using flowers and ribbons.
I added a simple sentiment from Cosmo Crickett "Her mind could imagine the most beautiful things." She sure looks like she has a lot on her mind, doesn't she?
Drop by the SSS Challenge blog this week and share your card with us using some flowers and ribbons. I can't wait to see what you make! The SSS Company will be awarding free digi stamps to the winner as well as the runner up!

Pumpkins, my favorite
Here's one of my favorite things ever...yes, it's the orange, but also, yep, it's pumpkins. For those of you who know, you know I love pumpkin--lately they have already been bring out the pumpkin, even though TX is very much in summer. I have been enjoying pumpkin bagels, cream cheese lately. Now I am also seeing pumpkin cookies, cheesecake, bread, ice cream, and a ton of other goodies. YUM. This great image is from Squigglefly artist and the challenge this week is to make a farm related card. I can think of nothing more farm related than this!! In fact for many of us "city slickers" often times the only farm like environment we might see would be in fall time going out to buy a pumpkin somewhere. This cute image is called Pumpkins and is on sale for just $1 from Squigglefly artist Pamela Lehto. What great work and perfect for Halloween or Thanksgiving.
I hope you will join in on the fun this week. Squigglefly Challenge blog is having new samples now, and you can enter a card in this week's contest--anything farm related. I can't wait to see what you make!
Cheers, Holley

Meet Priscilla
Here's my take on the Sweet Pea variation this month using an adorable image from artist Conie Fong. This cutie is called Priscilla. Isn't she the cutest? What an adorable little witch. I colored her up in copic blues B91-B94 with a tiny bit of purples V12-16 and orange YR04. That big skull there was actually something I found in my grocery store of all places, I suppose it's just for use as a decoration, but it was too cute not to go on some cards!
Here's a close up of this fun image, which is also available as a digitial-stamp (click here).
When I look at the close up of this image, don't you love that little 'ol spider on top of the broom? that's too cute! Hope you get some fun images for Halloween. Sweet Pea stamps has a bunch of gorgeous Halloween theme images, which is so my favorite holiday to make cards for.
Cheers, Holley

Wicked
Here's a fun Halloween theme card today using a devilish image from Simply Betty Stamps and some gorgeous specialty papers from Paper Temptress. It can be hard to see from the image here, but the base cardstock is wonderful textured ruche in black.
On top of the ruche (also called crepe) in Black Crepe, I am using a wonderful transparency printed in gold. These overlays come from Hambly. You can buy them individually, and a 12x12 sheet will last a long time if you are a card maker like me, or you can get a great overlay combo pack, which gives you a wonderful assortment of 6x6" pcs that work perfect for cards like this. The one I am using here is called Gold Woodgrain. The red paper that gives a wonderful sparkle to it is the incandescent Rosso. I printed my image up on Neenah Solar White using my computer since it was a digital image. I find the 80lb white paper runs through the printer great and works very well with copic markers.
Project Materials: Cardstock (Paper Temptress); Stamp (Simply Betty Stamps); Ink (Colorbox Chalk); Die Cut (Xcuts); Punch (Martha Stewart); Buttons (); Charm (Making Memories); Sticker (); Adhesives (Pop dots, Glue All, Glue dots);

Squigglefly Challenge
Happy Monday everyone!! It's time for this week's Squigglefly Challenge. The challenge this week is to include a sentiment on your card. It's that easy. You can add a wonderful sentiment that comes with many of the images sold, you can add your own sentiment, you can buy a sentiment separately (there's a whole bunch of fun sentiments at Squigglefly for just 99 cents!!) or you can add an embellishment that has a sentiment on it. Any of these choices qualifies. Here's my fun card this week, I am using a great image of a kitty called Temptation by Judith Hart. The brand new sentiment from artist Charlene Mitchell is called Thinking of You.
I added some fun shaped buttons and decorative corner cutouts too. Drop by the Squigglefly Challenge Blog and see what the other Holley Hobbyists created for this week's challenge and then create your own card. You just need to add a sentiment to it to qualify and if you use a Squigglefly image (or sentiment), you are eligible to win!

Hope you are all having a wonderful Sept. I can't say it feels like fall is anywhere nearby yet. But, at least I can be showing some Halloween cards and eating pumpkin bagels.

Pumpkin Witch
Hi everyone and Happy Friday! here's a brand new stamp from our brand new Sweet Pea artist Regan Kubecek. This image is called Pumpkin Witch. Yum. I am a huge Halloween fan and I just love pumpkin. I was delighted last week to walk in to my favorite bagel shop and see...pumpkin flavored bagels, pumpkin cream cheese, pumpkin muffins, pumpkin cookies, even pumpkin latte. WOW. What a treat. I will say I totally gave in and had FOUR of the goodies on their menu right then. Made me come home and whip out this image and get to coloring up some great pumpkins!
I am using some wonderful paper from Pink Paislee, don't you love the skulls on it? It has some amazing Halloween design to it, it's from the Toil and Trouble line. Here's a closeup of the new stamp, available in both rubber stamp and digital format.

Where's my mummy?
Hey everyone, here's a fun stamp from one of my favorite artist's Queen Kat artist Sandra Caldwell. This bear is just TOO cute to spook, he's called Bearly My Mummy. How adorable. I am not sure if he was a dad who let his kids dress him up for Halloween or a man who just ran out of wrap before he was done with his costume. At any rate, he's adorable. Be sure and check out her newest stamps at the Queen Kat store.

It's Batty Tilda
I'm Batty for You! That's what Tilda has to day today. Isn't she adorable? Here's a fun card using a Magnolia stamp. Now that I am starting to show some Halloween cards, I had to pull out this fun image of Tilda dressing up like a bat. I am sure as many of you may have heard before, Austin is home to one of the largest bat colonies in the world. It's truly a site that is unbelievable when you are standing on a bridge and watching a million (yes, million) bats fly out at night. It almost looks like smoke from a distance but when close enough you realize what those tiny creatures are.
If interested, look up Mexican Freetail bats in Austin TX and I am sure there will be a ton of on line photos and videos posted. A really great thing about them is they primarily eat mosquitos...LOTS of them. Yeah, bats!!

Squigglefly Challenge
Happy Monday everyone!! I am sure you have guessed, today is the Squigglefly Challenge. This week the challenge is Flowers. Any kind to be exact, either in your image or the embellishment. Here I am using both. This is a brand new image from Squigglefly artist Pamela Lehto called Pam's Daisy Bouquet Cup. How delightful. I added a sweet vellum sentiment to go with it. Then I added some of the latest wood die cuts in floral shapes.
Drop by the Squigglefly Challenge blog and see the samples made by the design team and then create your own card to join in the fun this week. You can use a freebie from Squigglefly and join in. The winner will get a prize from Squigglefly.
Project materials: Cardstock (Bazzill, Neenah); Image (Squigglefly); Sentiment (Vellum); Flowers (); Die Cut (Lifestyles); adhesives (Pop dots, Glue All, Glue dots, Ribbon Glue); Ribbon (Michaels); Color (Copic Markers);

Just picking some flowers....
As Halloween gets closer, I am going to be posting more images of these cuties, I just love Simply Betty stamps, here's a great image from her, I must confess though that I don't really necessarily consider this a Halloween image, but I know a lot of other people would. So, seems like a good time to share this fun card. I got a bunch of fun images from their store recently so I can't wait to show you all of them.
Do you love Halloween? I was wearing this tshirt the other day, it's got candy corn on it...on one side the candy corn is zombies (i.e they are blue candy corns instead of the typical white/orange/yellow) and going after the normal candy corns to eat them....ha. What kind of crazy person thinks up that? LOL, I don't know but I wear the shirt.
Project Materials: Cardstock (Neenah, DCWV, unknown); Image (Simply Betty); Saying (Colorbok); Bling (Michaels); DieCut (Nestabilties); Color (Copic Markers); Adhesives (Pop dots, Glue all, Glue dots); Ink (Colorbox Chalk, Memento);
