Here's an adorable bunny stamp from Cat's Pajamas.  You know I love the space theme stamps. Isn't he a cutie?  There is a sentiment, but the scan on this card is kind of dark so you really can't see it. It says "You are a star."

Hope you have a wonderful Sept.  Enjoy Labor Day if you are in the US and getting the day off.

Praying Tilda

Here's a wonderful Magnolia stamp of little praying Tilda.  I colored her up using Copic markers and added a sweet sentiment from Whipper Snapper.  "God's Answers are Wiser than our Prayers?"  How true is that?  All the gorgeous papers here are from Paper Temptress.  Don't you love the layers?

The base of this card is gorgeous white cardstock Neenah Solar White, this is also the cardstock that the image was stamped on.  I die cut the image out using Spellbinders Nestabilities.   I mounted the image onto beautiful mica cardstock Punch.  I also used the sliver of punch on the edge of the card.  The lovely lace looking paper is from Hambly Studios.  They have gorgeous papers and overlays.  This paper is a small piece of a Hambly Screen Print called Old Lace.  Isn't it stunning?  Imagine how many cards you could make with this one sheet. Have a great day everyone!!

  Hugs and prayers. Holley

A little Voodoo

Here's a simple and sweet Stamping Chef card today, she's sitting with her voodoo doll and I added a Kraftin' Kimmie sentiment "I'll put a spell on you!"  As you can see with all the hearts on the card, I am putting out a love spell....

Though perhaps with that spike in the head, hmmmm....well as the person who had brain surgery, perhaps I am putting out a spell to get rid of all those horrible headaches.  Though I must say, since surgery almost all of my headaches went away.  Amazing!!  I am going to put this card in the TSC Challenge this week.

Project materials:  Cardstock (Bazzill, Neenah); Flocked Cardstock (Heidi Grace); Die Cuts (Spellbinders); Hearts (Recollections); Ink (Colorbox Chalk, Memento); Color (Copic markers); Bling (Studio G); Adhesives (Pop dots, Glue all, Glue dots);

Leaf Cards, Part 4

Here's some more of the beautiful pressed leaves that I was given by a lady at my church.  I have been making card to share with you. Eventually I will take all these cards to the church bazaar and we will sell them for this year's charity.  Last year we raised enough to build a well through the Water to Thrive organization.  They are right here in Austin TX and build wells in foreign countries that cost only $5000 each.  That well is estimated take care of 500 people for 20 years.  It's a wonderful organization that works on a very low overhead budget.

Have a great week everyone!! More prayers please for Baby Aidenn who had a scary event this week and stopped breathing.  Smart CPR by mommy saved his life.  He was a premie who had just been released home from the hospital.

Cheers, Holley

Be sure and check out this artist stamps in the Sweet Pea store.  If you are getting ready for the holiday, Sweet Pea has a bunch of Halloween/Fall theme stamps.  I hope to be making lots of them as it's definitely my favorite topic.

Leaf Cards, Part 3

Here's some more of the lovely cards that I made using some pressed leaves that were given to me by a fellow church member.  She's saved up many of them in books throughout her life and she brought some by my house recently, so I have been making lots of cards using them.

I try to keep the cards very plain and simple so that the beauty of nature alone stands out.  I walk outside everyday still, though in summer I am often limited to at best 3 hours during the day, it's usually well over 100 when I stop.  But I walk under huge beautiful trees and I am just amazed when I think about how old they are, how they grew from the tinest of seeds, how they provide air for us to breathe, shade for us to walk under, fruit/nuts for us to eat (here in TX I am seeing mostly pecans/peaches) in my area.  Trees really are a miracle when you think about it.

Pumpkin Sprite

Sharing this Pumpkin Sprite image from artist Mitzi Sato-Wiuff.  You all KNOW I just love Halloween and this stamp is no exception. It's just cute as can be. I totally loved coloring this little guy up and making a fun Halloween card with him.  I used some felt ribbon with ruffles, some sparkly candy buttons, a trio of Jackolaterns and a shimmery flower with a "scary" brad in the middle.  What more could you want for Halloween?
Well, candy of course. So I had to add a delightful chipboard tag to remind everyone that I want some candy!  Here's this adorable image from Mitzi Sato-Wiuff.  She has the cutest Sprites and fairy stamps at the store.

Too cute huh?

Project Materials:  cardstock (Bazzill, AC, Neenah, unknown); Image (Sweet Pea Stamps); Ink (Colorbox Chalk, Memento); Die Cuts (Spellbinders Nestabilities); Brads (ATB, OTC); Buttons (Grandma's Button Bag); Ribbon (Hobby Lobby); Flowers (Recollections); Tag (We R Memory Keepers); Color (Copic markers); Adhesives (Pop dots, Glue dots, Ribbon Glue, Glue all);

I've got the cure!

Sharing this hot as ever Stamping Chef image!  Don't you love her.  Must say when I was in the hospital getting my brain done, I don't recall any of the nurses being quite this sexy.  I think the prettiest nurse that I recall actually dropped a very heavy bag full of wiring that was attached to plates on my head on me (my head!!!)  OH, if I could have punched her...seriously.   I know my husband was giving me that deer in the headlights look when it happened.  Eeek!

I am so loving these stamps, I am entering this in to their weekly challenge at TSC Challenge Blog. WOW, I just found out I was last week's Pick of the week!!  Awesome!!  Drop by their challenge, you can play with anyimage, but why wouldn't you pick their images?

Cheers, Holley

Squigglefly Challenge

Here's an awesome Owl card that I am using for this week's Squigglefly Challenge. I am using beautiful shimmery papers from Paper Temptress, a single group of Copic markers (E30-E39), and a gorgeous Squigglefly stamp from new artist Tam Hess.  This image is called Artsy Owl.  The Challenge this week is called Isn't that Charming?  You need to add a charm to your card.

Hope you will drop by the Squigglefly Challenge blog and join in the fun this week.  See what all the Holley Hobbyists created for the challenge and then share with us your own creation.

All the beautiful papers on this card are specialty paper from Paper Temptress.  The base of the card is mica called Copper.  I layered a wonderful complimentary mica color called Amber.  Then a dark cardstock to give an eye catching offset to the metallic colors, a tiny layer of Eclipse Black.  The image is printed on Neenah Solar White.

She wore an....

 She wore an "Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Yellow Polka dot Bikini"  You know I thought of that song as soon as I saw the little dots on this cutie's swimsuit.  Am I revealing my age here?  I am totally in love with this cute girl from The East Wind.  I added a simple yellow sentiment to this card "Your Life is a Story, Make it Good."  Having just been at the beach last week, I will say I had no little yellow bikinis, but it was nice to be there.

Here's a great close up of this stamp. Be sure and check out this artists amazing collection of images.  Most of my favorites at her store at the Lucy Loo images.  I am submitting this card for the East Wind Challenge.
Have a very happy Sunday and off we go to another super hot week of the summer here in Texas.  I suppose for my sister, she will be returning to an even hotter area in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Leaf Cards part two

Here's a couple more of the cards that I made out of some gorgeous pressed leaves that a lady from church gave me.  These cards are 5"x7".  I did very simple cards to show the beauty of the natural leaves themselves.

These cards here plus the two that I showed last week are the ones that I gave to her in return for giving me part of her lovely collection of leaves.  I have many more to share, much of the beautiful pressed items in the books she gave were also flowers that I framed in beautiful spellbinders die cuts.

Meet Athena

 Here's a great image from Sweet Pea artist Charmaine Flannery named Athena.  I just love this steampunk girl and the mechanical owl sitting on her knee.  I found these metallic owl stickers from Sticko that just seemed to match perfectly. I used a sentiment from Sweet Pea "Owl always love you" to go with the card.  Isn't she fabulous?

Here's a close up of the stamp, it's currently available in rubber and digital format

Be sure and click the link so you can see the artist's original coloring. I love to see how different an image can look based on the color. I am still using a hint of violet, but her primary color is violet, including the hair, so beautiful!

Have a great weekend everyone. Hope you have a crafty time.

Cheers, Holley

Rocket Girl

Rocket Girl, isn't she hot?  I added a fun saying from Unity Stamps, "Love you to the Moon & back"
This stamp comes from The Stamping Chef, she's called Rockabilly Boom.  I added a sparkly moon in the center of the pink flower  I suppose I should have pointed her flying upwards towards the moon, huh?  Well, perhaps she is on her trip back.

I am going to enter this fun card in this week's Stamping Chef Challenge. It's one of the only Challenges that I do every week (aside from any companies that I work for).  I just love their stamps, so I really enjoy using their images.  Have a great day!

Squigglefly Challenge

Here's a fun card for this week's Squigglefly Challenge. The topic this week is to create a baby theme card.  I recently got a bunch of Pirate theme stamps from artist James Horvath.  There's three different assortments of fun images.  Totally made me want to make something funny in baby theme.  My husband always swears to me that pirates are actually funny.   Usually his pirate impressions just make me groan.

So I created this fun card and added this funny saying inside, because, only a pirate would give that bowl of food for a young'un.  "Arrgg: only the best organic pirate food for newborn matey!"

Hope this pirate themed baby card gave you a laugh.  These pirate images would make a ton of fun male themed cards, that's for sure.  Drop by the Squigglefly Challenge and join in the fun this week.

Project materials:  Cardstock (Bazzill, Bazzill Bling, Neenah); Images (Squigglefly); Buttons (Jesse James, ); Color (Copic Markers); Adhesives (Pop dots, Glue all); Ink (Colorbox Chalk);

Hello!

Here's a cute little girl today to say Hello, she's holding her doggie to say "WOOF." So cute. This image comes from Scrapbook Stamp Society artist Sherri Baldy. I just love the cute combo of this little girl and her dog (IMG 176). The challenge going on at the SSS Challenge blog this week is to include some Metal on your card. I have used some silver brads, a metallic Hello, some metal embellished dog collar and some gorgeous metallic laced woven ribbon from Turkiye.

Hope you will drop by the SSS Challenge blog and see what all the other design team member's created and then join in the fun with us to share your cards that have a gleam of metal!  You could win a wonderful prize from Sherri!

You Make My Heart Sing

Here's a CAS card that I did for the hubby.  Making a quick and short trip to see my sister while she is stateside for a bit.  She's been teaching English in Abu Dhabi and will be returning there soon.  Will miss the hubby on this trip but I will only be away for days.  Thought I should leave him a little note.

Hope you all are having a great August. I know summer must be winding down, we are well in the hundreds here now.  As hot as it is, it's at least 10-20 degrees hotter in Abu Dhabi.  I was teasing my sister earlier telling her, "Who on earth ever thought you would be coming to SOUTH Texas to find a cooler place to be in the heat of summer?!?"

Have a great week

Sassy Angel

So I am sure as you have all noticed lately my favorite colors seem to be pink and red.  Seems odd to put them together, but I did for this card.  I think they can actually mesh on a card...sometimes.  This fun image comes from Bugaboo.  She's called Sassy Angel.

There's a digital image contest over on Digitally "Sweet" Challenges that is being Sponsored by Bugaboo, so I am submitting this card, done in my favorite colors with a fun digi stamp from the sponsor.

Project Materials:  Cardstock (K&Co, Neenah, AC Metallic, Bazzil); Image (Bugaboo); Flowers (Prima, Michaels); Die Cuts (Spellbinders Nestabilities); Sentiment (Adorn it!); Bling (Recollections, Michaels, Grandma's Button Bag); Adhesives (Pop dots, Glue all, Glue dots);

It is the source of all true art and science. Albert Einstein."

Here's a close up of this stunning image:
Be sure and check out the other images from this artist at the Sweet Pea store.  I have several other images from this artist that I really like including Sad Valentine and Minerva.
