King for a day!!

Here's an awesome image from artist Sandra Caldwell.  Today is the last day of blog candy this month and also a day in which Sandra will be giving away a wonderful freebie on her blog Babycakes Doodle This and That.  It's been such a fun month. I am so glad that all of you have celebrated with me this year.  I feel so lucky to be so blessed.

This amazing card is done with some stunning papers from Paper Temptress including shimmery Mica cardstock called Flame.  The image was printed out on Heavenly White, which runs through my printer beautifully and works well with Copic markers.  The wonderful borders are Hambly overlays.  They come from some 12x12" sheets that I just trim off the parts that I like for each card I want!  Isn't that a great idea?  The 12x12 sheets I get last a long time and I get to do lots of wonderful cards with each one.  This card is using Brown Grandma's Wallpaper.  It's just stunning on this card!  Be sure and look at this card closely, as when you see the sheet in the store, it's hard to believe it's the same paper.  The detail shown here is wonderful.

3 years and counting!!

So here it is, a stamp of me!!  WOW.  Celebrating three years post brain surgery.  This wonderful image was drawn by artist Sandra Caldwell.  How special is that?  I was so thrilled.  How many people want to say they have a stamp of their very own, not to mention one made by one of their very favorite stamp artists.  So touching!  I made this awesome card to celebrate 3 years and this is the very card that I took to the doctor (couple weeks ago) when I mentioned going there and giving him and his staff a gift.

Squigglefly Challenge

Well Monday is here, so it's time for the Squigglefly Challenge!! Woo Hoo. This week the challenge is being done by my team, the Holley Hobbyists, and it's to "Get in Shape!"  The challenge is to pick any card shape other than a standard A2 size.  So, for me, I chose to make this super tall sized card that will fit into a legal size envelope.  It's a giant sized card and went perfect with this slender stamp from artist Fawn Palmer called "I'll Blow you a Kiss."

It's hard to tell looking at this photo, but I punched out the edge (almost completely) and there is row of purple hearts that show, it's held onto the card still with 2 connecting pink hearts.  I added a simple sentiment I {heart}U.  Isn't she beautiful?  Drop by the Squigglefly Challenge Blog and see what shaped cards the Holley Hobbyists created.

Stampin' Up Henry!

So as you all may know this celebration is about reaching three years of success post brain surgery.  So happy to be hitting that mark.  The further I go, the better off I am.  I made this wonderful card using a set from Stampin' Up.  This set is called Henry Says.   I am using three different stamps from the set plus the fun paper in the background is from Stampin' Up as well as the sweet shop brads (just .99 cents on sale!!) as well as the gorgeous pink pleated ribbon  (just $1.39 also on clearance).  If you added up the stamp set the paper set, brads and ribbon you are practically at the point of getting a free Sale-a-bration set  too!!

I bought these goodies from a friend, Check out her Stampin' Up page and tell me a product you like on there when you leave your comment.  They have more stamps, die cutters and inks that I can choose from!!

Wool you be mine?

Here's a cute image that I used to make a card for this week's Squigglefly Challenge.  The challenge was to use a sentiment on your card.  Squigglefly has LOTS of images that come with sentiments as well as selling lots of sentiments that are just .99!!  This adorable image is called A Wooly Ride from artist Diane Carubia.  The saying comes from another image, a cute sheep called Sherman (click here).

You Rock my World

Here's an awesome Valentine that I made for my hubby.  I am showing it now because I didn't want him to see it early.  I think it would be perfect anytime of year though, don't we always want to make an I Love You card for that someone special?  This beautiful stamp is from Rebecca Sinz and is called Steampunk Assassin (plate #234).

Be sure and check out Rebecca's coloring on the image so you can see how differently my image looks,  I think it is just perfect for this card.  I love that gorgeous fan she is holding.

Shamrock Sammie

Here's one of the newest stamps at Queen Kat.  It's just in time for St Patrick's day.  Designed by artist Sandra Caldwell, this image is called Shamrock Sammie.  Doesn't he look great with gold paper and gold embellishments?  I used warm grey and dark green copic markers to color him.

Thanks a Million

Here's a cute stamp from Magnolia.  Tilda holding a cute puppy. I added a simple Cosmo Cricket sentiment "Thanks a Million."  I also used some of the fun lace that I got from Istanbul, Turkiye.  Lots of people to thank this month, esp the doctors who have done all the work we are celebrating for, and my hubby who helped my pull through those times and brought me to where I am today.  All the wonderful companies who sent yummy prizes:  Sweet Pea Stamps, Paper Temptress, Scrapbook Stamp Society, Sandra Caldwell (Babycakes Doodle me this and that), Squigglefly, and Queen Kat!!

Yeah Baby!

Here's a fun stamp that I got from Simply Betty. I just love their fun and sometime quirky theme stamps.  They have a lot of sexy and cute plus funny and even Halloween theme fun.  I love the cute sayings they add.  The background on this card is one of the new 6x6" embossing plates from Crafter's Companion.

Irish Chic

Here's an awesome image from Sweet Pea artist Joanne Schempp called Irish Chic, I have made this card for variations week during which all the design team is showing different cards using the same stamp.  I just love this girl!  I also added a perfect sentiment from the Simply Verticals Holiday Plate (plate #13).

Hoppity Who?

Here's a Easter bunny? Easter who? or should I say Easter hoot?  Well, certainly Easter cute, that's for sure. It's an Easter owl, who wants to be your Easter bunny.  I had this adorable image from Queen Kat artist Sandra Caldwell called Hoppity Who.  I used some wonderful papers from Paper Temptress to create this fun card as Easter is just around the corner.

This gorgeous image is stamped on Neenah Solar White paper and die cut using Nestabilities.  The wonderful pink is from Pop Tons called RazzleBerry.  I then added two totally different types of papers both in type and textures to give an opposing look and feel to the card.  The paper on the right hand side is a wonderful glossy transparency from Hambly Overlays.  I took a small piece of a large 12x12 in Orange Bohemian.  I am guessing when you click to see the whole sheet that seeing this small portion is very surprising.  I just love this paper and I dissect it to use each portion in the ways that I want.  The paper used on the left hand side is the total opposite, it's a very textured and absorbent type of paper.  As such, I used quite a bit of colorbox chalk ink on it to add some beautiful pinkish tone.  This paper is called Ruche and is Yellow Crepe.  To finish off the card I added some adorable flat matte style buttons.

So, the little owl above wants to ask whoooo? is going to be your valentine today?

Sexy Little Devil

Here's a Valetine card for the hubby.  This cute stamp is designed by Scrapbook Stamp Society artist Heather Valentine.  What a sexy little devil!  I added a fun Cosmo Cricket Saying to the front of the card, which is some great printed paper with metallic hearts on the front of it.

Here's a perfect card for the week of Valentine's day.  I just love Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps.  Here's one that goes great for this week.  I hope you have lots of people that you can make the I love you sign to this week.

How about some blog candy today?  I am off to take some wonderful cards and something my hubby made to the doctor.  Just dropping it at his office, won't be seeing him.  Wed the 13th is actually the true anniversary of my last day for seizures.  I didn't have any post surgery (the 2nd brain surgery that I had).

Squigglefly Challenge

Good morning everyone!  Happy Monday.  As you know, Mondays mean it is time for a Squigglefly Challenge.   This week the challenge is to use pink and black.  I made a whimsical card using one of the images in and adorable Elephant set by Gayle Search.  This set has a whole bunch of adorable elephants.  Actually, I am using two of her images, but they seemed to go perfectly together.

Forget Love....

Here's a card I thought about for Valentine's...but then, I am already in love, I wouldn't give that up, even for chocolate.  (Pretty close though--just kidding!!)  I just love a set of stamps that Kraftin' Kimmie came out with about chocolates.  This one is just too cute, and yeah, I suppose there may be days when I would just love to fall INTO some chocolate and if my hubby could give me that, I know he would! 

Here's a fun question today, what is your favorite treat?  In reality, I do love chocolate, but I know far beyond chocolate, my favorite is probably gum balls.  I consume way more of those than chocolate.  How about you?

Here's a wonderful Queen Kat stamp designed by artist Sandra Caldwell named Shamrock Sammi.  Isn't he cute?  I used some wonderful textured paper and punched out the bottom edge then added some flocked brads.  He's just perfect for all those St Patty's Day cards you want to make

Here's an adorable little girl from Scrapbook Stamp Society artist Sherri Baldy called Peculiar Penelope.  I just adore her!  I colored up and picked cardstock that matched.  If only we could all have such a hair color.  Sherri Baldy Stamps on Facebook often has a "name that stamp" contest--so if you have facebook check out her page and play along. Squigglefly Challenge time

Happy Monday everyone!  So one thing I do each week is the challenge on Squigglefly.  I am captian of the Holley Hobbyists, but this week, the challenge is being run by Rhonda's Rowdy Rascals.  I am playing along though as the challenge is to follow a recipe--use a circle, a flower, and a button.  Seemed pretty straight forward!  I had this fun guy called Bandit's Mischeavious Smile from Cheryl Alger. I also just got my hands on some 6x6" embossing folders from Crafter's Companion!

Lili of the Valley

Here's a cute stamp from Lili of the Valley.  What an adorable girl holding her cat. I just love her. I colored her up in a combo of orange and purple. It's a Bazzill Bling purple, so shimmery.  Perfect for celebration time.  Isn't she adorable?

Off to church today with lots of prayers, please keep my dear neighbor Dene who is in ICU at the local hospital .  My dear friend Apriell D who is battling cancer.  My cousin who has family issues.  Need a prayer?  Just tell me, I very much believe in the power of prayer.

FOR Today's COMMENTS--- game--Tell me your favorite paper to use for cards?  do you use paper or do you buy premade cards?   I guess personally I often just use paper, I am sure for those of you who look at my "project materials" list, you notice that my most common paper for card bases is Bazzill.

Be Uniquely You!!

Here's a great image from Sweet Pea artist Teresa Sherman (plate #222) called "I'm not Goth."  So very perfect for those teens in your life.  I just love this image.  I dressed her up in hot pinks and black.  I used a card that is folded in half and will stand up, with the image sticking well above the card (fits perfectly into a 5.5" square envelope).

That gorgeous décor on the bottom is actually amazing ribbon.  It's been hand glittered and the beads and sequins are sewn onto it.  It's some that I bought while in Istanbul, Turkiye.  I don't know what the ribbon is typically intended for, but I just see fabulous cards I can make with it!  I will say at all the shops I went to in the ribbon district there, I did take a handful of cards decorated with ribbon and lace to show the shop owners so they would see what I did with type of items they sell.
The sentiment comes from Cosmo Cricket and the butterfly from Petaloo.

Can you believe it's Feb 1st?
