Here's a sweet and sexy girl from Simply Betty Stamps today, with a fun and sassy saying from Cosmo Crickett. I think the "You made me love you." Sums up the perfect sentiment to go with this image. I am using wonderful papers from Paper Temptress to create this card
The base of the card is a gorgeous Mica cardstock called Ruby. The image is printed out on Neenah Solar White, which runs through the printer perfectly for those digi images. Then I die cut the image with spellbinders and colored it with copic markers. The layer behind the image comes from Hambly Studios. It's a beautiful clear overlay with gold. It's called Gold Hanging Heliconias. There's also a wonderful set of packages that have assortments of these papers in 6x6" formats which are perfect for cardmaking projects (click here).

Love of my life
Made this sweet card for the love of my life. He knows who he is. After 17 years, he ought to. I still get excited everyday when he gets home from work and I still need him to come and lay down next to me for a couple minutes so I can fall asleep at night. This sexy (or as the artist says smexy) image is from Stamping Chef. Love her beautiful images.
Going to enter this card in the Stampin Chef challenge this week. Hope they like my card because I love their images! Hope everyone is having a wonderful end to their summer. I am already seeing the back to school clothes and supplies in all the local stores.

Natural Leaves
I had a lady at church give me some books, inside she had put different leaves over the years. She knew that I made cards and gave me quite a beautiful selection of them from her time collecting. Here's a couple of the cards that I made and returned to her in thanks. These cards are A7 sized (5x7");
I also have a bunch that are various flowers, much smaller in size that these leaves. I will show them periodically as I finish the cards off. Much of them will get donated to the church's bazaar which raises money each year in November.

Owl Moon
Here's a great image from Sweet Pea artist Lisa Victoria called Owl Moon. This image is currently available in digi format at the Sweet Pea store. I just love the big eyes on the owl as it stares up at the moon. I used a Copic YG markers to color the Moon to give it a greenish glow. The paper is a Bazzill Swiss on which I dusted white ink to give the look of fog/clouds.
That adorable tree is a brand new die cut from Spellbinders and I added the cutest owl buttons to it. The sentiments show come from Sweet Pea stamps. I hope you are loving all the beautiful Lisa Victoria Projects this week. Drop by the store and check out all her beautiful stamps, she has some wonderful Dragons. ALSO--There's some great Coupon Codes that will run through the 26th, for Rubber stamps get 20% off cherrystamp; for digi stamps get 25% off with cherrydigi
Project Materials: cardstock (Bazzill Swiss, Neenah, DCWV, Hobby Lobby); Image (Sweet Pea Stamps); Buttons (Jesse James); Ink (Colorbox Chalk, Memento); Die Cuts (Spellbinders Nestabilities; Spellbinders Tree);

i love you
Here's an awesome image from Stamping Chef. They are having a challenge this week over on their blog, I had to join in! I love this girl and as you can see had to deck her out in white and pink, hair included. I like her hand signal, very similar to the I love you in sign language. Here in Austin, we have a place called Donut Taco Palace, they actually make donuts in the shape of a hand "I love you" as well as the hand sign for UT.
Drop by the TSC Challenge Blog and check out all the fun. Hmmmm, feeling hungry all the sudden...how about a taco that is actually made from a donut (instead of a tortilla)? You know you want one!

Never be afraid
Sharing this fun image from Simply Betty Stamps. I also added some gorgeous lace from Istanbul and some beautiful bling. The sentiment, so very true to me as I have a huge scar all the way from the center of my head around the back to my left ear from the brain surgery. "Never be afraid of a scar. It simply means you were stronger than whatever tried to hurt you."
I can recall my doctor asking me a month or two after surgery how I was feeling about the scar, perhaps it was even later. I will say, I didn't even see it for about 4 weeks. You are never looking at a mirror in the hospital and your head is wrapped all the time. Was quite a surprise as they had shaved my head like a reverse Mohawk. About all I could do is roll my eyes and think of how crazy I must have looked when I was leaving the hospital. Took about a year for my hair to really grow back, at least enough to really cover up the scar completely. SMALL price to pay for the amazing seizure free life that I have now. I told that doctor, that scar is not important.

Yep, it's time for some Christmas cards in the summer. I supposed I did one last week too. here's a real cutie though as this image is from Sherri Baldy and she's baking cookies. You can use a winter/Christmas theme or choose another stamp, as I did here and turn it into a Christmas card on your own. We'd love to see what you make and the winner will get awesome prize from artist Sherri Baldy.

Sharing this quick and cute card using a sweet image of Elisabeth Bell's from Sweet Pea stamps. They have over 50 images of her that will be retired at the end of the month. If you want any, you better run to the store and order them now! I thought this cutie was definitely one I wanted, can you imagine this tiny fairy floating on a bubble of air?

There's quite a few of them marked down too, some as low as $2!! and that's for a 3"x4" stamp! wow, those stamps are in the SALE section here.

Be the Heroine
Here's a great image from The Stamping Chef. Had to laugh when I saw her shirt "Stop looking at my shirt!" Isn't weird when you are chatting with someone and they aren't looking at you face to face? I guess there has been a time when I may have been able to wear such a tiny shirt. Yeah, those times are long gone, lol!
I made this card for this week's Stamping Chef challenge. Love seeing all the different Stamping Chef cards that get made every week. Drop by their Challenge Blog and check them out.

You know I like Skulls, so this one was first on my list. Lucy Loo Sexy Girl with her own Style, she's hot! I had this fun sentiment from Cosmic Crickett in pink to match the card, "why try to be normal?"
Do you like the pink paisley stock that I trimmed in the background? I am going to link this to the East Wind challenge the game is to show them what's hot. For me, the things that are hot lately are East Wind images, Skulls, and pinks. You really should check out the awesome images.

Scrapbook Place Challenge
Here's a card I am making for a brand new Challenge that is happening at Scrapbook Place Challenge Blog. The contest is to create a Christmas theme card in very NON Christmas colors. So how about pink and blue? can you get any less Christmas theme than that? The image I am using here is from Squigglefly and is currently retired, but was created from artist Nina Brackett. The challenge over at Squigglefly this week is called Over the edge, so I added this fun matching ribbon to the design and let it flow off the cardstock.
I hope you will join in our challenge at Scrapbook Place, Have some fun with us and make a Christmas card in some non-traditional colors.
Cheers, Holley

Quick and Cute Koala
Here's a quick and cute card that I made using a Koala bear stamp from Whipper Snapper. So adorable. I can remember a few years of the San Antonio Zoo having a koala bear while I lived there. It's a very specific environment that these bear live in, which is of course, not all like San Antonio TX. They had to keep the poor guy in a well sealed temperature controlled room. Guess when I was a kid it was so fascinating to see all of these wonderful animals in person, I didn't think about how hard it must be to remove all these animals from their natural habitats.
I do love this beautiful creatures, but I don't think they are nearly as friendly as they are cute and cuddly looking. It's one of those admire from afar things :)
Have a great Sunday everyone.

Sad Valentine
Here's a stunning image from Sweet Pea artist Enys Guerrero called A Sad Valentine. I think this stamp is great for any particular occasion though. I colored her up in blues and pinks together and a background of warm grey. I like the steampunk embellishment on the image itself, so I went with that and added a bunch of steampunk die cuts to the final card.
Don't you just love the forlorn look on her face? I just love that she looks so mature at one level, but then you see that unicorn coddled up next to her still.
Be sure and check out the other images from artist Enys Guerrero. There's another image called Magical Steam Girl....oooo, I just LOVE that image too. You will be seeing a card very soon with that girl.

Wide Eyed Susie
Here's an adorable stamp called Wide Eyed Susie. This cutie comes from artist Sandra Caldwell and is sold at Squigglefly. I am using this card for the Squigglefly Challenge this week. The challenge is to use scraps on your card. Like most cardmakers, I have a lot of paper scraps. I keep an entire box next to my crafting area, one of those photo storage size boxes and it's FULL of paper. Every once in a while I clean it out (and by clean it out I mean remove the tinest papers that I know won't get used). So I pulled out some papers that matched the colors I used today to make this card. I am also using a brand new Squigglefly stamp BFF from artist Angela Charles. Doesn't this cutie look like she could be your BFF?
Drop by the Squigglefly Challenge this week and join in the fun! Pull out your scraps and play with us.

Life is a story
Here's an awesome image that was given by East Wind this month. I am totally loving this artist's stamps! I recently bought several, so you will be seeing more and more cards using these images, esp of Lucy Loo. They are having a challenge to include a ribbon, so I added one on this card today. I cut the base of it and attached it to the card with ribbon glue to make it look like washi tape. This gorgeous stamp is called Belle of the Ball. All of the cardstock on this card is from Paper Temptress.
I am using an A6 sized card here with Flame Mica as a shimmery base of the card. The image is printed on Neenah solar white and then colored with copic markers. I then layered it on Flame with a die cut frame made from a wonderful yellow that has a stunning sparkle in it called Mangue. The bottom border is three layers of papers, red incandescent (rosso), black ruche, and flame mica that has been embossed.
I am entering this card for the East Wind Challenge, to include some ribbon. I also added a sentiment from Cosmo Crickett "Your Life is a story, make it good."

Panda Cute
Here's the cutest little stamp and sentiment from Untiy Stamps. This card was a quick and cute make for that moment when you need a simple card to send out to a friend. I just love Unity's sweet images and their versatile sayings. Panda's are definitely one of my favorites. Last time we were in DC at the national Zoo, we got to see the newborn panda right after it was born. So adorable.
Hope you had a wonderful 4th of July and you are having a great weekend. It's already July and I can't believe how super hot it is. Makes it so hard to go out walking when it's already 90 degrees by 10am. UGH.
Cheers, Holley

Anniversary Card
Here's a really stunning image from Sweet Pea artist Helena Reis called Mending a Broken Heart. It's currently available in Digi Format. I just love this gorgeous stamp. I created this love theme card for my hubby for our anniversary this year. Even though the stamp is about broken hearts, I think it's a very versatile image and can be used for different occasions. Sometimes when I am just struck with love and hugging something so very hard, I can feel a little tear in my eye, just like the woman here. It's like thinking about how really lucky you are. That's so why I chose this stamp for my anniversary card!!
Here's a closeup of the image I used, Helena Reis has so many pretty lady stamps
She also has some adorable little girl stamps and lovely fairies. Be sure and check out her collection at the Sweet Pea stamp store. I hope this card gave you some great ideas for using this stamp in several different ways!
Cheers, Holley

Polar Bear Nap
Here's the cutest Whipper Snapper bear with a funny saying from Art Impressions. I just laughed when I heard this quip, as people like me (aka, getting old) hear the term "there's an app for that" all the time and we are like, "what? what's that?" When I saw this stamp, I laughed and thought, oh, now if there was a NAP for that, now that is WAY better than an app. HA. The beautiful textured papers on this card are all from Paper Temptress. YUM.
The base of the case is using thick textured black cardstock. You can tell that because I dusted the edges with white ink (esp on the corners). This cardstock is black text felt grandee. I then added one of the Hambly Overlays. This one is called White Hanging Heliconias. The next textured paper is ruche called grey crepe. The image and sentiment were both stamped onto Heavenly White.
Wonderful Sale-- 30% off everything at Paper Temptress for the 4th of July--sale runs through July 7th!!
Project materials: Cardstock (Paper Temptress); Stamps (Whipper Snapper, Art Impressions); Ink (Memento, Colorbox Chalk); Bling (Michaels); Die Cuts (Spellbinders Nestabilties); Border Punch (Martha Stewart); Adhesives (pop dots, glue all, glue dots); Color (copic markers);

Find your courage!
Here's a stunning image from Stamping Chef. I am sure all of us know someone in our lives who has gone through Breast cancer or a scare with Breast Cancer. I myself lost my grandmother to this. I also had a very horrible scare at only 28 leading to them removing tissue for a biopsy. It will strike over 1 in 8 women now in the USA. Protect your self and be tested regularly, esp if you have a family who has had breast cancer.
I am entering this card for the Stamping Chef (TSC) Challenge this week. I just LOVE her beautiful images, so it's one contest that I always seem to be doing. I hope everyone will Find Their Courage this week. HUGS!
