You light up my life!

Here's a cute image from artist on Carmen Gamble. I got this image when she sold her stamps on Squigglefly, but she currently sells them on Etsy.  I added some addition word sentiments to the "You light up my life" sentiment on the light bulb, "today", "forever" and "tomorrow."  I hope you love this cute card today

Now we are well into the 2nd week of school and hopefully the routine will start to get easier and easier from here on out.  As the teacher's settle into their routines, the Special Education team will then get our schedules squared away so that proper support is being given everywhere that it is needed.  

Hella Enchated

Well, now that Sept is upon us, I thought I might start to sneak in a couple of Halloween cards.  This is KINDA a Halloween card, though it's very much not a typical color Halloween theme card.  This image comes from Kenny K and is called Hella Enchanted.  I so miss Kenny K selling stamps now, but I wish him and his family the best.

Hope you like this card and I hope I have the time this year to create some more fun Halloween theme cards as you guys know how much I love Halloween!!

Summer Fun

Here's one of the cutest Sherri Baldy stamps this month.  I colored her up wearing pinks and yellows with just a hint of blue and matched her with a perfect blue colored card.  As you can see she's watching two lovebirds go up in a hot air balloon!  How sweet is that?  This darling image is Img086

Unique

Hi everyone!  have you seen the latest contest over on the Oddball Art Challenge blog?  the newest theme is called a life in Technicolor.  I colored up this awesome image from Lizzy Love then added this great ribbon that I got in Istanbul the summer before last.  I do so love paisley.

One more day of the first week of school, it sure did seem like a very LONG week.  let's home my schedule doesn't change too much. I really like the teachers and kids I am assigned with so far.

Happy Birthday Sister!

Here's a cute birthday card that I made for my sister Hallie. Today is her Birthday!!  Make a wish Sis and I hope it comes true.  I am using an adorable image called Fluffles. I totally love Fluffles stamps, I was super sad when they were discontinued.  I am also using wonderful papers from Paper Temptress on this card.

The base of the card is Mica/Metallic in Flame.  Then I layered another Mica/Metallic called Bronze.  I added a great Hambly Studio Overlay called Gold Hanging Heliconias.  You can get Hambly Studio screenprints and overlays in a wonderful pack of 6x6" sheets which are perfect card size.  I stamped fluffles out onto some Neenah solar white classic crest paper and die cut him with Spellbinders Nestabilities.  Then I added a die cut sentinment in Kraft.

Unity Owl Stamp

Here's a cute image from Unity stamps, I am in love with this owl character that they sell. I have bought several different stamp sets that he is in.  This is one of them.  I am pretty sure that this sentiment also comes from Unity stamps.

Hope everyone is doing well now.  For those who have asked, my mother is in the process of recovery, getting done with rehab and ready to go back home.  Still not 100% but we are so thankful that she pulled through.  Thanks so much to everyone for their thoughts, prayers, and positive vibes.  I really appreciate all the support everyone gave.

Lou the Waitress

Check out this adorable new stamp from artist Sandra Caldwell.  She is called Waitress Lou 1733.  Isn't she so adorable?  I just loved this stamp (and so many of the other brand new images being added to the store this week!!).  Wait until you see all the new goodies at Babycakes DND on Etsy.

This is the first week that we have had the kiddos back in the school.  WHEW, it's hard to get them back and used to the routine, but I am  hoping in another week or so, they will be used to the schedule and raring to go.

With school coming back (I guess not that long for the teachers, as they will be starting at least two weeks before the kids), I thought this cute image from Faery Ink would be perfect.  I added a fun sentiment "Try my Love Potion."  Wouldn't she be a great teacher?

Here's an awesome quirky stamp that I found at some resale house.  It was self mounted on a wood base and I just had to pick it up for a couple dollars.  She's too irresistible.  I don't know who made it, if you do or if you have any ideas or perhaps companies that make similar stamps, LMK I would love to look them up.  Here's the card I made with her

Hope you have been having a great week. Today finishes up my first week of my new job.  Normally I would just be a substitute for the district, so I would not be working this week (which is an  teacher inservice week).  Starting Monday all the kiddos will show up.

Here's another brand new stamp from Sandra Caldwell this week!  WOW! Two new images from the same artist in the same week.  How great is that?  And a skull lady to boot! You know I am in heaven.  This wonderful image is called old Lady Skeleton 1680.  Too cool. I added a Dia De Los Muertos embossing image across the bottom.

Fashion Hippo

Here's a brand new stamp from artist Sandra Caldwell called Fashion Hippo 1701.  Isn't she just a delight? I just love her hippo images. I added a fun sentiment that says "Shop like it's your day job" ha!

I also added some great Turkish lace on this card at the bottom and a beautiful rainbow colored flower to go with it.  I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Sweet Pea stamps, oh how I miss them!

Here's an adorable image from Sweet Pea stamps!  I do so miss this company so much.  They always had the most wonderful images from several great artists.  This image is no exception. I love her.  I added a sentiment "I think you are so beautiful" because she just looks like she needs a little cheer.

I hope everyone is having a great week, next week should hopefully be something special for everyone! If I am right, I will be starting up at my new job (well, I was always a substitute for the school district, but now I should be full time!)

Here's an adorable stamp from Taylored expressions.  I saw these hilarious sentiments and funny images called "Grumplings".  HA!  I just had to get one of those sets.  TOO funny.  Here's one of the stamps from the set and a matching sentiment to go with it.

Hope you enjoy this funny card today.  These stamps are so hilarious. Think I may add some to my Amazon gift wish list :)  Off I go this morning to the AISD office to get some paperwork done and get my badge for the school.  Then I am off to see the doctor AGAIN, lol.

Sweetest Mermaid

Here's an awesome new image from Lizzy Love (Oddball Arts).  The theme on the blog challenge is sky full of stars. I hope this cute card counts as the mermaids sky is the sea that surrounds her and the sea surround this lovely mermaid not only has skulls in it, it also has beautiful embossed (though hard to see the embossing on the photo) starfish!  Check out her amazing challenge at the Oddball Art Challenge blog.

I though that was a fun play on the theme of the contest this month.  I hope everyone is having a great week.

Thanks for all your well wishes yesterday!  I got the job!!  Woohoo.  So I will be starting up on MONDAY which is when the school district starts (for teachers and staff).  so  thank God for that, I have very much been working towards that goal for a while.  Thanks so much for all your kind words, prayers and well wishes!

Little Blue Button stamp

Here's a gorgeous image from Little Blue Button. Check out her store for some Awesome stamps. I love her little girls and her cute doll theme stamps.  I am also using some of the wonderful Turkish Lace that I got last summer on this card.  

I heard from the school that the job is still in progress with the district offices, but I know that the majority of the school employees will begin next week so I am hoping that paper work will be done and I will get the job in time to be starting next week!  I hope that will also ensure that I get health benefits and other such items :)  Keep your fingers crossed for me.

Laugh some every day

Here's a CAS card that I did recently as a quick and cute little project for a friend.  I needed something simple and sweet to cheer her up. I thought she would like this simple sentiment with a sweet summer flower.

Happy Friday everyone, today I am sharing this adorable image from Sandra Caldwell. She is currently on vacation, so she is not adding new digis to the shop today, but there will be wonderful surprises next week!  Stay tuned.

Beautiful Maiden

Here's a beautiful card from Mitzi-Sato-Wuiff that I am also using some gorgeous Turkish lace on.  I just love the beautiful orange on this card.  I hope you like it as well, it's definitely something  unusual. 

I am happy to report that my mother is now conscious!! She has gotten up in the hospital (after over a WEEK!!) and is talking, she's going through some level of ICU delirium, which is a problem that happens to people who are under long term care in the ICU especially if they are sedated.  But the progress is so very encouraging and just having her come back is amazing.  Thanks so much to everyone for all your positive thoughts and prayers.

Morning Time

Love this Kraftin Kimmie girl, she is just too cute. She's my reminder that I need to be turning into a morning person because I have to start getting ready to be working at the school this year!  I am thinking we will be going back starting on Aug 14th, so I best start getting back to the morning schedule, lol!  I would say break out the coffee, but I don't do coffee, so break out the Diet Dr Pepper!!

I haven't heard back from the school district yet, but I did have two calls from the principal at the school right next to my house last week. It's the one that I worked at last year so I was thrilled.  She called, did my interview on the phone right then, and then called the next day to let me know that my paperwork was going on.

So everyone please keep your fingers crossed that I hear from the HR department as it is not 100% controlled by the local principal at the school.

Paper Temptress and Graciellie Design Team Blog Hop

We are having an amazing blog hop today using some stunning stamp and digi paper set from Graciellie Designs as well as some great papers from Paper Temptress today.   I am using a wonderful stamp set called  Magnolia Dreams stamp set and the Magnolia Dreams digi paper pack. I am using two stamps from the set as well as two pieces of paper from the package. Don't they match perfectly?

From the Paper Temptress site the base of my card is made from pink ice parchment;  I have printed out my images on Neenah Solar White Classic Crest Paper.  I layer that paper on a wonderful shimmery black paper with a gold undertone called Nero. Then I used a super cute grosgrain bow in pink.
