Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween everyone!  Here's a great card I did today on some gorgeous paper in whites, as you can see it has a shimmery background that is embossed with ghosts.  Then I added some off white paper in which I die cut and embossed a graveyard scene as well as some grave stones and some skull and crossbones.  Can you just imagine the ghosts flying up out of the graves?

This gorgeous image is called Twinkle Twinkle Little Star from artist Katerina Koukiotis.

Here's a close up of the image, I think this gorgeous image could be used anytime of year!  Here in Austin we have a huge bat colony that is quite famous, so everyone loves to see bats.

You can download this gorgeous image and make a card for that Halloween treat today! or grab this stamp and use her for any other fun project you like.  If you do, share your creation with us over on the Sweet Pea Stamps Friends and Fan page at Facebook.

Zombie Girl

Here's a fun zombie girl from Kraftin' Kimmie stamps. I just love their fun Halloween images too. Just one more day now.  I am at least looking forward to seeing all the cute kids in their costumes all sweet and happy faced at the door.  A bunch of people in my neighborhood have their houses totally decked out.  I don't mean a carved pumpkin on their patio, I mean the WHOLE yard and front of their house.

I even saw today a Skull, I don't know if it's paper mache or what, but that skull stood at least five foot tall and was three and half foot wide.  Just fun when I do my daily walking to see everyone's fun Halloween décor.

Zombie Sheep

This cutie comes from OddBall Art Co, the same artist who does the Lizzy Love images that I have shown.  This fun image is called Big Eye Zombie Sheep and was just $1!!  Can you believe that?  that an awesome image.  Click the link and check out her stamps as she has a bunch of fun ones for $1 including lots of skulls, which you KNOW I love. Then look at all her Lizzy Love images which are what I typically buy.

I added some great eyeballs for this card, which I love as it matches the ribbon I have and a green skellie with a bow.  I am going to share this on the Oddball Art challenge this month.

And you what zombie food is right?  BRAINS....well I went to see my favorite doctor yesterday, Dr Aboumatar at Austin Epilepsy, the doctor who set up my brain surgeries several years ago.  I made these for him and his staff.  Who else but a zombie and a neurologist would love these?

Squigglefly Challenge

The Challenge over at the Squigglefly blog this week is to use a frame on your card.  The frame I am using here is one that I made myself using some gorgeous gold printed paper and my own spellbinders diecut. I cut out a large die and created a frame for this great image, then I had this funny saying "If cats could talk, they'd lie."   I used a fun image from artist Sandra Caldwell called Mummy Kat. This cat so reminds me of my cat getting into a roll of toilet paper in the bathroom, so I added the 2nd sentiment myself from the computer "I didn't mess up the bathroom!"  I can't tell you how many times I saw that cat leaving the room with a shred of toilet paper following her like she didn't make the huge mess.

Drop by the Squigglefly Challenge this week and use a frame on your card.  You can win a prize if you use a Squigglefly image on your card.  Did you know we have a frame in our freebie section?  there's an image called Journal Frame...TRY IT!!

Scary

I totally love something about this cute and quirky image.  She's one of the very few wooden stamps that I have bought in the recently years.  I find nowadays that I tend to go towards unmounted or cling mounted as well as digital images more and more.  But this image, I really just had to get her!

Hope you are having a great Oct!  Just a few days until Halloween now...have you gotten yourself a costume? are you planning on dressing up at all?  Me, I haven't this year...hmmmm, perhaps I should

What do you think? am I too grown up to dress up for Halloween?

Meet Sybille

Meet Sybille.  She's an awesome image created by Sweet Pea artist Helena Reis.  I am totally loving this witch/fairy. I love that she flies her broom with her cat too. I added some lovely spider web die cuts with spider charms hanging down from black bows.  I put two simple sentiments on the card to go with her.  Isn't she just perfect?  I think this witch could be used on all sorts of cards, not just Halloween.

Here's a close up of the image.

Be sure and check out all of Helena Reis' images, I just love her beautiful maidens.  She also have some adorable fairies and cute animal stamps too!

Dilly Beans

Here's a fun image from Dilly Beans using gorgeous papers from Paper Temptress. I love this fun image and colored her up to match the papers that I chose.  I think she would be fun image to use both around Halloween time and well if you are me, other times as well!!
The fun papers I am using here for this card is a background in Basis Black which has been embossed and then lightly inked with white ink.  The beautiful textured grey is ruche called Grey Crepe. The strip on the left I embossed, don't you love how well this paper embosses and yet you can still see the crepe qualities of the paper?  The image was printed out on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White.  This paper runs through my printer so easily and can then be colored with copic markers.

Project Materials:  Cardstock (Paper Temptress); Image (Dilly Beans); Embossing (Crafter's Companion); Buttons (); Ink (Colorbox Chalk); Die Cuts (Spellbinders Nestabilities); Adhesives (pop dots, glue all, glue dots); Color (Copic markers);

Forget the ghosts, Beware of me!

Here's an awesome Simply Betty Stamp for Halloween!  Don't you love this witch?  I just had to laugh when I saw this sentiment, that's me, so I added this sentiment to the card and then found some great embellishments, things you know a witch would keep around to make potions and such.  Love it!

Hope you enjoyed this card today, so close to Halloween now, then I will be off to making Fall time cards and then back to general themed cards. How about you?

Cheers, Holley

Here's the cutest little witch. This is one of the very old Magnolia stamps, I have no idea which year this one is from. I do love her though. Too sweet, I have been enjoying a lot of lime green this Halloween. I think it looks good with this shade of purple.  This cuties is definitely too cute to spook.

Hope you are having a great weekend.

I am using some gorgeous glazed paper from Bazzill as my background and die cut some fun glitter paper from DCWV to layer the image on. Then I added lots of dimensional buttons to the card to give it a 3-D effect.  All that being said, I think the star of this card is that adorable stamp from Conie.

Lizzy Love

Here's an gorgeous image from Lizzy Love! You know I have been adoring these images lately.  They are just too cute.  I think this image is totally year round, but seeing as how we are near Halloween time it's great for that too.  Can you just imagine this little girl bringing a little skull décor to someone just like she would a valentine?  How cute would that be?  Those over the knee socks? oh, too adorable!!  All the papers on this card come from Paper Temptress.

The base of the card  as well as the image is on Neenah Solar White. The card is 5.5 square, so you fold your 8.5x11 sheet in half and then trim three inches off the side to create a square card.  That gives you enough cardstock to diecut and print the image or stamp images.  The orange paper is  Orange Basis. It's been embossed with a Crafting Companion embossing folder.  I then use some beautiful scraps of Hambly Studio paper from a sheet called Mini Graphs,  I trimmed it to fit inside the embossed squares and placed it randomly to give some sense of depth in the card.

Hope you love this cute card as a Halloween card or like me, as an anything fun card for the year.  Have a great week.

Cheers, Holley

Tilda the Witch

Here's a cute Tilda card, she's on her broom and sending scares across the sky. Well, I don't know about scares, she doesn't look all that scary now, does she?  She looks pretty adorable to me.  I added a cute black cat and a big ol' bat there.  But I think what I have been told recently that scares people is all those spiders in the background.  They don't scare me on paper, but I suppose if I saw them in real life, I would be pretty freaked out.

BOO to you!

Hugs, Holley

YSBP Challenge: Halloween Wishes

Here's a great image from Ike's Art that I used. If only I had a Genie costume to dress up this year and grant some Halloween wishes.  I wonder what my hubby would ask for?  Hmmm, what would you ask for?  Is it hard to pick just three things?  none of that I would like infinite wishes thing....

There's a fun contest over at the Your Scrapbook Place blog to create a Halloween theme card in your own unusual way and share it with us.  The sponsor is Ike's Art who makes these gorgeous images, including several more that I will share later during the contest, so join in and share with us!

Did you know I got featured on the Your Scrapbook Place blog recently, it's HERE.
