Good Morning, Sharing this coffee theme card using a stamp from Limited Runs. I added a sentiment tag saying, "When life gives you LEMONS, given them back, AND TELL them you want COFFEE." Isn't that the truth? well, I will say in Turkey though, they do fresh squeeze fruit juice right in front of you and it's so delicious. I mean SO delicious. Not only is the fruit better than what we get here in the USA but fresh squeezed, c'mon?

Woo Hoo, it's the two weeks of school left!! Who knew we would finally reach this day? we are finally through what has been a crazy year. Let's all pray that next year things are almost back to what we think of as "normal" or what some of us remember as normal. I think the kids think today's life is the norm. WOW. Actually there's only 6 days with the kids and one work day left now

Here's a darling image from Lili of the valley. This little dog is my favorite among their stamp line. I had to get this cutie and the flowers (somewhat) make me think of Texas Blue Bonnets. For some reason thinking of Blue Bonnets makes me think of this year being so strange that we do not have any field trips for the kids due to covid. that's sad.

Sharing this Cat's Pajama's card with some gorgeous delicate Turkish lace. I just love the elegant lace they have in some of the stores there. I don't often buy the really delicate lace as it can be hard to add to cards, but sometimes, I just can't resist.
OK, are we still counting in Turkish? bir, iki, uc (uch), dort, bes (besh), alti (alta) and seven is yedi; I guess I should be counting FASTER lol if I am going to have my numbers learned by the time I get there, but a lot of it is just learning the primary numbers. A lot of what I look at is lower numbers anyways. Things like beads can get expensive quickly though.
Sometimes you just need some truth, "It's too peopley outside." Funny thing, this was made well before COVID. Now with covid, this is DOUBLY true. I just adore the grumplings line of stamps from Taylored Expressions. TOO funny. This stamp is no exception. They are too fun.

Sharing this super cute stamp for the DH as his birthday is approach soon. I love him dearly and hope his day is special. I ask him what he wants, he says, "a donation to the capitol area food bank." yep. that's what he wants every year. He's so sweet.
OK, so back to learning Turkish number, one is Bir; two is iki; ten is ON; If I keep making myself say them everyday all month long, perhaps I will be OK when I get to Turkey. Mostly at the market because you are holding up some type of product and the response is always a Turkish number. So it makes sense to learn numbers quickly. The term to get a price is ne kadar? (how much is it?)
Here's another Fat and Fluffy card for you. Sorry you can't see the card's edges, but the card was quite white which blended into the background. I did one card like this using a cat a couple months ago, it was a bit hit. I thought I would use this cute guy from a Cat's Pajama's Rubber Stamp set.

OK, back to yesterday, learning numbers in turkish, so if i was buying something for $2 in turkish, that would be iki. On--ten, iki - two; Are we learning? You think I would learn faster, but no, since brain surgery, I can't just get a huge list and learn them quickly.

I really must learn some turkish on my next trip. I know only very basic things. I need to learn things like numbers (so I know what they are telling me in the market), directions,....wish my Turkish friends here had time to teach me.
OK, will start with numbers, let's all learn together, a few numbers I already know, like 10, because it sounds like one in english, "On" means 10 in turkish. When I am walking through a market, i hear "ON" very often meaning 10 lira. (that's about $1.35)

I just love this funny stamp from Unity stamps. I am not really a cat lady (in person) but perhaps in heart. She is just TOO cute. I think in person though this might be a bit overwhelming. Makes me want to go to a cat cafe though so I can pet a cat or two. One thing about Istanbul is there is a lot of very tame cats all over the place that you can (and people do) take care of and nuture. They are city cats and have been tagged by the city (there's also dogs....same) that just live on the streets but they are tagged and have been given shots and taken care off and the locals just care for them.
One story about that. I was enjoying a morning, sitting across from the Blue Mosque. Some stranger approached me, unusual (unless he was a salesman, either a tour guide or a carpet salesman), he came an sat right next to me. Weird. Esp in that culture. There's not one other person around but me and that man. At any rate, he's talking a LOT. at some point one of the very large city dogs walks right up and sits right in between us! Yep. Time for me to immediately excuse myself and take off. I petted the dog for a moment and he (the dog) and I left.
