Heart Bloom

 Wow, it's April 30th.  Happy Tuesday.  I can't believe we are at the end of the month now.  Tuesday's are always very slow as we only get one child who comes.  He's such a delight.  What a sweet little boy, it's amazing to see how much these kids grow and learn.  He's been with us since December and I have seen so much growth in him.

Coffee Person

Happy Monday everyone!  This is the last couple of days of April.  Woo Hoo.  Just 24 days until Turkiye now.  Thought we would start out the week with a little coffee theme card... It says, "I just realized I'm not a morning person. I'm a coffee person."  Here's a really weird thing, I don't often care for American coffee nor do i drink coffee day to day at home.  I do however love coffee in Turkiye and enjoy it there!

 Here's a little humor to start off the day!  HA!  I just got a huge laugh out of it.  I hope you do too.  Perhaps I have never mentioned it here on this blog, but another hobby that I love is collecting fossils.  I live in south Texas where they are readily available.  And by that, I mean, you could go into the dirt in your backyard and probably find some!

ONE MONTH!!  I am now 30 days from departure.  How exciting is that? I know I am so ready to go.  Just a month now.  Woo Hoo.  Four and half weeks of school to go!  We can do it!  I thought this lace was just gorgeous!  I love the sentiment on this card, "Love is in the air.  And it smells like coffee."  HA!

 Happy Friday everyone!  I can't believe we are at another weekend and one that is so close to the trip, it's just a month away!  WOW.  and there's just a month of school left.  Awe.  Happy Tuesday everyone.  Thought I would share a card with one of my favorite topics today, COFFEE!!  You all know I love coffee as a topic, lol.  I took an awesome class at the convention to make coffee theme cards, it was from Brass and Bliss (a.k.a. Good day!

 Happy Friday everyone!  I am so excited for this weekend. I am just about five weeks from my trip so I am really starting to make a list of things that I need to get done before I go.  I know it seems far away, but I really feel like I only have 10 days, (I.e. the weekend days), to get things done and ready.  What's the next big event that you are getting ready for?

Here's what is happening today

Sky gazers and the general public will soon be able to enjoy one of the most fascinating astronomical events there is: a total solar eclipse.

Eclipse of the Sun in North America--The uniqueness of this event lies in the projection of a shadow on the Earth, which occurs thanks to the Moon covering the Sun for a few moments, causing a brief period of darkness during the day. During this period, the Sun’s outer atmosphere, known as the solar corona, becomes visible, showing a slight flare around Earth’s natural satellite.

Areas located in the center of the Moon’s shadow when it hits the Earth will experience a total eclipse. The phenomenon will only be visible within a narrow path on the Earth’s surface. The total solar eclipse can only be seen in North America.

Where i live in Austin, TX happens to be in the path of totality so I will see a full eclipse.  WOW.

Life is Beautiful

 Here's a sweet and simple card using beautiful papers from Echo Park and a technique I learned in a class during the last convention.  We were taught to make 8 cards using 12 papers from a 6x6 Pad of printed papers (from Echo Park, though I guess it could translate to other companies).  It was a fun class.  We completed the 8 cards in less than an hour.  I would say we should also be adding some bling or buttons (or LACE) on this card to give it a little pizzazz

Hello Spring

Since we are a few days into Spring, I thought it was time for a Spring card.  Here's a cutie from Simple Stories with a sweet bunny and everything.  Makes me think of Easter which just passed this weekend.  I hope you all had a wonderful time.  Next week will mark a total solar eclipse where I live.  I am in the path of totality which means we will see a TOTAL eclipse where I live. WOW, that should occur on April 8th.  What a once in a lifetime event.

Crafting is my Therapy

So here's a sweet and simple card that I did using fun papers from Echo Park.  I took a class during the convention that taught us to make 8 cards in 40 minutes using half a pack (12 sheets) of Echo Park pads.  How fun is that?  I loved the class.  I went back to my hotel (after buying some echo park 6x6 paper pads for $2 and made 48 cards!!)
