Guest Artist: Judy B

Here's a wonderful card that I recently rec'd in the mail from Judy of Marquette, MI. She was a winner of some great blog candy in the most recent contest. She took her prize (stamp set) and made me a creation! She used Glimmer mists with a doily to create the background. It's harder to see on this scan, but you can see the pattern left in the white area, as she laid the doily on top and then spritzed.It turned out beautifully. Wonderful warm colors, my favs. I love the shimmery ribbon too. It really sparkles in the light.

Hot Stuff!

Here's a great image from Kenny K. I love his wonderful line of stamps. I thought this cute saying from The Greeting Farm went perfect with this girl. As you know, vacation is over. I have returned from Istanbul back home to Texas. I got some wonderful ribbons and embroidery that you will soon be seeing in my works. I bought some fun things to use on a scrapbook, but didn't see any type of rubber stamps or real scrapbooking supplies other than childrens stickers. Had a wonderful time. Definitely worth the trip!

It's Batgirl!!

I loved this adorable image from artist Christy Croll of Tiddly Inks. What a great digi-stamp! In Austin, we have a famous bat colony, one of the largest bat colonies in the world. I forget the crazy estimate, but it's something like 1.5 million bats that fly out from under the bridges on Congress avenue. This is in downtown! It's really a site to see. From a distance, it looks like smoke, as you get closer, you realize it's thousands and thousands of tiny creatures in a huge funnel...you would think it scary, but it's really not. They eat tons of mosquitos. Moon Fairy

Here's a beautiful stamp from Queen Kat stamps called Moon Fairy by Monica Galvan. I just love this shade of blue and it goes perfectly with this wonderful Bling paper from Bazzill. I did the wings in pink and added a great Queen Kat stamp that says "Missing You" as the saying (comes from Lighter Side of the Dark set). Well, it's monday and I should now be returning from Istanbul and arriving back home to Good 'Ol Texas USA. Gothic Dolly

I like this raggedy ann looking dolly from Queen Kat stamps. I think of her as a gothic style dolly. Too cool. I did the whole card in different shades of green, a monotone type theme. I never really had any dolls as a kid, but I never really saw any dolls like this either. Hugs for Paper!

Here's an adorable card using stunning papers from Paper Temptress with a fun stamp from Whiff of Joy. The papers in card have beautiful rich colors and texture. I added an image at the bottom to show more detail from the papers. The rich red paper I embossed using a Sizzix folder.

The background paper is a beautiful textured paper called Black Felt Grandee. It has a wonderful texture and a thick basis for the card. The red paper that I embossed using Sizzix is the Pop Tones Wild Cherry. It's vibrant and bright, it runs through the machine easily and holds the texture nicely. The stamped image is done on Neenah Classic Crest Solar white. This is a great cardstock for stamping on. (I also highly recommend their Heavnly white! it's delicious!) The image is mounted on a piece of Black (Crepe) ruche paper which give the card another texture. Finally I added a sliver of silver (always save those extras!!) to the base of the card to give a shiny glitter.

Here's a wonderful new stamp from Queen Kat's Lolipop Labs. Don't you love her? I know I love this stamp line from their store. So adorable! I added a great saying that says "love struck". She so has that wonderful look on her face. I did her up in many shades of orange, which blend together perfectly!

Here's an adorable stamp from Lili of the Valley. This stamp is called Milly me and my dog. I added a saying "Cute as a button" because both Milly and her doggie are cute as can be! (and I LOVE those tiny tiny buttons) Now, if only we could teach our puppy how to push us when we are on the swing. I don't think my dog ever learned that.

Meet Syren

Meet Syren. She's an adorable mermaid image from the Greeting Farm. I added a wonderful saying to the card from Sweet Pea stamps "Reach high, for stars lie hidden in your soul. Dream deep, for every dream procedes the goal." I had this wonderful Bazzill Swiss paper and used some great white "bubbles" to add some fun. Hope that I am out seeing the water in Istanbul.

Strawberry Girl

Here's an adorable Whiff of Joy stamp. Strawberries are definitely something you think of in Texas in the summertime. I grew up in San Antonio and one of the largest places for Strawberries that is famous is Poteet, TX. On the side of town that I grew up, Poteet was no more than 45 min away. They would have a huge strawberry festival every year. Humphrey Explosion Card

Hello everyone. I hope you are having a great week. Here's a wonderful project for Friday. It's a wild card that will "explode" with excitement when the recipient opens it. When completed, it is a 4x4" project that is neatly folded and tied up with a cute bow. Once the bow is removed. It pops open into a long three tier project!



Here's an image to show you what the entire card looks like when opened up, but I have taken lots of smaller detailed images so you can see each of the stamped items.

This project is called an Explosion card and the directions for creating it are given on the Ultimate DVD that comes with your Ultimate tool. The DVD gives a video with simple instructions that will have you making one in just a few minutes.

Here's my image from the top of the card. This stamp comes from the newest released Humphrey stamps called Birthday Conga.






Here's several more photos showing each layer of the card and the wonderful stamps from the Humphrey Birthday Conga set. I used Memento Ink and Copic Markers on this project.

The detail photos show you the additional stamp images as well as beautiful papers used to create the card. I used a Pearlescent paper in purple mixed with a wonderful sheet of matching purple and blue scrapbooking paper from the Fairyopolis Paper Pad.

On the back of the card, I taped the sheer ribbon down with adhesive and then covered the location with a beatiful set of flowers. I could have also used a stamped image or a cute piece of printed paper.

Now, all I have to do to finish this adorable project is make a mini size box for it with my envelobox!

Here's Tilda and isn't she a princess? She sure is to me. Isn't every little girl a princess to someone? Probably to a lot of people. I know I look at little kids all the time and see the adults they are surrounded by. I hope those adults treat those kids as though they were a princess. But of course recall, a princess has a lot to learn, a certain way to behave, good manners and doesn't get away with much...hmmm....maybe being a princess doesn't seem that easy after all.

Love Struck

Hello everyone! Here's one of my favorites from Queen Kat stamps called "Lolipop Labs." I have made quite a few cards with these cuties. This stamp is called Day Dream. But for this card I had a sweet stamp (also from Queen Kat) that said "Love Struck" and I think that saying also fits this stamp so well. Doesn't she just have that love struck look? I colored her up in red with a red background for this card.She's made me fall in love....

Take Flight

I thought this card was very appropriate today as I am about to take off and leave for Istanbul, Turkey to visit a dear friend and her children. I will still have computer access and will be sharing wonderful cards with you all everyday, as well as sharing fun info about my trip, so stay tuned!

Here's a great Gorjuss Girl card. I so love this artist and her beautiful work. I like this saying "Never forget how to fly." I don't know that I ever forgot how to fly, just that my wings were broken there for a while and suddenly the doctors fixed them. I jumped up and out of the nest and I won't stop flying now! Praise God!

Squigglefly Challenge: Summertime

Here's the Squigglefly challenge this week, it's Summertime! Take your favorite Squigglefly digital stamp image and make a summer theme card. For me, I had to use blue for water and green for grass (though being here in drought ridden south texas, I will confess that grass is never this green, esp this year as we are on a major watering ban).
This project uses some yummy colors of Mica paper from Paper Temptress! They have a huge collection that they sell. It's totally shimmery in the light and delicious! Here's a beautiful stamp that I got from Sugar Nellie. Isn't she a cutie? I love this company but don't often get to order from them as they are outside the USA. This stamp was too sweet to pass up on. She's called Honey Bee and is sold as part of the "Home Grown" Manga collection.

Crafter's Companion Paint Fusion

Happy Friday everyone! Here's a Paint Fusion product using one of the newest flowers in the stamp line, a Sunflower! I used different colors on mine though. I had an assortment of yummy paints and used a combo of red and butternut. Here in Texas amongst the Sunflower patches, you will look out and see the red ones. They are a bit darker than the image on my card here, but you get the idea. I had this stunning paper with a shimmery finish and I wanted the flower I created to match the paper.
I made the card XL and tall like a legal size envelope. I can also use some of the yummy pink shimmery paper with my Ultimate Tool to make a perfectly sized matching envelope! To create this project, first I used one of the recycled ATC chipboards, created a background with a crackle pattern; I stamped the images onto it using white Stazon Ink, painted my flower and parts of the leaves. Then I used the stamps as background images for my card (they work great just like any rubber stamp would! You can use these stamps just for ordinary stamping too!) Finally, I mounted my painted art onto the card.

What a wonderful way to share your tiny painted masterpiece!
