I bet the girl here would also be ready for a great summer.

Sweet

Here's a card of the Sweetest little girl!  She's picked a flower just for you.  This card is made using a digi-stamp from TiddlyInks named Minnie and amazing paper from Paper Temptress.  The base of the cardstock is a stunning Mica, that is both a thick card base and has a stunning shimmer.  This color is called Amethyst.
I added a really cool layer on top by using a clear transparent sheet.  I took the transparent sheet and used  a border punch along the edges, then used a chalk ink pad on one side.  That side faces down against the amethyst mica cardstock.  I used small floral brads to hold the transparency in place.  The image was printed out on 80lb copic friendly paper that's great for running through a printer, I choose Neenah Solar white.  I chose a cute little tag from Making Memories that says "Sweet" to go with the image.  I took one of those tiny slivers of xtra paper that I have, that pink paper is Poptones Cotton Candy.

Project Materials:  Cardstock (Paper Temptress);  DigiImage(Tiddly Inks);  Punch (Martha Stewart);  Tag (Making Memories);  Brad (Bazzill, Queen&Co);  Ink (Colorbox Chalk);  Adhesives (Popdots, Glue All);

All I need is your Love

Here's a striking image from Sweet Pea artist Joanne Schempp called Dusty Rose.  I will confess that I was not hooked on this image when I first saw it, I got hooked by this image when I saw several other design team members make some amazing projects, check out their stunning creations to see my inspiration.

I had to choose my favorites, of course, which is a warm tone, reds and oranges, also as summer approaches, I tend to use more and more in that color family.  I think she looks delightful in that color.  Even though her coloring is very bright, I still kept a dusty rose color.  I added a small vellum saying "All I need is your Love" which I think is very fitting for this card.  Here's a close up of the stamp image.  Isn't Joanne Schempp a wonderful artist?  She has many brand new stamps available at the store right now.
Hope this card inspires you to make a beautiful card.  Check out all the great specials at the store right now.

Project Materials:  Cardstock (Bazzill Bling, Bazzill, Making Memories Printed Paper, Neenah);  Stamp (Sweet Pea Stamps); Ink (Memento, Colorbox Chalk); Flowers (Prima);  Bling (Michaels); Brad (Making Memories); Butterfly (FloraDoodles);  Color (Copic Markers); Adhesives (Pop dots, Glue Dots, Glue All);  Stickles; Buttons (Jesse James); Die Cut (Spellbinders Nestabilties);

Squigglefly Challenge

Here's a fun card I made for this week's Squigglefly Challenge.  This cute image is from artist Fawn Palmer and is called Birthday Mermaid.  This card however isn't for a birthday, it's just a celebration card.  You can see the little flags on there, made out of toothpicks "Life is Sweet" and "Eat Cake";
This week's challenge at Squigglefly is called Square Peg in a round hole, the goal is to think outside the box and take something new or different and add it to your card.  In my case, I am using some shells, sand (right from outside) and some toothpick embellishments.  Check out the Squigglefly Challenge Blog for other examples and suggestions.

Rose Clock

It's time for a quick and easy stamped card for a little  inspiration.  This stunning image comes from the Stamp-It Discovery Collection and is called Rose Clock.  It's a large image which covers the front of your card and makes a gorgeous centerpiece, it measures (when stamped approx 3.5 x 2.5 inches).    To highlight the image, I really wanted to bring out the pink, so I used alcohol ink makers to color the rose.
After coloring the rose, I used Chalk inks to brush the edges of the torn paper.  I used wonderful shimmery purple metallic based paper from Crafter's Companion as the background on this card and punched pink paper.  I just love the saying it has "Gather the Rose of Love whilst there is yet Time.  Edmund Spensor."

Last week's candy winner gets One set of Rock-a-blocks PLUS a set of Popcorn Bear stamps, the winner will be announced tomorrow, so check back to find out if the winner is you!

May Flowers

Here's a fun image from Tiddly Inks on some stunning papers from Paper Temptress.  The base of this card is the Sorbet cardstock called Watermelon.  It's a heavy cardstock and a very bright pink color.  Just lovely and a wonderful base for cards.  It makes your work very professional looking and feeling.  The black cardstock is actually an amazing glossy cardstock with texture and pizazz.  It's called Retro Black Glossy Lustre.  It shimmers in the light and has a beautiful feel to it.  I used a punch on it to make a unique set of borders as well as a centerpiece.
The stamp image comes from artist Christy Croll from digi-stamp store Tiddly Inks.  She also has images sold through a rubber stamp store called Stamping Bella.  For this image, since it was a digi stamp, I printed it out on my computer, so I used 80lb Copic friendly paper.  The paper I chose for this project was Neenah Solar White.  I tend to use this brand when I am using my laser printer.  When stamping, I like to use the Heavenly white paper that is a little thicker, 100lb or even the 120lb.

Hope this adorable card made you smile today.  Go grab some paper and make yourself a beautiful card.

Cheers, Holley

Moonlit Companions

Checkout this stunning image from Sweet Pea stamps artist Rebecca Sinz called Moonlit Companions (Plate # 197).  Isn't she beautiful?  Be sure to check the artist's coloring so you can how different she looks with the brown tones I added in my card here.  I think she would also look stunning if I had made her hair a really rich shade of brown to match the skirt or a fiery red color like the dragon.
I used several layers of specialty papers and long border punched papers to add some highlights along with some beautiful Prima flowers to add just a little touch of embellishment.  I think this image is just so stunning that it really stands out all on its own.
Hope this card has inspired you to make a beautiful card this week.  Have you seen the newest images from this artist? Plate #205 was released recently and tons of wonderful examples have been created by the design team.   Have a crafty weekend.

Cheers, Holley

A wee dragon

Here's a super cute little dragon from artist Carla Morrow of Queen Kat stamps.  He's just sitting there and looking up at his balloon.  So cute!  Can't you just imagine that?  Just like a little kid would be watching a balloon of a dragon, a baby dragon is watching a balloon a child.  Too funny.
Project Materials:  Carstock (Neenah, Hobby Lobby, Bazzill);  Stamp (Queen Kat);  Die Cuts (Lifestyles);  Buttons (American Traditional);  Punch (Martha Stewart);  Adhesives (Pop dots, Glue all, Glue Dots);  Color (Copic Markers);

Make a Wish (BLOG CANDY)

Make a wish, will it come true?  I guess we will all wait and see.  I know as a child I made a lot of wishes. Some came true, some took many years to come true, some I am glad they didn't come true and some I am still waiting for them to come true.  This cutie here is one of the newest Humphrey stamps called "Make a Wish" and she's just adorable!
I added a vellum sentiment "Love these little moments" as I think I see more friends my age who are parents watching their kids and grandkids grow up so quickly and they are missing the little princess girl with her wings and crown.

Now, on to the goodies!  Last week there was a sign up for a HUGE prize from Crafter's Companion, it was for a $60 prize, the Ultimate Tool, all goodies that go with the main set.  That winner will get announced TOMORROW!! But for today, Crafter's Companion is continuing on it's customer appreciation month by having a new prize, this week the prize (one prize available on my blog, another on the Crafter's Companion blog and more on every other design team members blogs, so go sign up everywhere!!) will be a brand new set of "Rock a blocks" (CLICK HERE) and a set of Popcorn Bear Stamps (CLICK HERE).  The stamp set you win will be selected by Crafter's Companion company and mailed directly to you. Squigglefly Challenge

Happy Monday Everyone!  Are you ready for this week's Squigglefly Challenge?  Well this week the challenge is to use Stickles (or any other form or glitter glue) somewhere on your project.  Here's my sample for the project.  I am using an adorable image from Squigglefly artist Chesney Young called Badonkadonk. I used some wonderful shimmery cardstock from AC and added specks of stickles to the polka dot embossings.
I also added a great saying from the same artist, it's only .99 at the Squigglefly store "I don't need your attitude - I've got my own!"  I will say it was a tough choice between that saying and other hilarious saying from the same artist that says "I like to call it my weapon of mass distraction."  TOO funny.    Drop by the Squigglefly challenge blog this week and check out the cards that the Holley Hobbyists made and then make your own card to play.

Project Materials:  Cardstock (AC Metallic, AC, Neenah, Archivers);  Digi-Stamps (Squigglefly); Stickles (Firebrick Red);  Color (Copic Markers);  Die Cuts (Spellbinders Nestabilities);  Adhesives (pop dots, Glue All);

Spring Moony Night

Here's one of the originals from Sweet Pea Stamps artist ching-chou kuik called Spring Moony Night (Plate #22).  This image is just stunning, I had some gorgeous ribbon with a whole rainbow of glittery sequin colors and I was looking for the perfect image to match.  I think this image really does the trick.
I added a wonderful saying "All the flowers of all the tomorrows are in the seeds of today. Indian Proverb" (Plate #8).  I just love the forlorn look on this beautiful mermaid's face.  It's as if she is already imagining the beautiful flowers of tomorrow.  Perhaps she is holding out that lamp and awaiting the arrival of her lover to come home.

Be sure to check the Wed Posting to see who won the Sweet Pea stamps--all the winners prizes are being mailed today:  Nataliya, Luanne, Bhawana (to Priya) and Rebecca.   ALSO there is blog candy on the Tues posting, so if you haven't sign up for that, go back to the May 1st posting and read about it.
