Treasure!

Hope you are having a great day and looking forward to next week. I am sharing this beautiful image from The East Wind.  I have always loved this artist's images!  So stunning. The card says, "You are a treasure."  how perfect is that?

Question of the day: what is your least favorite stamp topic?  do you not like christmas? alphabets? flowers? animals?  do you like 'em all?

Me?  Hmmm, I don't do much Christmas use many alphabets, don't do a lot of realistic looking stamps of flowers or scenery

Lady and her Cat

Here's a delightful stamp from The East Wind.  I adore this cute cat and added the perfect sentiment for this month, "Celebrate the everyday!"  How great is that.  I also just LOVE this piece of Turkish lace that I added.  Usually i goto the lace stores in the lace district and get whole packages of lace (like 5meters or 10meters), but sometimes and often I will go to the pazaars (like a bazaar, but bazaars are permanent structures and pazaars are put up daily in different areas of town.)  Well, sometimes you go to the pazaar and in different pazaars you will find a whole area there that does lace, row after row of laces (think flea market).  It's just awesome.  The pazaars may sell pieces or small portions of lace (remnants) for just a lira (which right now is about  USA 14 cents).  How fun is that?

Question of the day?

do you use 3d stickers like Jolees or flat stickers on your cards?

I love adding sentiment stickers and dimensional stickers but seem to avoid chipboard and alphabets personally

Did you sign up on Feb 1st?  Prizes are drawn from Feb 1st all month, so be sure and leave a comment there (click here)!!  No Prizes have yet been drawn for Feb 16- Feb 21, be sure and sign up for those prizes as well! See the master prize winner list HERE!

Purrrrrr

Here's a darling image from The East Wind. I just love her images, esp the ladies.  This cute cat though, you know I had to get it!  I added some great Turkish lace to go with it.  I hope you like it.  Missing my own cat (she passed many years ago) but it sure was nice to be in the bedroom and have her jump up on the bed to lay with me.

Hope you are having a great week.

Girl with her cat

Here's a delightful image from The East Wind.  Isn't she pretty. I just love that she has a cat. I do so miss my cat (she passed away many years ago).  I added a simple artistic sentiment today, "Stepping back from her canvas, she saw her soul."

Hope you are ready for the new week.  I am over joyed that it is spring break.  I think both the kids and the teachers need this break.

Sweet pea Stamps

Here's  a stamp from Sweet Pea stamps that I got a long time ago, but also this image comes from The East Wind.  I just love their images so much. I was so excited when Sweet Pea stamps made their images into rubber.   I miss Sweet Pea stamps, I worked for them for many many years.

Speaking of, I am selling goodies in several Facebook groups, including a bunch of Sweet Pea stamps, if you are interested, email or check me out on facebook and I can give you a link to the sale pages.  Cheers, Holley

Spooky

Here's a great image from The East Wind.  I left this image in black and white and added some grey tones to it.  Then I used orange and black embellishments to go with it.  I just love the East Wind's images. So beautiful.

I can't believe we are almost to the end of September, it's been already 6 weeks of school.  We are finally getting into the routine of things.  What a great year.  Cheers, Holley

Happy Birthday Ruveyda!

Happy Birthday to Ruveyda today!  She's a dear friend's daughter but she was not there when I was visiting in Turkiye, she was in America working in California!  I hope you have a wonderful birthday Ruveyda.  Special wishes for you today and all year long.  May you have many Blessings.  I left  a present for you in Turkiye with your mother. Enjoy the rest of your time in America

This cute image is from The East Wind, isn't it precious?  I thought the card would look great in green.  Offhand I can not think of who did the sentiment, I want to say Unity stamps, but I am not sure.  If you know, please tell me.

Lucy Loo

Here's an awesome image from one of my favorite online stores, The East Wind. This character is called Lucy Loo.  I love her and have quite a number of her wonderful stamps.  I like how she is popping out of the mirror on this image (and that awesome skull)

I am using some great Turkish Lace on this card.  I bet I am also still looking at all the wonderful lace stores all over Istanbul!

I am also using some wonderful Turkish Lace on this card. I really can't wait to see that when I get to Turkey!  I said I would share some photos of the lace stores.  Here's just a few photos.  There's literally dozens and dozens of stores that sell lace all in the "lace district". It's store after store after store...WOAH

Be Yourself

Here's a lovely image from the East Wind. I love this character that she makes stamps with, Lucy Loo. Just awesome. I am using a banner die cut from (I think) CC designs. Love it.  I also like the way this color combo of red, black and grey turned out together.

More testing is approaching the kiddos, keep them in your thoughts it's a very stressful time for all of them.

New ideas

Here's a great image from The East wind, I just love her awesome drawings. I added a great Cosmo Crickett saying, "Coming up with new ideas isn't as hard as breaking free from the old ones."  Hope you like this card today

Happy May everyone!  Can you believe it is finally here?  I am so ready for it. It's now the last month of school, the kids and the teachers are getting restless and ready for the summer time.  I am still working out everyday in a feeble attempt to drop weight (down over 20 now). Hope to keep going though, I have about a month and 2/3 before vacation.

Lucy Loo, Traveler

Here's an awesome image from The East Wind. I just love her Lucy Loo images.  I added some stunning Turkish Lace to this card along with some large buttons.  I thought they were just perfect together.  I love the travel theme of this card since I will get to go traveling this summer time

I hope you all have wonderful summer plans too even if it is just rest and relaxation!  That's always what I like to do, but I am so looking forward to this upcoming break.  Just 35 days left of school now.

Gorgeous East Wind Image

Here's a stunning image from The East Wind.  I added a great sentiment (pretty sure this is Unity, please correct me if I am wrong); "It's not what we have in life, but who we have in our life that matters."  I thought the seriousness of her look went well with a thoughtful saying.

I got several items into the mail yesterday:  Shabneez, GR Farrell (item1 of 2), Kaye, Kaja, Vinita(item 1 of 2), Sindhu, Christine, Jackie, Laurian

All the images from Notturno Digi stamps have been emailed:  Kathy, Pat, Donna, Mel C,  Laurian, and Tracy W.

The prize from Scribbles has been sent to Em Louise.

The following digi prizes should already be rec'd:  Marie Medel illustrations, Time 4 Tea, Scribbles, Notturno Digi stamps, Limited Runs, Enchanted School, Bloobel and Ike's Art;

I am working on these: Miss Rach stamps, Sandra Caldwell digis, KJ Arting, Lizzy Love, Besties by Sherri Baldy, Paper Nest Dolls

Cheers, Holley

Sexy cook

Here's a wonderful image from The East Wind.  I do so love this artist's stamps!  My favorite I think is Lucy Loo.  She recently sent out a favorite stamp of mine as a freebie, so keep your eye's out for a new East Wind card soon.

Today I am off to the doc in the morning and then getting straight to the office a little bit late.  Lol, the office, what I really mean is the school.  I can't believe how cold it is.  Tomorrow morning is going to be in the 30s.  UGH, back to outside duty.

I thought this Lucy Loo image was just TOO great for those sexy nurse cards you sometimes need, be it Halloween or get well times.  Hope you like it.

Lucy Loo, The East Wind

Here's a gorgeous image from The East Wind.  I just love this Lucy Loo character that she creates.  There's a wonderful contest going on right now on the Your Scrapbook Place blog that is a card challenge this month sponsored by the East Wind.  Drop by over there and enter your newest card to share with us. The contest is Anything goes!

I am using some great lace from Istanbul on this card. I think it goes perfect with the delicate image of Lucy Loo in this photo.

Thanks for those who asked about the Bazaar, the church sold almost 3/4 of what you all saw!!  that was a great addition to the money that they earned. I was so happy about that.  I took what was left today to my work and sold about 3/4 of what I had left, so looks like I will be starting from scratch next year.  Guess I better get started now!

Witches Brew

Here's a recent image that I got from The East Wind.  I thought she would be perfect for a Halloween theme card.  I colored up her dress in red and added some witchy theme embellishments as well as some cool skull paper for her card.

I just got some awesome Skull/skeleton die cuts that I hope to get some cards made before Halloween to share.  But if not, you all know I never need to have Halloween as my excuse to share skull theme cards :)

Cheers, Holley

Eat, Drink and Be Scary

Here's an awesome image from The East Wind. I totally love this artist's images, especially her character Lucy.  She used to also have stamps made at Sweet Pea stamps, but I was her fan long before that.  I adore this cool image, she's looking like the GLAM Zombie that she is!  I added some cool skull lace to the project. Totally wish I had found some of that in Turkey, but unfortunately not. I got some online and I don't even know WHO I got it from. It was in an facebook group.

Hope you are all having a great week, go out and "Eat, Drink and Be Scary!!"
