Have a Happy Day!

Here's a new image from Squigglefly artist Cheryl Alger called Backpack Maddie.  I made this card for the Squigglefly challenge this week which is to include a sentiment from Squigglefly on your card.  I added a sentiment that comes with another Squigglefly stamp called Just Flyin' By, an adorable bear stamp with four different sentiments for only $3.

Which die cutter type do you have?  Sizzix?  Wizard?  Cricut?  Cuttlebug do you have more than one?

I must confess that I have too many, lol!  Way back when, I got the smallest size Sizzix, then I got a Making Memories Slice as a gift.  That really made me want a Cricut.  I had a dear friend give me her old red Sizzix, the very first original one.  Eventually I got myself a Cuttlebug, as it seems to cut every die the best and it also cut different sizes.  Lastly and most recently I picked up one of the Sizzix Bigz as it was on sale for $29.  At this point I pretty much just use the Cuttlebug and Bigz, I keep them side by side right next to my crafting area.

OK, that's my confession for the day, how about you, what die cut machines do you have?

Be sure and check the current winner's list (CLICK HERE) and see if your name is on it...if you name is in Black Bold print, then I haven't gotten your address or email, so please drop me a line at htondre@aol.com.  If you are new to the blog, we are having a wonderful celebration this month, blog candy everyday, be sure and go sign up, esp on Feb 1st as the grand prizes will get picked from that location (click here) then you can go back through previous days (last week) and leave a comment on each day for your chance to win.

You are my Sunshine

Happy Monday everyone!  So the challenge this week at Squigglefly is to create a song theme card.  This cute song below popped right into my head.  I am sure many of you know the chorus.  "You are my sunshine. My only sunshine. You make me Happy, when skies are grey.  You'll never know dear, how much I love you. Please don't take my sunshine away."
But, do you know how many artists have recorded this song?  I must confess, I just think of this song as some children's song, esp recalling it from a TV commercial.  But this song has been recorded by a number of famous muscians including--Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Rickie Nelson, Ray Charles, Gene Autry, Copeland, Bob Dylan, Donnie Osmond, Ann Murray, Doris Day, Carlie Simon, Elisabeth Mitchell and SO many more!! It is the State Song of Louisiana!  I am using a beautiful stamp from artist Cheryl Alger called You are my Sunshine.
Be sure and drop by the Squigglefly Challenge blog this week and create a card to play along.  Just come up with a fun song and make a cute card to go with it.  If you use any Squigglefly stamp, you are eligible to win a prize!

Snowman says thanks!

Happy Monday everyone!  You know what that means?  I am sure if you have visited before, then you know Monday is often for a Squigglefly Challenge.  This Monday is Rhonda's team and I am making a card to participate in this week's challenge.  The theme this week is to make a thank you card.  This is a perfect time to do it, as I know everyone has gotten many wonderful things over the holidays.  I am using an adorable new image from Cheryl Alger called Winkie's Snow Day Dreaming.
All the great papers on this card are from Paper Temptress.  So check them out, the base of the card is a bright red cardstock called Pop Tones Wild Cherry.  The snowman stamp was printed out on Neenah Solar White 80lb paper.  For Digi-stamps, I typically use this paper because it runs through my particular printer very well.  If I am rubber stamping the images and coloring in copic markers, I also love to use the Heavenly White paper.  The background paper that I die cut with Spellbinders as well as the paper that I tore behind the saying is Glossy Sky Blue.  To finish of the front of the card, I used a piece of the Hambly Overlays.  These sheets are typically sold in 12x12" papers.  They are just perfect for adding wonderful embellishment to your card that's unique.  A single sheet is enough for tons of decor for lots of cards.  The sheet used on this card is the Gold Hanging Heliconas.  Lastly, I used a small piece of translucent vellum for the saying, you can either stamp a saying on it or run it straight through a printer!

Be sure and drop by the Squigglefly Challenge Blog this week and play in the Thank You card contest!  You can use any stamp you like, but if you use a Squigglefly stamp, even a freebie, you are eligible for a prize.  Check the Squigglefly Site for Freebies.

Project Materials: Cardstock (Paper Temptress);  Digi-Stamp (Squigglefly); Button (Bazzill);  Adhesives (Pop dots, Glue Dots, Glue All);  Die Cuts (Spellbinders Nestabilities);  Colors (Copic markers);
