Are you ready to party?

I know this lady is!  She's a Sassy Studio Designs image and she's going to celebrate with her love.  Me?  I am ready to celebrate with all of you!!  Starting tomorrow is BLOG candy every day in celebration of five years seizure free! It's a huge time point to reach.  I often see people who have the surgeries I did and will go back to having seizures at 5 years, 7 years, 10 years....there's often some remnant left in your brain that can cause seizures still or problems in a different section and at some point the episodes return.  Thus, I won't ever cease to be thankful for every year I am given.
So, starting tomorrow celebrate with me and get some goodies to craft with.  I would like to give early thanks to those who are celebrating with me already!  Sweet Pea Stamps, Sherri Baldy-My Besties, Bugaboo Stamps, Limited Run Stamps, Paper Temptress, and SLS Lines!  Then I have a ton of wonderful goodies that I have to share with you all!

Cheers, Holley

Rockabilly Rose

Here's an awesome image from our featured artist at Sweet Pea stamps this month, Maigan Lynn. This image is Rockabilly Rose.  I did a pink monotone card with this image using a tiny bit of grey for the roses. That's a reverse color pattern of the artist's actual coloring, be sure and check her coloring out to see how very different the image looks.  I think she looks so very much innocent with this color scheme.

Here's a closeup of the image. I just love the eyelashes, it's very much a trademark of Maigan Lynn's images.

Drop by and check out Maigan Lynn's other stamps at the Sweet Pea store and then share your creations with us at the Sweet Pea Stamps Friends and Fans page on Facebook!

Did you know that Sweet Pea is going to be one of the sponsors of blog candy next month? They are!! I will have both Rubber and Digi stamps from this wonderful store!  Have you seen the amazing blog candy photos?  CLICK HERE, it all starts on the 1st of Feb!

Let the Sunshine In

Here's fun stamp from an artist that I have been eyeing for quite a while. I finally just had to go over and get some of her stunning images at Ppinkydolls.  I combined her stamp with gorgeous papers from Paper Temptress today to create this card.  Isn't she cute?

The base of this card is created using wonderful textured cardstock that is narrow columns called Sunshine Yellow.  The shimmery orange cardstock which I diecut using Spellbinders border die is Mica/Metallic called Flame.  The center cardstock is a gorgeous  Amethyst Mica/Metallic cardstock.  I printed out the image using my computer on Neenah Solar White Classic Crest paper.  I fussy cut out the girl and added some cute sunshine ribbon.  I inked the edges of the card to let you see the beautiful texture of the cardstock.

Did you know Paper Temptress is giving away a wonderful gift certificate to their store during my celebration next month?  they are!! It all gets started on Feb 1st!!    Also--if you missed out, there was a little pre game goodie yesterday--go back to the previous post and leave a birthday wish to my friend!

Cheers, Holley

Happy Birthday Lynette!

Hi everyone, today we are having a blog hop for Lynette of Sweet Pea stamps!  She's the Store owner and our fearless leader. I also need to say that she's just the nicest person ever. I have known her for well over 5 years. I was on her design team before I was even eligible to have brain surgery and she and all the other members of the DT team at Sweet Pea stamps went through the whole process with me step by step as I got tested, prodded and poked to qualify for surgery and then every step of the way post brain surgery!  Not only that,  but she celebrates with me every year since.  A true friend.

I am using this wonderful Sweet Pea image from Conie Fong called Bella with Rose.  I hope you  have the best Birthday Lynette!

In celebration of Lynette's Birthday, please leave a comment here today wishing her a happy birthday!  In case you didn't know, I am having a HUGE blog candy celebration next month with Candy everyday including both rubber and digi Sweet Pea stamps, so I will pick a winner amongst those of you who leave Lynette a wonderful Birthday wish today (winner to be announced in early Feb!!).

Happy Bday!

Wishing you a very Happy Bday!  Isn't this card cute? this fun image is from Sherri Baldy.  I made this birthday card for a sweet child who goes to my church.  I hope he loved it.  He was sick that day so I gave it to his family.  This adorable image of a little girl sitting on a tea cup was just the perfect happy image to make a birthday card.

I hope you will drop over to the SSS Challenge blog and join in our fun this week, it's Birthday Card theme. There's wonderful Bestie stamp prizes given by Sherri Baldy for the winners.

I would pick you everytime!

Happy Monday everyone!  As I am sure you know, it's time for the Squigglefly Challenge.  I am very sad to say though, this will be the last Squigglefly Challenge.  The owners of the store have decided to pursue other endeavors (like their beautiful new kids/grandkids) so I wish them the very best and want to have a wonderful last challenge for them.  The challenge this week is called "Put a little Love in your Heart."  Your card must have EITHER the word LOVE or a Heart.  It doesn't have to be valentine theme, but it can be.  As you can see, my card does have both, a cute heart in the image, a button shared heart in black with little white polka dots and a stitched sentiment with the words "love-ya."

This wonderful image is called He Loves Me from artist Sandra Caldwell.  Drop by the Squigglefly Challenge Blog and check out what the other Holley Hobbyists created for this challenge and join in on our last challenge!  There will still be a prize given away by the store, three images that are preselected by the store owner.  Good luck!

Cheers, Holley

Hope you have a wonderful day and are looking forward to the weekend.  I feel tired and frustrated this week and I wish sometimes I could just put on my cute little bear hat and hold my little bunny and have life be that simple.   Well, tomorrow is a new day!!  The Oddball Art Stamp Challenge is currently to add some sparkle..how about cute metallic tages, sweet brads and this cute image is full of her own sparkle if you ask me!!

Cold

This beautiful winter image comes from Sweet Pea artist Marlon Teunissen and is called Cold.  She's available as a rubber stamp as well as a digital image.   I am using a shimmery flocked paper in the background with a combination of blue/brown paper for winter theme.  Here's the sentiment I added "Live in a way to make happy memories."  I love how she looks so lost in thought.  Also note that she definitely has some steampunk theme given her hat jewel and coat embellishments.

Here's a closeup of the image itself

Definitely drop by the Sweet Pea store and check out all the gorgeous images from this artist.  Also, drop by our Sweet Pea Stamps Friends and Fans page to share your gorgeous creations with us. We have regular contests there with wonderful prizes, regular coupons and lots of fun!

I have always loved you!

Here's a super cute stamp from Scrapbook Stamp Society (My Besties) artist Sherri Baldy combined with wonderful specialty papers from Paper Temptress.  This stamp is just too sweet and perfect for the upcoming Valentines day, so I colored up in dark pinks and combined her with beautiful papers for this creation. They are having a challenge over on the SSS Challenge blog that is Anything Goes, so please share your wonderful Besties creations there!

To create this card, I am using Neenah Classic Crest solar white paper.  Both as the 6x6" background as well as the die cut in which the image is printed out on.  The beautiful background is a  Hambly Studio Screen Overlay.  This overlay is called Magenta Brocade.  I will also say that these overlays are sold in 6x6" value packs where you get a bunch of sheets of different overlays, they are just perfect for card making! I attached it to the white card base with multiple glue dots.  I used a strip of White Ruche (crepe) paper that I brushed the edges with colorbox chalk ink.

Did you miss the previous blog candy photos (the DIE CUTTERS?)

Would you like a little background about WHY such a big celebration--
Well, two brain surgeries saved me and it's going to be the FIFTH anniversary.  Five years is a really big deal as the area inside the brain that was removed, as it heals there's a chance that a remnant will cause the seizures to return.  Often people have seizures quickly but there's that handful with a tiny remnant who have their seizures come back 5yrs, 7 yrs, 10 yrs...so every year you get is a TRUE Blessing!!

I can say my crafting friends have been SO awesome and incredibly supportive, esp when I first found out. It was a true blessing.  Now that I have been given this amazing gift of my health back, I want to give to ALL the crafter's out there.  All countries are welcome to play but I must say early on that in foreign countries, I have to limit what I can send due to the postal costs to flat items OR digital treats!!  However, I am more than happy to have goodies go anywhere in the world!

Hello!

Here's a gorgeous stamp from Lizzy Love (Oddball Arts). I just love this artist's designs, esp this girl that she has. I colored her up in a greenish blue and matched her with all sorts of décor.  She just wants to say Hello!  I hope you are having a great January and no matter where you live, I hope your weather is getting nicer, as here in TX, we have been fighting the cold.

I can't wait to be back in some shorts with pretty flowers, blue skies and butterflies everywhere.  Want to wish my brother a very Happy Birthday Today!!  Hope you have something special planned

Hugs!

Work Hard, Play Hard

Here's an awesome image today from Ike's Art. Totally love this artist's images.  I added a fun sentiment "Women who seek to be equal with men lack ambition."  ha!  This lady certainly doesn't look like she is seeking any equality at all.

There's a great challenge going on at Left of Center Creative Challenges with Ike's Art as their Sponsor as well at the current Challenge at the Ike's World Challenge Blog. Old an new--my old is the paper, flowers, my new being the image I just got from Ike's Art, the bling from Queen & Co and that awesome sentiment!

Shaker Cards, part 2

Here's two additional Shaker cards that I completed in the SEI class during last year's scrapbook convention.  It was a very quick paced fun class.

I came out of it with a huge assortment of 12x12 papers, a whole set of adorable wood embellishments, a ton of die cuts and instructions for other fun cards to make!

The label on this card was printed on both sides, I honest can't recall anymore what the other side said, something like Congrats! But I definitely make way more "Love ya!" cards than Congrats! cards myself, so I changed up the design to show what I wanted.

Shaker Cards, part 1

So, a while back, ok a LONG while back, like September, I told you that I took a fun shaker card making class at a scrapbook convention in San Marcos TX.  Here's one of the cards that I made in that class, hosted by SEI Scrapbooking.  They now have the cutest shaker card windows that make it just SUPER easy and way less messy for making shaker cards.  I have to admit, I was totally impressed with the class. I finished up three cards in a short time and had a blast.

Tomorrow I will share the other two cards that I did in the class, and I came home with a ton of goodies. I will say that when going to scrapbook conventions I find that SEI classes are always well planned out, have their supplies well done (and are very generous in their giving) and always hand out awesome prizes. Everyone in the class will get a prize with the grand prize always being something really great like a $50 goodie per class.  The lowest prizes being a treat like a bag of buttons or other store item (and you know I love buttons!).

Here's a gorgeous image from Sweet Pea Stamps artist Meredith Dillman called Red Poppy Fairy.  This stunning stamp is currently available in rubber stamp or digi stamp format.  I used lots of bling to go with this image as well as some shimmery brads, buttons and a shiny coated butterfly.

Here's a close up of the image. Isn't she just stunning?
