This day is a somber day of memory here in America.  I know my kids do not know or understand anything of such.  Nor do I ever hope they will understand such an event in their lifetime.  My thoughts and prayers go out to all those directly effected by the events on 9/11 both those killed and injured as well as those who fought and saved.

Happy September!  Wow.  Looking forward to seeing my kiddos today and having some fun.  I hope the further and further that we get along the better we can all play together and enjoy each other's company.  It's really amazing to see how much each child grows from the beginning of the school year to the end of the school year.  The photos we are taking very soon will be stunning at the end of school when you see how grown the kids look.

Let's Wander Together

 Last day of August.  Can you believe that?  Now we are just hmmm, how many days to Turkiye?  I better not look, it might be too big a number lol.  Here's a cute little card today that says, "let's wander together"  one thing we do with the kiddos is to wander once a week, like a field trip to show them different places (within reason and walking distance).  The previous classes just loved it.

Happy Thursday.  I hope you are having a great week.  Any teachers out there?  is school starting?  already started?  how was your first week?  i'd love to hear about it.  Today is my first day with the kids this week, in fairness it is only their second day.  I wish I could share photos, but that would be forbidden.  I am doing three year olds this year.  There's 11 in the class but each day we may be one or two students short.  Trust me, these kiddos are just TOO cute.

WOW, first Monday of Summertime that I am in Texas.  WHEW it's hot.  Thankful for air conditioning. That's for sure.  One reason many people don't like Turkiye is the lack of AC.  I am used to it. Home Sweet Home

Hello, I know I just got back but the store will open partially today (more like tonight) and then I will be adding things slowly as I am able to take photos.  I just want to thank my DH for everything.  I mean without his love and support I wouldn't get to do any of this.  Love you so much

Home is where your heart is

Well, we all know who my heart is, so I am happy to be home now.  WOW.  What a summer, not it's time to get all the lace in order and start up the store again.  Can we do that in just three days?  I think that may be optimistic.  I will be working as fast as a I can, so keep an eye out.

 

Home sweet Home

Well, after two months in Türkiye, there's no place like Home.  I am arriving in Dallas and my dear sister is picking me up and taking me back to Austin.  I am so thankful for her help. I am happy to be back in the arms of John and in Austin and sleeping in my own bed!

Happy Monday

I think Mondays are often holiday for most museums/sites, so I will likely spend the day saying goodbye to people and going to all my favorite places.  As is like me, I have already packed and weighed my bags so I can't add ANYTHING lol. Guess I better eat up some baklava WITH ice cream.

Almost time...

 Happy Sunday.  It's my last week, I have had a fabulous trip and I can't wait to get back home and hit the ground running.  I am so very thankful to be going straight from Istanbul to Dallas with no layovers.  That makes the extra luggage so much easier!  WOO HOO.

Hagia Sophia

 Last Saturday here, so I hope to relax and see some sights, you know, maybe act like an actual tourist.  I didn't do that as much on this trip as I have on others.  Since it's my last few days, I wish to do a little sightseeing too.  I'll have to see what items are new around town.

Last Friday

 Last Friday, perhaps a bazaar or just being with friends would be nice. I look forward to seeing then one last time and saying goodbye.  I want to go to my favorite restaurant in Capa and eat my favorite food one last time before I have to come home. One thing that means is a last glass of Turkish Tea.
