Sprinkled with love

Here's a cute little shaker card today made with some great lace from Turkiye.  This lace has flowers and pearly sewn into it!  Woah,  needless to say it was among the priciest of the laces that I bought.  But I just love it.  Thought it would add a nice little umph to this sweet shaker card which is very simple and CAS.

Hope your day is sprinkled with love everyone!

Friends

Here's a sweet and simple Friends theme card I made using a cardstock sticker from BoBunny and some wonderful metal butterflies that I got in Turkiye.  I got a huge bag of them for 15 lira (at the time, about $3);  I love the antique look of them, but even on a non-antique looking card like this, I think they add just the right touch.

Hope you are having a great end to the month of August.

Cheers, Holley

Fall Time Cheer

Here's a great Fall theme Bestie image from Sherri Baldy.  Isn't she too cute?  these new stamps are available in her shop, MyBestiesShop.com, so check them all out.  This image is IMG752.  She looks like she is mailing herself to her family.  In my case, that would be somewhere that they actually have fall time :)

Hope this cute Bestie makes you smile today.  There's a great contest going on over on the SSS Challenge blog, drop by and join in the fun over there for a chance to win some stamps from Sherri Baldy as well as an opportunity to be a guest designer on the Addicted to Stamps blog.

Follow your heart

Here's a lovely image from Paper Nest Dolls.  I have made this card for the Monday Greetings Challenge over at Outlawz.  The theme this week is to include some ribbon on your card. I have combined some awesome ribbon that I got on my last trip to Turkiye.  It has a combo or orange/blue and red in it, which was just perfect to match the colors on the image I colored.

Drop by outlawz and check out the design team's creations and then share your current cards using ribbon and of course, the card must have a greeting on it, showing on the front of the card.

what I found in Istanbul, part 3

So over the last couple of weekends I have been sharing the crafting goodies that I came across while I was in Turkiye.  This is in addition to the lace, which I always spend much time getting.  I will have to take some photographs of the lace for you later on. I got quite a nice selection of that.

These fun project patterns

Here's some great embellishments

Card Kit, project #2

Here's another card I made from the kit I bought in Istanbul.  It's an A6 sized card. I am using some glittery paper in pink layered on some printed cardstock with the image and some lovely brown ribbon on a shimmery gold card.

Well, tomorrow starts our first week of school for the kiddos.  Are we ready?  lol, do we have a choice?  I am ready to see their excited little faces.  That's what is great about elementary school, the kids are still excited to come back to school.

This cute card comes from a kit that I got from SEI for making shaker cards. It was not a card in the directions, but you have all the pieces leftover to make this card instead of the other cards in the kit.

What I found in Istanbul, part 2

So here's some more of the stamp sets that I found while in Istanbul.  The stores that I found these in were in Kadikoy neighborhood.   There was quite a bit of stamps in a couple of stores.  They were all hanging on the same hooks.  One store even had stamps on the outside of it, in the diplays in front of the store.

Next weekend I will share some of the embellishments that I found.

Happy Birthday Ruveyda!

Happy Birthday to Ruveyda today!  She's a dear friend's daughter but she was not there when I was visiting in Turkiye, she was in America working in California!  I hope you have a wonderful birthday Ruveyda.  Special wishes for you today and all year long.  May you have many Blessings.  I left  a present for you in Turkiye with your mother. Enjoy the rest of your time in America

This cute image is from The East Wind, isn't it precious?  I thought the card would look great in green.  Offhand I can not think of who did the sentiment, I want to say Unity stamps, but I am not sure.  If you know, please tell me.

Vintage?

Here's a collage style card which is very unusual for me.  I got this card kit while I was in Istanbul, so you will gradually see the projects from it.  The photo makes the sequins look a weird green color I think, but they are actually a glittery gold, which goes nicely with the gold paper that the card it.

Hope you like this vintage card theme today. It was way out of my typical comfort zone.

Cheers, Holley

what I found in Istanbul, part 1

So I am sure as you all know, in additional to all the lace I am always looking for when traveling in Turkiye, I do also keep my eyes open for other crafting materials and of course, especially stamps.  Believe it or not I was tickled on this trip to find some actual stamps.  Not stamps imported from the USA, I will have to check where these stamps came from, they were not make locally in Tukiye, so I am guessing they were made somewhere in Europe.  At any rate, it was fun to find stamps that I can't ever see in the USA.

There was quite a stack of them in several of the larger art stores in Kadikoy, Istanbul;  (Lol, I guess by several I can recall three).  I only bought ones I thought I would use or perhaps give out as prizes during the Februrary Celebration!!

Here's some photos of some of them:

Next, weekend, I will post again with some additional photos of more of them.  Then I will share photos of some of the embellishments and other crafty items I found.

SEI Shaker Card

Here's a darling Shaker Card that I got in a kit from SEI.  I took several kits with me to Istanbul, but needless to say I never got around to doing them.  I did manage to get a 1000 piece puzzle completed during the first week and then started another one, but never had time to complete the second one.

SEI has some wonderful card kits that have all the materials included except basic materials like glue, adhesives, scissors,...;  They turn out such cute cards as this one.  I thought Home was a great theme for this week.

Be positive, patient and persistent

Here's an awesome image from Marie Medel Illustrations.  This cute image can be found in a wonderful set of stamps (or is sold separate).  With the school year starting, I have added a school theme sentiment, "be positive, patient, and persistent."  I thought that was some great advice for both the teachers and the students.

Next week just the staff is in session and the following week our students will be starting.  On this cute card I am using some awesome lace from Istanbul and fun silver paper from Paper Temptress.

Missing that cold yet?

I can remember all the complaining that happened about the extreme winter we had this year.  Are you missing that yet?  Well, not quite for me, but this summer has been record setting that's for sure.  I don't know if I can recall another year that it's been this hot.

Hope you have a great August and the kiddos are getting ready for school.  As staff at the school, we are required to report for duty next week.

Ya Wanna?

Here's an adorable stamp set from Unity Stamps.  You all know I made this card for my Hubby.  It's just a few days now before I will be home, so he is running on my mind a lot now.  Miss him so and looking forward to seeing him even though I am totally in LOVE with Turkiye and wish I had more time to stay.

Alas, work at the school calls and my DH needs me at home, so summer is ending for me.  Hope you are all having a wonderful day!
