Meet Tree Rex

Here's a hilarious card that I made using a die cut from Cheery Lynn, he's called Tree Rex.  Ha!  I just had to get this cute die and make him up.  He's too funny.  Hope you like this sweet and simple Christmas theme card today.

Super cold for us today, in the low 40s, which is about as cold as we ever get.  I can't imagine much colder for us as we don't even own real coats here.  I just hope the rain doesn't come when I am walking to or from the school.  Hope this card gave you a little giggle today.  Cheers all, Holley

Angel Hippo

Here's a brand new image from artist Sandra Caldwell of Babycakes DND today.  Isn't this an awesome Hippo angel?  I am also using some more gorgeous lace that I got in Istanbul.  I will have to upload my photos to my blog so you can see just SOME of the awesome shopping pictures I have. It was TOO much fun. Just imagine a THREE story shop filled with nothing but lace.  Then imagine next door on either side is nothing but more lace stores in every direction.  It's just amazing.

I am so ready to jump back on a plane and go back to Istanbul already.  How about you drop by the Facebook group for Sandra Caldwell Stamp Fans to check out all of her new images today, you will be getting a double bonus as this week we will be sharing both this week and last week's images!

Cheers, Holley

It's Fluffles

So here's one of my all time favorites, it's Fluffles!! I totally love this funny cat. I can't really point out what it is, but I just adore this stamp, I always have. He comes from Stampendous.  I have a small (ok, pretty good size) collection of Fluffles stamps.
I am using a brand new background die cut that I just got, loving it, it cuts so well.  Hope you all enjoyed Fluffles today, I made a couple other Fluffles Christmas cards, so you will get somemore treats using him before the holiday ends.

Steampunk Hottie!

Here's a wonderful Steampunk Image from Ike's Art.  They are having a color contest to use the following colors: Cherry, Tangerine, Chocolate, and Teal.  I worked the Tangerine and Teal in on the Steampunk's outfit and the other two colors on my card.

I hope you like this card, check out the Ike's Art images, I love her digi stamps!  I am submitting this fun card to the Ike's World Challenge this week.

Cheers, Holley

Sad Valentine

 Here's a stunning image from Sweet Pea artist Enys Guerrero called A Sad Valentine.  I think this stamp is great for any particular occasion though. I colored her up in blues and pinks together and a background of warm grey.  I like the steampunk embellishment on the image itself, so I went with that and added a bunch of steampunk die cuts to the final card.

Don't you just love the forlorn look on her face?  I just love that she looks so mature at one level, but then you see that unicorn coddled up next to her still.

Be sure and check out the other images from artist Enys Guerrero.  There's another image called Magical Steam Girl....oooo, I just LOVE that image too.  You will be seeing a card very soon with that girl.

Cheers, Holley

Isn't this just the cutest image?  It's a darling stamp from Sherri Baldy of course!  I made this fun card for the SSS Challenge this week, Add Swirls to your card.  I am using a beautiful die cut from Cherry Lynn to add some gorgeous swirls with a touch of leaves and some bling too.
Hope you will join in the fun this week. The contest is anything goes +swirl.  You could win some wonderful stamps from Scrapbook Stamp Society owner Sherri Baldy.  Check us out!

Squigglefly Challenge

Happy Monday everyone!  Yep, since it's Monday, you know it's time for this week's Squigglefly Challenge.  This week's challenge is to create a Mother's Day theme card.  I am using an adorable girl from artist Diane Carubia called Birthday Carly.  As you can see, I added a great brad with the word "MOM" right onto Birthday Carly's gift and now she's holding a mother's day present.  Perfect!
Be sure to go to the Squigglefly Challenge blog and share your Mother's Day card.  If you use an image from Squigglefly, you will be eligible for the prize.  All sorts of wonderful images can be used for a Mother's day greeting.  You can even choose a Squigglefly freebie-- I esp think that Hi Bella or Hummingbird freebie would be stunning on a Mother's Day card!

Project Materials:  Cardstock(Bazzill, Neenah);  Digi-Stamp (Squigglefly);  Ink (Colorbox Chalk);  Embossing (Crafter's Companion); DieCut (Cheery Lynn); Embellishments (All My Memories);  Brad (OTC);  Color (Copic Markers);  Adhesives (pop dots, glue all, glue dots);

Wonderland

Here's an awesome stamp that makes me think of Alice in Wonderland.  She's actually a wood mounted stamp, which is unusual for me to purchase nowadays.  I often get unmounted or EZ mounted stamps.  But I saw this one and had to get her.  The clock on her waist....just makes me think of time ticking down which is perfect for the new year.  She's called "Halloween Magic" by Stampendous.
Hope you are all looking forward to the New Year, I know I am.  Be sure to stay tuned for Feb!  There will be the Annual Celebration.  For those of you who haven't been to my blog before, we have a HUGE celebration in Feb to celebrate a wonderful brain surgery that I had back in 2010.  I had 2 successful brain surgeries and this Feb I will hit THREE years with no seizures.  Last time I was at the doctor I asked the nurse how many people make it to three years.  She said, about half.  WOW.  What a blessing.  Also, by the end of Feb, I expect to be almost completely off my first medication.  WOW.  That's a huge deal.  Post brain surgery, you don't even start medication reduction until your one year point.  After that, your first medication reduction is like 1 pill of 1 mediction.  Which is so small, when you take 5 meds a day.  However, it's critical that you do it like this because your body is SO accustomed to the medications.  Always go at the doctor's recommended pace.   Now, Just amazing.

So despite the other medical issues that I may talk about, this side of my medical life is truly blessed and taking less medications is wonderful!!  I know all these meds do effect the body's white blood cell count!  I have read that huge document on "possible side effects", not the 1 sheet the pharmacist hands you, the on-line 5-10 page document about the medication.  Hugs you guys!!  I am ready for 2013 and praying for the best.

Cheers, Holley

Oopsie!

Here's a darling Tilda who's made a little mess, but I guess if you are going to learn to be a cook at her age, you could grow up and be a great Chef one day!  Just got to keep scrambling those eggs up.  This adorable stamp I got over at Scrapalicious.  She is selling out her store and the Magnolia stamps are 30% off the discounted price!  Yum. I couldn't resist this cutie.  The gorgeous papers on this card are all from Paper Temptress.
The card base is a stunning shimmery Mica cardstock called Amethyst, it glimmers, so I added some black paper on top that also has an amazing golden sparkle to it.  The Black layer is called Incandescent Nero.  The image has been stamped on Neenah Solar White and the corners were die cut from the same cardstock.  The light blue cardstock used for layering is called Pop Tones Berrylicious.  It may look darker, but I used some colorbox chalk ink to rub on the edges with ink on both the Pop Tones cardstock, the Neenah Cardstock and the corner diecuts.

Coloring on the cute image is done in Copic Markers and the adorable diecuts are from Cheery Lynn.  I had to add a cute flat back button that says Chef to top the card off.  I wish you all could see it in the light, these cards shimmer so much thanks to the mica and glittery of them!

Cheers, Holley

Happy Fall Y'all

Here's an adorable witch from Sweet Pea artist Elisabeth Bell called "Wispy Willow with Pumpkin".  Isn't she SO adorable?  I think this witch is just perfect for Fall time in general.  She's not Halloween specific, so I will be using her to present a pumpkin card for lots of my Thanksgiving themed creations.  To do this, I colored her up in blue on this image and added some bright orange flowers that were crafted by a friend.

 Check out all of the wonderful Elisabeth Bell stamps including her newest creations that are now available.  So adorable!  I can't wait to get mine.

Project Materials:  Cardstock(Bazzill, Neenah);  Image (Sweet Pea Stamps); Ink (Memento, Colorbox Chalk);  Die Cuts (Spellbinders Nestabilities;  Cheery Lynn);  Borders (Bazzill);  Flowers (Crafted by Linda W);  Color (Copic Markers);  Adhesives (Pop dots, Glue All, Glue dots);  Bling (Hobby Lobby);

Happy Halloween!

Here's a delightful Halloween stamp. It's one of the very few wood mounted stamps that I own (OK, that's really not completely true, let me say, it's one the RARE woodstamps that I have purchased over the last six years or so).   I have been stamping too long to say that I don't have any wood mounted stamps.   She was just TOO quirky to resist though.  A pet bat?  how can you not love her?
Project Materials:  Cardstock (Bazzill Bling, Bazzill, Neenah);  Stamp (Inkadinkado);  DieCuts (Spellbinders Nestabilities; Corner- Cheery Lynn);  Bling (Michaels); Adhesives (Pop dots, Glue All, Glue Dots); Color (Copic markers);
