Meet the Flockers

I created this fun card for the Outlawz Greeting card challenge this week, it starts on Monday morning and the theme will be sports card.  I used a fun set of birds called Meet the Flockers.
The contest is very open as far the sport theme goes, it can include, summertime activities, running, fishing, we even have an adorable snowbuilding card that you can check out made by the DT.  The only other requirement is that you also include a sentiment on your card.  Mine is "Winning is not everything, but the effort to win is - Zig Ziglar."

Hope tomorrow you will drop by the Outlawz Greeting card challenge and check it out.  There's a different challenge each day at outlawz with different prizes as well as awesome monthly prizes.

Cheers, Holley

No one can EVER fill your shoes

Here's an adorable image from Stamping Bella.  I thought this little girl was super cute dressing up to walk around in heels like I think all of us have done in our childhood.  Isn't she a sweetie?  With more rain in our forecast today, I am guessing I will be getting lots more crafting done.

The majority of the time lately has been spent on VBS crafts, preparing little kits for each day for the children so they can just come in and complete their craft projects.  Super tedious work so far.  I have cut out about 300 elephant die cuts, over 150 spellbinders trees, 60 sets of grass (by hand I didn't have a die cutter for that).  Now I am getting ready to do dragons.  Print them out in white card stock and cut out the heads and feet which will get attached with folded paper in between.  Almost done!!

I'm a little teapot....

Here's a fun Sweet Pea stamp from artist Karen Middleton who is the featured artist this month. This adorable image is called Teapot Pixie.  I colored up her teapot in a set of Blue-Violet copics.  This card opens from the center, so the image is connected to the left and side and the sentiment is mounted only to the right side.    The lace in black and white is washi tape.

Here's a close up of this adorable image from artist Karen Middleton. Be sure and check out all of her fun images at Sweet Pea stamps available in both rubber and digi format.

Be sure and check out the Facebook Group for Sweet Pea Stamps Friends and Fans.  We have lots of fun contests, giveaways, coupon codes, card shares and more.  Join in the crafting with us there.

Beloved

Here's one of my all time favorite stamps, Gorjuss Girls.  I am sure that's obvious given the Header on my blog.  I just love this artist's images. So very beautiful. I am using some paper from Cosmo Crickett and fun die cut from Spellbinders

Thanks to those who inquired about the storms we are having here in Texas.  Being in Austin, I am right in the middle of it.  I am watching the rives (i.e the ones that were totally dried up due to 4 years of severe drought) turn in to amazing and crazy destructive forces.  My house is in a good location so unlike many, I am safe for now.  I have developed quite the pond in the yard. I am considering adding some fish so I can go fishing.  J/K.  Initially all this crazy rain was not helping the lakes (from which most of this community gets their drinking water), it was down below 40% now, in this one month it has gained over 27 FEET of water and is sitting at 67%.  Much of which happened in just one week.  It's expected to continue to rise as the floods dissipate. My prayers go out to those who have lost significant property, those affected by the tornados that also occurred and those who lost loved ones during this flooding.

Shaker Box, Goth Girl with Fish

Here's a fun image from SLS Lines digi stamps.  She's called Goth Girl with Fish Balloon.  Here I turned her into a shaker box card. I totally love the fun skirt she has on, I had to color it up in bright pink along with a yellow and orange combo and then I colored her dog's getup to match.  Too cute.

Here's the image before it went into the shaker box so you can get a much better view of how fun this image is.  Don't you love her fish balloon?
Hope you adore this fun image, check out the SLS Lines site on Etsy for all her images and we have a fun challenge blog here.  Join in the challenge and you could win a stamp!

My Friend

Here's a wonderful new stamp from SLS Lines Sitting Girl with cute kitty.  Don't you love this pretty lady and her cat?  SLS Lines has a whole bunch of fun cat images, from snooty princess cat to funny alley cat to a rebel kitty on his bike.  So adorable.  I am using gorgeous Paper Temptress papers to create this fun card.

The base of the card is mica cardstock called Flame.  I printed out the image on Neenah solar white classic crest.  The background is actually comes from Hambly Studios.  It is an overlay called Magenta Brocade.  You can also get the overlays in 6x6" format, which is perfect if you make greeting cards as you get all different types that work perfect on cards this size!  The borders on the sides of the overlay are beautiful mica in Azalea.  Finally I used a tiny piece of Gold mica to go behind the "friends" embellishment. It's just enough to make the sentiment pop right of the front of the card.

Hope you loved this fun card, have a Happy Memorial Day weekend.  If you are in my area, be safe from the rain.

Cheers, Holley

I was born to dance....

Here's the cutest dog, she was BORN to dance. She's Pugllarina.  How sweet is that?  She was designed by Sweet Pea artist Fernanda Oravec. Super cute.  Fernanda has a bunch of adorable dog theme stamps at the Sweet Pea store and one of the most amazing things is that proceeds from her stamps go to various charities for them.  Periodically there will be a posting on the Sweet Pea Friends and Fans page that lets you know how much money was donated and to which organization it went to!  How great is that?

Just an aside note, Fernanda is also an astounding colorist, she does regular coloring for all the artists on the Sweet Pea Stamps site. Drop by the Sweet Pea Stamps Friends and Fans page and check out her amazing work.  She's just the sweetest person with great talent.

Happy Friday Everyone!

It's Good to be Queen!

Here's a stunning image from Simply Betty stamps.  I paired that with a fun sentiment from Kraftin' Kimmie and beautiful papers from Paper Temptress to create this card today.  She's definitely the Queen of  Hearts.  I hope you adore her!

Here's some of the gorgeous papers I used for this card today.  The base of the card is brown bag.  The shimmery layer is lustre called Vintage Silver Lustre Text.  The image is printed using Neenah Solar White Classic Crest.  The image was layered on to some black basis card stock, which was also used to cut out the corner die cuts.  Finally I added some lovely heart die cuts from a Sizzix set, this card stock is a somewhat shimmery red with gorgeous tiny golden flecks in it, Vermillion Sparkle.

Have a happy day.

You are amazing

Here's a great image from Make it Crafty, I love the boots she has, I always wished when I was little that I would be a tall girl.  I guess that is why I date super tall men.  My husband is about a foot taller than me.

Hope you are having a great week, I can't believe we are at the end of May!  Where has this month gone?  I am about three weeks from VBS and spending every evening now making die cuts and such for the kids.  I have to do about 150 little spellbinder trees, I find I can get about 20 done per evening.  They take quite a bit of time.  Then I will cut out cute circles to go behind them as the "leaves".  Will definitely share a pic so you can see what the kids will make when I get done.

Cheers, Holley

Celebrate Simplicity

Here's a sweet image from Simply Betty Stamps. I colored her and then found some matching papers and ribbon to create this clean and simple card. I added a sweet sentiment "Celebrate simplicity"  Don't we all need a little more simplicity sometimes?
Been getting really geared up for VBS now as I am pre-cutting all the materials for the final two projects.  There's three weeks until it happens, but I am the only crafter doing the pre-cutting so I try and get a little done each day.  (Keep it simple that way).

have a blessed day!

Just a little Joy

Here's the cutest fairy from Lizzy Love, she's Img170,  when you get her, she comes in two forms, the one I used here, as well as a more typical little girl (without the stitches across her mouth...);  I just loved this one and wanted to use it first.  I am using a recent border punch from Martha Stewart and the tiniest every little black buttons (they look like little specs on the photo, but they are actually real buttons, 1/8");

There's a fun contest on the facebook page for card making with Oddball Art images as well as a challenge blog that you can enter your creations in.  I hope you love this cutie today.  Stay tuned for the upcoming week as Oddball Art images will be sponsoring a contest over at Outlawz as well.

Cupcake Happiness

"You can't buy happiness, but you can buy cupcakes. It's kind of the same thing!"  Hmmm, well I don't know if that's totally true, but it's awful close.  For me, I think it's more donuts than cupcakes.  I know when I get that super sad face, my hubby says something like, "you wanna donut?"  then I made that sad sad puppy dog face and nod.  I mean, how can a donut not make you happy?  This awesome image comes from a wonderful set of stamps from DeeDee's digi stamps called A Little Something. For only $3, you get three different images (both colored and b/w), five sayings and four papers!  WOW.

We're having a fun contest this week over on Outlawz Monday Greetings Challenge sponsored by DeeDees Digi stamps, so please come by and share a creation with us!  The theme is to include flowers somewhere on your card.  So please come on over and share your creations with us!

I used this adorable black and white polka dot card and decorated it with hearts, just what the tin man is looking for....do you think he will find one?  well, I guess if you don't know you will have to watch the film.  OH, when I posted this card, this stamp was on sale, only $2.10!!!

If I only had a brain

Here's one of the most adorable Scarecrow stamps!  He's from Sweet Pea Stamps artist Sandra Caldwell and is called Scarecrow Dude.  How cute!  I am grouping him here with awesome papers from Paper Temptress to create this fun card today.

Here's a close up of the image, printed on Neenah Solar White Classic Crest Paper and colored with Copic Markers.  He's currently available as a digi stamp.

The other cardstock I am using for this card which matches perfectly for the fun is a base cardstock of Tuscan Sun Brawny.  I overlaid that card front with a wonderful clear overlay from Hambly Studio.  You can get these great packs in 6x6" assortments which are perfect for cardmaking and come with a large mixture of papers.  You can also get this transparency individually as a 12" square sheet, it's called Brown Hanging Heleconias.  For the borders on top and the "straw" die cuts, I am using a beautiful sheer mica type cardstock called Amber.  The complementary color on the border is called Copper Mica/Mettallic.

You know I had to add a little brain joke with this scarecrow card!

Come back tomorrow for another Wizard of Oz card!!

I {heart} you

Here's a cute little girl from Tiddly Inks.  She's picking up sticks and has a special message to leave....I wonder who that is for?  I am sure the person she loves knows!
Are you all getting the amazing rain we are? I thought a nice green card would be appropriate for today given all the great rain we got. I will say though I got stuck under the pavilion at the park for over an hour last night as the thunderstorm really took a hold of things and it seemed best to just stay put!  WOW that was some great rain though.

Goth Marie Antoinette.  Too cool. I colored her up with a blue wig to matched the color of the shimmery paper that I used on the card. I had to add some wonderful skulls to match the skull in her hair and on her necklace.    I guarantee you that this lady IS the boss.
