Memories

I thought this card was just perfect right before the trip.  I am so ready to get back to Turkiye.  Such a wonderful country.  I can't wait to just relax and enjoy.  I hope to make lots of happy memories this year.  Wish me luck!

Hope to find lots of wonderful fancy lace!  WOO HOO.  Hmmm, maybe I need to take an extra bag,  HA!

Adore

Here's the cutest Gorjuss Girl stamp. I just can't resist these wonderful images.  This artist is fabulous. I don't know what draws me to them, maybe I can see a little of myself in them, but then my husband is like, how is that possible, she doesn't have a mouth, lol!!

I added some wonderful Turkish lace to it.  I am still planning on a trip to Turkiye this summer.  It will be good and bad as I may facing a change at work as well.  I could very well be leaving for the summer and not knowing if I will have a job, lol!!  EEEK.  Wish me luck though, I just applied to a job I would love....

Time to Discover

I thought this was the perfect card as the new school year starts.  To me sentiment is just perfect for the teachers and especially the students. Here's some encouragement for them, "time to DISCOVER" with this fun Gorjuss Girl stamp.

I hope everyone is now settled into class and getting into the swing of things.  I know there's actually a few schools who start after labor day and are just getting ready to get going now.

Gorjuss Girl

Here's one of my favorite characters. I am sure that is obvious due to my blog layout.  It's Gorjuss Girls.  I just love her!  Being in Europe this summer I should see a lot more of this character there than I see in the USA.

I am also using some wonderful lace from Turkiye on this card.  So lovely isn't it?  I am sure I will be coming home with a whole suitcase full of it. Ha!

Tickled Pink

Here's a precious Gorjuss Girl stamp. I am sure you all know I love these images just based on the fact that my blog uses a Gorjuss Girl header on it.  I have been a huge fan since I first came across these stamps in an international store so many years ago.

Last time I was in Turkiye I was delighted to come across a mall that had a music store with a huge selection of Sanrio products.  Oh, what a delight.  Took me a long time to choose which one I wanted. I got the coolest Gorjuss Girl wallet there.  So fun.

Gorjuss Girl

Here's a great Gorjuss Girl colored up in various shaded of orange and a tiny amount of pink with some wonderful orange Turkish lace added to the card.  Isn't she just precious?  I love this stamp.  When I was in Turkey last time, I came across a store that had all kinds of Santoro products with Gorjuss Girl on them.  It's huge in Europe.  I bought myself an expensive wallet that I just love.
Got the last of the packages in the mail, Desi and Carolyn.  Everyone else should be getting their stuff soon! At least those in the USA, I don't know how long it will take those outside of the US, though I did try and send their goodies first.

Gorjuss Girl gift box

One of my more recent purchases was a die cut system that would cut out and make a Gorjuss Girl.  As I am sure you know, I just LOVE Gorjuss Girls.  Here's my first one, sorry the lighting is bad on the photo, it's a gift box that I decorated using the sweet die cut along with two large flowers and then some great papers.  I made this cute gift box and filled it with cards for a dear member of my church who is going through some major medical problems right now.

I thought a little spring Gorjuss Girl would cheer her up!

Gorjuss Girl

Here's one of my favorite stamps of all time, I guess more correctly would be my favorite stamp characters of all time.  I am sure that is obvious because of my blog header.  I just LOVE Gorjuss Girls.  Oh, these stamps are just TOO cute.  How can you not love them?  Well, I do know some people don't like them, my husband says they (like Magnolia stamps) are totally creepy because they don't have a mouth.

I just love them though.  When I was in Turkiye this summer I was fortunate enough to find a store that had the Santoro line of merchandise.  For people in Europe, this may be common, but in the USA, we don't ever see this merchandise.  It's quite pricey, but I was able to chose to get a nice wallet for myself that was a Gorjuss Girl theme.

Want to see my living room? It's covered in envies and crafting stuff as i package everything to get ready for mailing....

Did you see the grand prize winner list:

I will say I have a least half of them wrapped up, now what they need is postage!!  so I am getting ready to start listing names of the packages going into the mail

ALSO--Give me a day or two and I will start emailing out the DIGI stamp prizes, it will take me a moment to get the emails together and start sending them out.

Another Purple Day!

Time for another PURPLE DAY!!  Here's one of my stamp favorites, Gorjuss Girls! She's done up in purple and combined with some of the awesome lace that I got in Istanbul this summer.

Here's a little more about Epilepsy this month:
Please encourage the government officials to also allow testing on non-traditional treatments such as Cannibidoil or marijuana.  For some patients who take up to 5 medications per day, it has been found to STOP their seizures, but they live in a state where it is illegal for them to seek this actual medical treatment supervised by a DOCTOR. Unfortunately then some people then try it themselves.   I personally don't use them, but being a patient who took five medications a day with horrible side effects and no relief, I certainly think I would try ANYTHING, and I think it should be a decision that a doctor should make, not a congressman.  Encourage the government to let the doctors do their job and not to let desperate patients try and self medicate.  I am very very proud to say that Texas actually PASSED legislation this year to allow cannibidoil for specific cases.  It's at least a start.

Hugs, Holley

Gorjuss Girls

Here's the cutest Gorjuss Girl stamp.  I just love these images (I am sure that was obvious given my blog).  While in Turkiye I was delighted to find a store with a whole bunch of Santoro merchandise.  It's not something we ever see in America as it comes from London.  It's also fairly pricey compared to most other things in Turkiye, but I did buy myself this wonderful wallet with Gorjuss Girls.

This card is using some of the stunning lace that I got while visiting last month.  Makes me wish I could just get on a plane and go back there!

It's time to celebrate!

I thought this amazing Gorjuss Girl was just perfect for starting off this year's contest.  I am so very thankful after the brain surgeries to be here at year 6 and still be healthy and seizure free.  I feel like there is so much to celebrate and I have so much goodies to share with everyone!  My blog candy is available to USA and abroad. I do send overseas and/or give digi prizes to my friends overseas.

I posted a longer message yesterday detailing mailing, prize announcements and such (click here to read that if you missed it).

This posting is the MAIN drawing listing, be sure to leave a comment here as today's comment list will have prize winners selected from it all month long!!  Then add comments on each day's post as the month goes on, typically I will announce winners from each day after about 6 days have passed. I will start up a PRIZE list and will link it to the sidebar so you can follow it and watch for your name.  It will get updated daily and list the grand prizes (like large stamp sets and die cut sets) at the end of the month.

Thanks so much to my old friends and my new friends for celebrating with me. If you are new, I had two brain surgeries back in 2010 that were phenomenal. They truly changed my life and ended my seizures, my headache pain, and so much more. You can read my story here.

Let's celebrate what we have to be thankful for! (That'd be crafting :)

Cheers, Holley

Beloved

Here's one of my all time favorite stamps, Gorjuss Girls.  I am sure that's obvious given the Header on my blog.  I just love this artist's images. So very beautiful. I am using some paper from Cosmo Crickett and fun die cut from Spellbinders

Thanks to those who inquired about the storms we are having here in Texas.  Being in Austin, I am right in the middle of it.  I am watching the rives (i.e the ones that were totally dried up due to 4 years of severe drought) turn in to amazing and crazy destructive forces.  My house is in a good location so unlike many, I am safe for now.  I have developed quite the pond in the yard. I am considering adding some fish so I can go fishing.  J/K.  Initially all this crazy rain was not helping the lakes (from which most of this community gets their drinking water), it was down below 40% now, in this one month it has gained over 27 FEET of water and is sitting at 67%.  Much of which happened in just one week.  It's expected to continue to rise as the floods dissipate. My prayers go out to those who have lost significant property, those affected by the tornados that also occurred and those who lost loved ones during this flooding.

Gorjuss Girl

Here's the cutest stamp, she's definitely the first of those images that I just fell in love with and then had to go get ALL of her stamps.  It's Gorjuss Girl.  Initially I could only get them from an overseas shop and would get the rubber only sent to me.  I think now a much bigger company sells this artist's images in both rubber and clear.

Have a great weekend.  Cheers, Holley

Gorjuss Girl

Always time for a Gorjuss Girl Stamp. I just love this artist's work, as I guess you could clearly tell given my blog design.  This artist is just amazing.    Here's one of her stamps and I added a wonderful uplifting sentiment for the day "Learn from yesterday, Live for Today, Hope for Tomorrow."
I hope this makes everyone smile today.  I can remember when I had such long long brown hair.  Right before my brain surgeries, I had just over 2 foot (yep, TWO FEET WORTH) of hair cut off so they would donate it to Locks of Love and it could be used for wigs.  That put my hair super short before surgery.  Of course doctors will tell you that you don't "have" to cut your hair, but I will also just laugh and say they shaved a huge line straight down center of my head like a reverse mohawk (and several other places).  Hair was about the last thing that mattered at the time to me.  For me, it was just amazing getting my BRAIN fixed and it if some other person could get hair, then that's great.  But to give the hair, I had to go before my surgery and get it cut at a salon.

Project Materials:  Cardstock (Bazzill, Neenah); Printed Paper (unsure);  Image (Gorjuss Girls;  Saying--I think--Hero arts);  Ink (Memento, Colorbox Chalk); Flowers (Prima); Brads (Basic Grey); Die cuts (Spellbinders Nestabilities);  Color (Copic Markers); Adhesives (Pop dots, Glue All, Glue Dots);

Grow

It's a Gorjuss Girl kind of day. Isn't she adorable?  I thought she was just perfect with this cute sticker that I found that said "Bloom."  She looks like she's growing and is about to bloom into something wonderful.  It makes me think of all the kids at vacation bible school last week.
