Another Quick and Cute

Here's another fun and quick and cute card, this card was an embossed shape card that I got from Studio G.  They sell these cards in sets of 6 or 8 for just a dollar!  I really loved this one, as there are times when you are in a pinch and you just need to put a card together and you want something that's lovely and elegant but you don't have time for all that detail work.  This die cut embossed card can do the trick.  I am using a beautiful Sweet Pea stamp from artist Helena Reis called Waiting for You.

Underneath the image I added some fun ribbon two strips of it, to cover up the center, I added a piece of black and white stitched ribbon.  I die cut out the colored image and added bling and buttons to the card to finish it off.

Hope these projects give you some quick and easy ideas for projects when you find yourself in a bind and need a handmade touch.

Cheers, Holley

Quick and Cute!!

Here's some fun ideas to make some wonderful cards, quick and easy when you find yourself in that pinch and you need something for tomorrow (or worse, you need it for right NOW).....I know I often have beautiful stamped images already colored and waiting for homes on a card. Perhaps that it just me.  I love to sit down and color away.  This beautiful stamp is from Sweet Pea artist, Rebecca Sinz Toxic.  Can you guess how I made this quick and simple card?  I will tell you that it fits just perfectly in a standard envelope, those generic mailing envies (not A2) but regular mailing envelopes.

This adorable card is actually made from a cute border for a scrapbook!  It's a 3" x 6" border that folds in half and is super adorable.  You get tons of them in scrapbooking kits (which of course, I never follow the directions for those kits, I just design my own pages).  I was able to find a sweet matching color flowers, brads and sentiment to go with it, and there you go!  A gorgeous card in just a few minutes (well, minus all the previous work that was spent on the coloring!!)

Here's a close up of the image itself.  Be sure and check out the artist's original coloring, it's so very different from my color choices.

Aren't you just loving these images?  Did you see this week's sale at the store?  Check it out...

Country Girl

Here's a great image designed by artist Kim Pipkin Gwin.  I must confess though, as a Texas Girl, I actually don't own a single pair of boots.  I can't even recall ever owning a pair boots.  Yes, though I live in TX, I am city folk.  Very much so, I grew up in the metropolis of San Antonio, at the time was the 10th largest city in the USA.  My family did have a ranch, so I probably have a lot more exposure to country life than the majority of my childhood friends. (Though, it's very limited)

Love this gorgeous image she created. Hope you are all having a wonderful Sunday.  hugs and prayers everyone.

If you haven't gotten your Blog candy, please let me know!  I got a package back yesterday...WHOOPS...I had the right address and the wrong city.  UGH. well, when you send out a 100 packages in less than a week, that is bound to happen. I have already contacted that recipient to let her know. But just in case there were other mistakes or postal errors, LMK if you didn't get yours.  I know some international packages will take a while, I got messages late last week from some people who just received theirs.

Cheers, Holley

Seahorse Illusion

Here's a stunning card from Sweet Pea artist ching chou kuik called Seahorse Illusion.  This stamp is totally amazing.  I used blue hair to give a water image and then matched it with several blues on the card itself.  I chose a bright orange for the seahorse and matching embellishments.

Here's a close up of the stamp itself.  It's currently available in both Digi as well as rubber stamp format.
Be sure and check it out on the Sweet Pea stamp site (click here) as the original artist's coloring is so very different from mine.  It really gives you a great idea for the versatility of this image.

Cheers, Holley

Baby Wabbit

Here's an adorable little bunny from Queen Kat, it's designed to be a boy wabbit, but I chose to color this one up as a girl to show you it's diversity. I added a sweet vellum sentiment, "Life in progress" as I see little kids and how very quickly they learn and grow.

Isn't this bunny cute as a girl too?  Drop by the Queen Kat store and check out the other cute bunnies and chicks from this artist Mary Ellen Smith.  Is it time for those Easter theme cards?

Have a great day!

Here's some cute calendars....

So earlier in the year I was showing you some of the adorable calendars that I had made and handed out at Christmas time (or I guess New Year's Time).  I have had several people, esp those at my church who tell me all the time that they think of me all the time now because they see that calendar everyday on their fridge!  Glad they are getting some use!

Here's some more of them, just to give you some ideas of a cute and easy gift to hand out....

Must confess, that one on the bottom, I kept him, stamped all around him it says "Bad Hair Day"  ha ha!!

Grumpy Fae

Here's a fun rubber stamp from one of Sweet Pea's newest artist's Mitzi Sato-Wiuff.  This fun stamp is called Grump Fae with and Acorn on a Mushroom.  I just love her beautiful images, the all have such a personality. Be sure and check them all out at the Sweet Pea site.  This one very much makes me think of fall, when the acorns are falling down from the trees, so I picked a fall time color for the card.

Here's a close up of the fairy from Mitzi, isn't she just adorable? I colored her wings the same colors as the mushrooms and the acorn.

Hope you love the images from Mitzi Sato-Wiuff.   Be sure and check out the wonderful specials at the Sweet Pea store this week.

So, has everyone gotten their digi stamps yet?  PLEASE let me know if you haven't....

I hope that everyone's packages are arriving, hopefully everyone in the USA has gotten theirs by now.  I have already started hearing from some of the overseas people, but I do know that some packages take a couple weeks to arrive.

I printed out all your nice messages from Dr Aboumatar and Staff yesterday and I wrote him a nice note on that card, with the Dr A bear designed by Sandra Caldwell.  (She has started selling that stamp too!)  I put that in the mail today.  Hope he and his staff get a nice uplifting feeling from that.  I will say the first or second time, esp when I brought them some treats (like handmade cookies or something I made), their response was like, "it's my job."  I look at them like, you saved my life, for that you have my gratitude (regardless of whatever my insurance company paid).

Have a great weekend everyone!

Time to shop!

Here's an adorable little girl, she's off shopping! I did this card with all sorts of greens and added a wood embellishment as the center of the flower with "Life is good" etched inside.  What a sweet stamp.  This image comes from Queen Kat, see her here.

I hope you are all having a great day and the packages are now reaching everyone! Isn't it fun when you get goodies in the mail? It's like you went shopping, but you got it for free.  Hugs all!!

Cheers, Holley

Steampunk Kay

Here's a gorgeous card using stunning papers from Paper Temptress and a fun image from Simply Betty Stamps.  I am using a wonderful textured background topped with a shimmery diecut layer that is lifted up with pop dots and has the image on top of it.  It gives a unique depth to the card as usually the die cut lays flat on the base.

Here's a close up of the cardstocks I used
The black cardstock is called Black Felt Grandee, it's one of my favorite papers in black as the cardstock is thick and textured, perfect as the base of a card! The red card stock has a stunning golden shimmer on it, the whole sheet just glistens in the light, it's called Rosso Incandescent.  I did my image on Neenah Solar White.  It's a cardstock that runs through my printer with ease and it great for coloring with copic markers.

Hope you all have gotten your prizes by now, at least those of you whose prizes were mailed last week from inside the USA.  Most international letter will take one to two weeks.  All the digi stamps should have arrived by now.  If you haven't gotten your prize (digis), please let me know!! htondre@aol.com

Cheers, Holley

Meet the Irish Chic

Here's a perfect stamp for St Patrick's Day, which is March 17th, this is Joanne Schempp's Irish Chic. I do so love this image for the holiday, I had to make a mono-tone green theme card for the occasion and add some green clover buttons and shimmery green die cut borders.  St Patricks day also reminds me much of parades, so I added a fun sentiment flag, "Don't Rain on my parade"

Here's a closeup of the image itself, I just love this sassy lady!
There's lots of other fun stamps from Sweet Pea for St Patrick's Day, so drop by and check them out (click here), you still have a couple weeks to make some fun cards for this holiday

Thanks so much for joining in everyone.
For those getting their goodies emailed to them.  I will compile a list of all your emails and such, waiting until I have ALL the winners info and then submit it to the companies, so hopefully you will get an email with your digi stamps or your store credit depending on the vendor.

For those who will have items in the real mail--each day I will be posting who's item is mailed.  Typical prizes are 6-8 assorted embellishement, a brand new set of rubber stamps or perhaps this year I want to go half and half and send you some stamps and some embellishments....I do sometimes TRY and pay attention to all those great things you have been telling me all month, but of course, I have what I have, lol.  It really doesn't at all hurt my feelings if you end up with something that is not your style and you simply trade it off to get something you want.  I know that makes some people upset. Not me.  I give freely and it's my gift to you, so if you can get something you really need with it.  Doesn't hurt my feelings!  {{HUGS}}

SECOND CHANCE DRAWING!!
Don't find your name on the winner list?  well there is going to be another drawing for the unclaimed prizes, so CLICK HERE and leave a comment if you haven't won yet!!

Meet the Shopping Girl

Here's a great new stamp from Queen Kat, she's called Shopping Girl.  She's just too cute.  She's brand new this month and if you like her, there's several other fun girls that just came to the store. I did my card base here in a dark orange and added some pink Bazzill swiss paper to the sides, with white ink on them.  I used a Martha Stewart border punch to do the sides of the stamped image and colored them with a pink ink.

I had to add a fun sentiment to her "Shop like it's your job!"  yep, I am guessing there's more than a few people who might take that job.  I don't really consider myself a shopaholic unless it comes to stamps! Then, yeah, I am!

Today's final prize list is posted, so please go check it to see ALL the final candy winners!

If you find your name on the list and haven't sent me and email or address yet, please do so!

If you have been playing all month long and didn't make the list, never fear!! There will be many prizes that will go UNCLAIMED!!  Click here to go the Unclaimed Prize Land, which just like the Land of the Lost Toys in Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer is full of good stuff that just need the RIGHT home.  Go THERE, leave a comment and a subsequent drawing will get made for all the prizes that are left.

Cheers all, Holley
